The story about shiv and parvati is told in tis video,how shiv ji created this place.It is believed that Varanasi is the first Jyotirlinga to manifest itself. According legends at this place Shiva manifested as an infinite column of light (Jyotirlinga) in front of Brahma and Vishnu and then they had an argument about their supremacy.
At kashi vishwanath jyotirling temple ,The main deity is known by the name Vishvanatha or Vishveshvara meaning Ruler of The Universe. Varanasi city is also called Kashi, and hence the temple is popularly called Kashi Vishvanath Temple.
Reachable via air,train and road.
Visit dasashwamedh ghat as well outside the temple.
Do not miss the ganga aarti held every evening. To grab the seat in front row for aarti ,you must reach the ghat atleat 1-2 hrs prior the aarti timings (6:30pm).
