A thing I believe to have noticed about Pagani that they don't seem to extend the improvements on some models to others that are in production. The backplay issue should have been resolved at the same time as that on the subby homage.
I've recently brought a PD-1662 NH34 Green/Black and I think its excellent for the money. As a long time wearer and collector of Swiss 'luxury' mechanical watches, I was very sceptical about Chinese homage watches, but I wanted a cheap mechanical watch which I wouldn't be upset if it got knocked about at work. Well I was so impressed I ordered a couple more. Riddler with NH34 runs at +2 spd, and Batman with DG5833 runs at +3/4 spd, expecting a Coke in the next couple of days. All on jubilee bracelets, and my only complaints are the clasp micro adjust is awkward, and the bezel could have more resistance, other than that none of the issues you experienced with your review piece.
No bull honesty! Love it! I bought a Pag and it fell apart within an hour of wearing. I hate the thing so much it is sitting under the bed on the floor
This week $57. $105 for NH movement. Fingers crossed. Though I regulate at will, smooth any sharp edges, brush if the impulse strikes, change bands at will. Oil rotor if needed. Fall in love again.
It's typical of Pagani there,s always small QC issues this one had several I have it in my basket just took it out great honest review i really am going to stop buying Pagani its just to hit and miss its a shame
One big problem with the left hand, is that the date changes at 6pm and takes along time to change this is because it’s the normal gmt movement turned upside down. Only way to partly solve it, is by setting it at am. So the date will be change most likely when you are not awake.
I just took delivery of mine. A lot of the issues raised in this video seem to have been addressed. The cyclops is aligned correctly on mine, the two colours on the bezel are now split right down the middle and the bezel has no where near as much play in it anymore as is shown in this video. The winding stem still has some resistance in it but no more than an Orient Kamasu. The lume is also more even in colour now.
Try as I might, I could not see what you were talking about re the bezel insert (green to black). Looked absolutely fine to me and I paused your video to study it. Same story with the 'wonky' magnification bubble. Not sure one can expect perfection for the price.
Thank you for watching Kevin. My camcorder is below the centre of the dial, therefore the camera angle means you can't see the cyclops magnifier is rotated slightly clockwise, rather than being level over the date window. The green half of the bezel is too low, the line is low on the 6, below the 3 o'clock index, and 15 minute tick on the chapter ring. "Not sure one can expect perfection for the price." I do not expect perfection for 120 Euro. I expect a correctly aligned cyclops magnifier, and correct ceramic bezel insert. Pagani Design are capable of getting these correct, as per their PD-1662 Batman, Pepsi, and Root Beer versions. Regards, #WR4K

Wow John, you are having really a bad run with PD at the moment. The PD-1692 Air King you reviewed was a recent high watermark. Since then, the PD reviews (even those models that appear to be pitched as as "higher quality") have been poor quality / value pieces. I have a PD-1662 Pepsi on a Jubilee style bracelet. It has been great and the ("Pearl") movement has been reliable and accurate enough to date. If I could have time back I would wait for the NH34A though. I have had this watch for over 6 months and it has stood up so far. It has none of the QC issues highlighted in this Riddler Review. I guess I have been lucky. I found the background info on the "Pearl" movement very interesting. Thank you.
Hi, thank you for the video. I recently received my PD-1662, but I have not set it yet. Also, I am new to using a GMT watch. If you can, please direct me to a video showing me how to set the watch with the GMT hand showing the time one hour ahead, or, alternatively, tell me how to do it 🙂. I am on GMT/UTC/BST (whichever you wish to choose [I know the difference between them]) and I wish to have the watch showing CEST.
Thank you for watching. First pull the crown all way out to the second click. Set the time. Then push it back in to the first click and set the date. Then while in the date setting position rotate the crown anticlockwise to move the GMT hour hand only. It will move independently of the hour and minute hands. Then push the crown back in fully to restart the movement, and screw it back down fully. Regards, #WR4K
It seems people have different methods for using a GMT like this. Here's how I do it: I am in EST (eastern standard) and I want to set the GMT hand to UTC/GMT. So I set the normal hour hand normally, to my local time zone. I then set the GMT hand to whatever the time is in 24-hour time UTC. So If the local time is say, 5pm, I would set the normal hour hand to the five position (of course.) I am currently -4 from GMT, so that would be 9pm UTC or, 21:00. So I set the GMT hand to where 21 is on the GMT bezel (so like, 10:30 on the 12 hour face.)
@@watchreviews4k Thank you for your reply 🙂. Your videos are good. Regarding the GMT hand, where do I place it? For example, it is now about 16:16 BST, so, where do I place the GMT to show me one hour ahead? Sorry if I am coming across like a complete dunce.
@@watchreviews4k Thanks. I presume that means that one has to set the time on the hour? I think I found another way. If the time is say 16:20 UTC and I want the GMT hand to show 17:20 (for CEST) - move the GMT hand to the fifth increment past 5 on the watch face (this represents the elapsing of 20 minutes into the hour). That way when the watch shows 17:00 UTC it will how 18:00 CEST. I tried watching tutorial videos on this, but they did not show me what I wanted to know, and they made it really complicated by talking about tracking three time zones. I just looked at my watch and I have to say my method does not seem to have worked! 😅😂. So, ignore the above. I will keep trying.
Pagani Design, PLEASE make this same exact watch in a right handed version (crown on the right side of the case to wear on the left wrist)….why is this color combination not available for the left wrist? I’m confused!
Why would they? This is meant to be a exact homage of the Rolex GMT Sprite which ONLY comes with the left hand, since Rolex don’t even make it in left hand why would Pagani which is meant to replicate the same design make a left hand??
If the cyclops magnifier is glued to the sapphire crystal, you can remove it using concentrated heat, like a butan blowtorch for making crème brûlée or so. Those jet flame lighters should work aswell. There are tutorials or videos of people doing it to other watches here on TH-cam…

Mate - seriously it’s great value. Stop being so critical - if you expected workmanship of an actual Rolex, for it’s price, who really need to have a good look at yourself.
The watch isn't 120 Euro. It's 120 Euro + shipping (as most of us will use DHL) + import duties and taxes. So it's really more like 150 - 170 Euro for most people around the world.
Thank you for watching Jack. I quote the price of the watch on AliExpress that I see shipped to Ireland via China Post. It is impossible for me to state the plethora of prices to different countries including DHL, and import taxes. The majority of collectors use China Post, not DHL, as its less expensive. Yes, its a given that import taxes are charged. I pay import tax on all watches I receive from China, this varies depending on the value. However I never use DHL as they always charge an additional handling fee for paying the import tax to Customs to clear it. Regards, #WR4K
@@watchreviews4k Understand that your audience is not just from Ireland. 2nd and 3rd world countries make up the bulk of the world's population. China post is impossible for them because they don't have reliable local postal services and DHL is the only way they are SURE to get their items without waiting up to 3 months, if ever. You're simply making an assumption that the majority of collectors use China post. They don't. The majority of collectors would rather get their shipments than pray it doesn't go missing once it arrives in their countries. I would suggest you add: " The price of this item is (whatever) excl your preferred shipping method and tax and duties you'd pay to your respective customs authority. "I would suggest you add: " The price of this item is (whatever) excl your preferred shipping method and tax and duties you'd pay to your respective customs authority. Disappointing for sure. I wear a Pagani PD-1662 that is in beautiful nick. This particular example speaks of lax QC and that is a shame. I encourage Pagani to push for excellence in their operation with a zero-tolerance attitude. The watch community will be all the better for it.
Thank you for watching. No offence taken. I was under a 12 month contract with CHRONEXT to review 45 watches. I completed the 45 in 10 months, then decided not to renew the contract. Reviewing; Rolex, Tudor, Omega, etc, didn't have the positive effective on my channel I expected. So I can no longer get hold of these pieces for review. AliExpress low-tier watches gain more views than mid-tier, and high-tier Swiss and German watches as the majority of collectors can afford them. Therefore I earn more AdSense revenue from reviewing AliExpress watches. Lastly I am paid by brands and resellers, and gifted watches which I sell on eBay. The CHRONEXT watches were on loan, therefore they didn't provide the same revenue streams. I would like to review Swatch Group brands, but their brands have either ignored my emails, or said no to my requests for review pieces. The other reason is brands have cut me off after I gave their watches a negative review. Regards, #WR4K

I have reviewed over 200 Chinese low-tier brands from over 50 brands in the last 2 years and 3 months. I deal directly with the brands, and their AliExpress resellers. They tell me which shipping the majority of buyers use; which is China Post via AliExpress due to it being the cheapest.
"I would suggest you add: " The price of this item is (whatever) excl your preferred shipping method and tax and duties you'd pay to your respective customs authority. You'd think this is common knowledge, but it's not." This would be stating the obvious to the majority of collectors. All collectors that have purchased a piece from AliExpress have experienced shipping, and import tax, in addition to the retail price.
I review watches. I am not responsible for providing AliExpress shipping rates, and Customs import tax rates; that is for the collector to research themselves. Regards, #WR4K
@@jacksilver2963 wr4k is a watch reviewer who in my opinion makes some of the most in depth and honset reviews on TH-cam. Enjoy the content and stop picking holes in things. Life's to short.
I've recently brought a PD-1662 NH34 Green/Black it was 106 Euro delivered from China to UK in 6 days, with no import duties or taxes.
It would appear there is a quality control problem with the manufacturer.
I have the jubilee version
My brain doesn’t register the left handedness
It’s a wasted attempt, because as a left hander, I can’t stand wearing a watch on my right arm!
@@martinowl I second that 😂
Is it a homage or a copy?
Thank you for watching Damian. Both. Regards, #WR4K
It’s a homage. A copy would have the Rolex logo.

It's probably worth about £10. I wouldn't pay any more than that for it.
Thank you for watching Steve. Regards, #WR4K
Disappointing for sure. I wear a Pagani PD-1662 that is in beautiful nick. This particular example speaks of lax QC and that is a shame. I encourage Pagani to push for excellence in their operation with a zero-tolerance attitude. The watch community will be all the better for it.
For the price I can really live well with the shown flaws in this review- afterall the watch can be purchaised for under 100$
Thank you for watching Chris. Regards, #WR4K
@@watchreviews4k thanks for your great review- it has been done very professionelly 👍
If you’re willing to spend $100.00 on garbage, I can send you a bag every day.
I hope this question doesn’t come across the wrong way but why has this channel become almost exclusively Chinese homages?
@@watchreviews4k thank you for the detailed review. I did not expect such a thoughtful and detailed answer. Good luck with the channel and I’ll continue to watch.
They should've ditched the cyclops all together
Late to check in.. #25 reply.. Lol
Thanks for the great review here John.. As per usual with all the details.. But in my case of my watch with the jubilee bracelet.. I've no problem at all with the rattling feel. Feel the same with my old trusted turn-o-graph DJ and got no problem with the magnifying glass too.. Just the QC problem I think with yours.. But the rest are spot on as per your review.. Thanks again.. Keep it going..
Ohh BTW John.. That's why I said to you at 1st place.. Don't name this model as Riddler.. It will make you feel sick.. Just call it as The Sprite.. And may be you get the cool and soothing one watch.. Hahaha. I'm just kidding here.. Carry on mate.. Cheers!
Too harsh a review for a watch at this price
Thank you for watching Ang. Regards, #WR4K
I wear such a watch for the third day, at night it lags by 2 seconds, after more than 12 hours on the arm it adds 3 seconds.there was no such accuracy on the Citizen and Seiko made in Japan, even Orient were less accurate.
Thank you for watching. Regards, #WR4K
That’s not accurate.
Ridiculous.cannot understand people buying this garbage Chinese copy and wear it .worse a review omg
Thank you for watching. Regards, #WR4K
Not many people can afford high end watches costing hundreds of thousands of dollars, so most people have to buy mid range watches costing just thousands of dollars (such as Rolex), or low end watches costing hundreds (such as Pagani Design).
So basically, it’s a piece of garbage.
Thank you for watching. Regards, #WR4K
Very thorough examination! Keep it up!
Can you please do pressure testing?
I quit TH-cam on the 22nd February. Regards, #WR4K
Oh no❤
