These two teams impress me. CZECH REPUBLIC has got some great infielders, they can throw the leather that is for sure. Aruba has some great hitters, Head is on the ball. Both teams coaching are doing tremendous jobs. Hats off
Dang, I was rooting for the Czech Republic to win at least one game. They really only had one bad inning but it cost them. Baseball is so foreign to most people who live in Eastern Europe. There’s very few fields, equipment, umpires, rival teams & just the interest, unlike South & Central America. Still they played good & didn’t embarrass themselves, better luck next year guys.
I was wondering what type of baseball programs they have there and just how popular baseball is in general..? I wanted them to do well here too but let’s be honest - that’s a pretty unrealistic scenario because they seem so new to this. To teams like Puerto Rico and Czech Republic I think just getting to the LLWS is the goal. It would be interesting how well Czech Republic stacked up against the American teams …?
@@brianmeen2158 My best friend lives in Germany but travels around the Eastern block. He says football (soccer) is king over there with all of the kids. Basketball is gaining popularity but he never sees any kids playing baseball, except on military bases with American kids. But they must be playing somewhere as these young boys were fundamentally pretty sound. Their coaches must be teaching them well as they didn't make too many errors. Sure they missed the cut off man repeatedly & some passed balls by the catcher, but overall much better than prior years.
@@jwwj30 interesting as I could tell they improved and they came close to beating Cuba. I’m honestly not even sure how long they’ve had a system where they could reach the LLWS…? I’m sure they’ll keep improving but they are in a tough spot in terms of going far at the LLWS because of countries like Chinese Taipei, Japan and Aruba who have much better programs and experience
@@brianmeen2158 Yes, you are right. They are light years behind Japan & China, who have actual baseball academies for youngsters. I heard they run them like tough military camps but using only baseball fundamentals & exercises. Japan used to have infield practices that were quite impressive, especially for 11 & 12 year old boys.
@@jwwj30. Definitely. They said the Japanese team has their teams practice for 10 hours a day on the weekend! So they definitely take baseball very seriously. A lot of funding as you said goes into academies. There seems to be a lot of imbalance between different countries and regions . I’m in America and for instance, my district has never even won a state title much less made it to LLWS .. seems the same regions(west, southeast) do well every year . I bet right out of the gate only 5-10% of American teams even have a chance of making it to LLWS .. the number is probably lower than that. Im not complaining exactly but just wish it was more balanced
I predicted Aruba was going to beat Czech Republic - they are just a few levels better.. Aruba vs Australia tomorrow and they should win that without too much of a struggle Props to Czech Republic as they are improving but it’s going to be hard for them to ever be a force at the LLWS as there are too many elite foreign teams
Has there ever been any South Africa teams representing Europe-Africa ? Good win Aruba also nice job to that kid from Czech Republic who came back bigger and better
@@quaakes If I remember correctly, Uganda did win the MEA region. But had passport and visa problems that did not allow the team to come to Williamsport. They were scheduled to play Canada. Eventually Canada travelled to Uganda and they did play each other. I believe 60 minutes covered this in a report....
@@davidhadden-ii5hs that was the year prior, but a different team in Lugazi Uganda went to Williamsport in 2012. They beat Oregon in a consolation game.
The catching in this tournament has been terrible. How many runs were the result of pass balls of catching mis steps in this game alone? The coaches world wide need to teach the fundamentals of blocking, getting the body in front of pitches in the dirt etc.
Its cringe. I get that they are copying their fav MLB player but baseball used to be a class sport and if players would showboat they would take a upper 90's fb to the body. lol
Tired of cocky Caribbean teams celebrating like Curaçao did last few years. Tired of the MLB influence in that matter on Little League baseball. Stop celebrating or else you will screw up like the Curaçao player did at 3B last year

Aruba is a top team - it’s just they played Mexico in the first game

Thank you for all the great videos !
Czech Republic's shortstop and 1st baseman are very impressive. Honestly this team was only a few pieces away from being legit contenders.
Proud of my Arubian players, good job guys🎉🎉🎉On to the next! Ban pe Aruba 🇦🇼
lol kid made the ump tee bag him

The highlights you do are great cant wait to watch the rest
The arm on that third baseman from the Czech Republic was amazing. The ball is dead as hell tho

Not that it would change that game but at 6:51 you have to call that runner interference on the double play.
