Keep in mind that the Haslet Trim pieces are installed around existing windows that already have J-channels installed. The J-channel installation stays because (1) it is not that noticeable after the Haslet Trim is installed; (2) it would require a lot of effort (remove the window, remove the J-channels, etc...); (3) the J-channel installation, as ugly as it is, keeps water leaks away, so why take out another layer of defense?
Question Mark? Did you do this for demonstration only or is this a permanent addition? If a permanent addition, why didn't you remove the old J channels?
This is a permanent installation of the frames. The existing J-channels are embedded in the window structure. It would require removing the window at a minimum.
Why did you leave the j channel?
