- A few months ago I built Nala her own cardboard fortress, so once Carl Philip Clam got in touch with us a few weeks ago to invite us to spend a night in his castle, we couldn't say no to exploring and sleeping in a real castle. We ended up staying for a few nights as we had an absolutely amazing time there. Nala definitely enjoyed being the first cat to get a tour of the place and I've always wanted to see a real dungeon from the inside 🐈 🏰

We’re Dean & Nala, and we’ve been best friends since December 2018. I was actually cycling around the world when I heard Nala meowing out for me somewhere in the Bosnian mountains. With no intentions of keeping Nala, I knew i had to save the wee kitten and take her to the vet - but I was well aware of the fact that it might be a bit of a challenge considering I only had a bike. However, despite my concerns, Nala quickly climbed out of the front bag on the bike handle and straight onto my shoulder. Since then, we’ve been travelling the world together. Thank you for the soft appropriate music! I just love watching Nala absorb all her surroundings and am dying to know what she's thinking of it all. She's so laid back but always alert. As long as she's with dad all's right with the world. Thanks Dean for all your work to share this with us. Especially us older armchair tourist's unable to get out like we used to. I like that the first thing Nala checks when entering a new accommodation is the comfort of the bed!

I love how the castle owner says "When my family arrived here...14-something" so casually like every family has lived in their residence for forever. I also like that Dean is allowing more information as told by a guide/owner this time so we can get a better idea of what we're looking at.

@@veilenedream5825 - My part Maine Coon girl was like that. She loved to travel. I lost her in 2019 at the age of 20 years. I now have a male that looks like her, but travelling isn't his thing. I tried to take him out in a pet stroller and he did a "Houdini" escape before we even made it to the elvator, and darted back down the hall to our door.

Two spectacular places in a row! Wonderful of Carl Philip to invite you and Nala. Love how when you got into the wooded area close to the castle, Nala leaned her head back in bliss..."The scents, Daddy!" Looked like lots of wonderful scents in the castle, too; especially the dungeon. I gigglesnorted so hard at the "attackin' with hardboiled eggs and water bombs". :snerk: Simply awesome. This is the best marking video ever for that place - Austria is such a low profile country and culture, Dean is showing us a lot of beautiful places that we gotta go see one day... wow.... this castle is amazing!!!

Not everyone gets to meet a real Count and stays a few nights at a castle, but this cat has. Nala has certainly come a long way since you found her as an orphan kitten.

There is something about Dean’s lens capturing his surrounding that’s calming. It was as though the camera became Dean. His personality shines thru the footage. Of course having the inquisitive Nala is just chef’s kiss. The whole experience watching Dean’s film is great!

I decided to eat breakfast with Dean and Nala instead of watching the morning news. I highly recommend this choice! Much better way to start the day.

Nala, queen of the castle at least for a couple of days. I'm always amazed at how well she adapts to things that would scare the be'jeebers of most cats. Life as a traveling cat seems to suit her. Best cycling companion ever!
I love the calm way Nala looks at everything from her perch on the bike. It is almost as though she is granting her approval. She seemed to enjoy the Castle too. She and Dean seem to be on the same page in just about everything and he takes care that she is comfortable and safe. It is lovely just to watch them and share their adventures .

I knew from the look of it that this was a quite old castle (not all of them are), because of the style of the defensive towers. Lots to see, amazing suits of armor and a real dungeon, wow. Gorgeous accommodation, and the Count was so nice to give a personal tour. (Nice publicity for the castle, of course, but he seems like a very nice person.)
Nala's little face at the window, awww... Many people would have left her there while they walked around the grounds, but not Dean!

And to be fair to Carl, Nala is definitely not a typical cat. In addition to being very well behaved in public places, in many ways, she can be like a dog.

Wow! What an awesome place! Of course its at the top of a hill! All natural fortifications. I love the juxtaposition of the super old watchtower to the brand new trampoline. Mr Clam was VERY NICE and look how sweet his daughter was. She really took to Nala. Great trip!!!

Hi Dean Nala your camera work is great and all the drone pictures fabulous , I wish we had av had all these things when I was young , it all amazes me but at 77years it’s all very mystifying to me .the castle great , I don’t know how you do all this travelling and all the red tape to sort out for yourself and Nala it must be mind boggling . You are well clued up and a very competent young man your family must be extremely proud of you , I have followed all your travels and enjoyed everyone and watch them over and over again my 2 rescued cats watch Nala especially when she is playing , the castle is very interesting thank you for showing us all these things love you both do take care both of you X
Within Europe it's pretty easy, as we've removed internal borders (not external). Dean can travel freely in Europe. There's a passport for pets in Europe and that helps a great deal.
This is interesting it sounds easy the way you explain it , I guess once you understand how the passports for the pets work etc . The more you travel the easier it all gets I wish when I was much younger I would have traveled around the world it wonderful to see all the beautiful places and meet all the kind people think at 77 nearly 78 will just have to watch all the young ones doing it Jean uk
