Glad you found a new spark! I love adding a bit of thread; you can also run pieces through a sewing machine, which looks great too!

@@Juliaian yes I am working on watercolour paper. I've used embroidery on unstretched canvas and then stretched later. Haven't tried on a stretched canvas. Wonder if that is possible?

Where do you buy deli paper from in Australia?
Greaseproof paper is called deli paper in the US. It's used primarily for wrapping sandwiches and isn't suitable for putting in the oven. Mine isn't as transparent as I like, so I might try another brand. The one I have at the moment is the Armarda brand from Woolworths. You can also get deli paper in some craft shops that is imported from the US. It's more expensive, though, and pretty similar to what is called "greaseproof paper" in Australia. I hope that helps!
