Nicola Sturgeon caught out by QC on why Kate Forbes wasn't at Gold Command meetings

- Nicola Sturgeon said that her “only motivation” during the Covid-19 pandemic was to do the “best we could” to keep people as safe as possible.
Ms Sturgeon was asked by Jamie Dawson KC why former finance secretary Kate Forbes did not attend Gold command meetings until 2021.
Mr Dawson showed notes from Liz Lloyd, Ms Sturgeon's Chief of Staff, from one Gold Meeting where finances had been discussed yet the SNP's Minister for Finance was not present.
The former first minister said that her office had been copied into emails about meetings and that Ms Forbes would have been able to attend had she wanted to. Mr Dawson said: “She wasn’t one of the right people to have at the table?”
Ms Sturgeon had previously argued that Ms Forbes wouldn't have been present at Gold Command meetings as financial issues may not have been discussed.
Ms Sturgeon said: “All I was interested in was having around the able the people that we needed to inform the decisions that we were taking.”
She insisted Ms Forbes was not excluded from any discussions she should have been party to and that she was an extremely valued member of cabinet as well as “competent and professional”.
Ms Sturgeon added: “I did not operate on any issue that sought to exclude people from decision making. I tried to lead from the front, I tried to shoulder my fair share of the decision making, sometimes deliberately more than my fair share, given the severity and the difficulty of decisions that were being made. I also had a responsibility to see the whole picture.”

Big difference to her performances in front of the Scottish Parliament, where she knows no-one can stand up to her, or prove her wrong - because she has all the important figures in her pocket, and she knows most if not all the evidence has been taken care of or redacted or is deemed not in the public interest. She must have felt rather isolated here and is not used to being questioned by someone who is not in the slightest impressed by her 'power'. She looked like a cowed dog on occasion. I hope there is worse to come for her.

Wouldn’t we all liked to have been a fly on the wall when the Shipman sisters took the decision to kill off our elderly In contaminated Care Homes how powerful did she feel then? That she had committed genocide of the people of Scotland did she sleep well because she had cut the pension bill with her actions? Strutting around with her vile army of blue faces that she was also taking for fools. This Branchform enquiry is becoming a joke something that’s costing the tax payers yet again why are the police dragging their heels? Perhaps finding it all too difficult to rub the mud off themselves and the judiciary who have looked the other way at the crimes being committed by a bunch of amateurs playing party politics fooling the people who supported them. What have we learned? Scotland paid a vey high price for Tony Blair’s experiment DISSOLVE THE DEVOLVED.

She is the prime example of why people don't trust any politcal party,no matter who your alliance are to.. I'm 62 and year's ago a MP was held in high regard.. today, most people think there just as corrupt as a thief,embesling tax payers money for fun..
I think you'll find that she was trusted during the pandemic, and that her ratings were fine at that point. The damage was done over party finances, mostly academic now because she was already gone by the time that broke. Most of this is fuelled by animosity - she has never an easy person to deal with and her reputation has also gone down with the rest of her party - jaded and in power too long. But for perspective, the SNP have never been as corrupt as their predecessors of 46 years, which is why they are still in power.

Her "Office " was notified, but Forbes was NOT invited to attend the meetings. Anyone who knows anything about setting up meetings, Agendas and invitations to attendees can see right through this. There was an "inner circle" that Forbes was not part of. Minutes were not taken and decisions were just notified without any record.
Management training was clearly lacking but is essential for politicians and / or their secretaries and civil servants. Devolution is a failed experiment costing the country Billions.
Forbes was just asked to attend when they were desperate to get UK funding to lock us down again.
