As a Scot who had a relative who had to shelter in place because of health conditions when COVID 19 first hit. I remember getting clear instructions on what to do to keep our relative safe from the Scottish government. Then our relative would watch Boris on the Tv and we would have to explain to them why they had to shelter in place. I was talking to a family member who is a nurse in Wales and what they told me about the Westminster government is not surprising. She told us when Swine flu was predicted to sweep the world a pandemic protocol was put in place. When then pandemic didn't hit the protocol was shelved and cuts to the NHS continued against what medical professionals were saying and then COVID19 hit.

I was in an NHS meeting on Friday 13th March at St. Andrew's House in Edinburgh - I don't think anyone could truly comprehend the enormity of the challenges that lay ahead. The pandemic has had a huge impact on me and my work, at times feeling like I'm still in 2020. Our politicians were in panic mode, some not fit for office, some not open about what they were doing. The use of WhatsApp - where I work we locked down and did not permit the use of the app at all, the same approach was implemented for Zoom too. As for message deletion, our messages are deleted on a weekly basis, that's a system setting for security that runs to this date.
Deleted for security? So civil servants undertaking official business on behalf of Scottish citizens, are under no obligation to record & log work related date/information? Wow. It sounds extremely shady when you consider you're paid via the public purse to serve the public. Sorry, none of that info should have been deleted.

In absolute terms, no. Sturgeon said on more than one occasion that mistakes had been/would be made. She included herself in that. In the context of the ongoing crisis she faced I think she made, at worst, a reasonable job of it.
