I don't think the romantic type of love is special. And I think that the romantic type of love isn't even real. I mean about more than half of romantic couples either break up with each other or divorce each other, while most platonic best friends remain friends until death.
I think that having a platonic best friend is a lot better than having a romantic partner or spouse is. Having someone who's like a sibling to you is a lot better than having a romantic partner is. Also, you would more likely be much closer to a person who's like a brother or sister to you than you would be with a partner or spouse.
People tend to fight with their partner or spouse a lot more than they do with a platonic best friend, and you never fight with your best friend the way you fight with your partner or spouse. Partners and spouses are just temporary. If you break up or divorce them, it's hard to go back to them. With your platonic best friend, you're going to make things work, because they are your best friend, they are your go to partner. It's always easier to make amends with them than it is with a romantic partner or spouse.

Love is real, you've probably just never experienced it and that's OK. A friendship is great and even if you're in a relationship you should keep close friendships, but it's not nearly as rewarding or intimate. They are two different things.
Yes, a lot of relationships fail. But the way I see it, it pays more to focus on the ones that don't and try to figure out why they succeeded.

@@yamilsenior Platonic friendships tend to be stronger than marriages and romantic relationships. Romantic love is not special at all, and it is fake. Platonic love is however real and special. Married couples usually have a divorce and fall apart, but platonic best friends will usually remain friends with each other forever.
Also, a platonic best friend usually came first in a person's life long before their romantic partner did.
Usually, a platonic best friend comes early in a person's life, while a romantic partner comes later on, so they are going to usually be a lot closer to their platonic best friend than they are to their romantic partner due to the fact that their platonic best friend has been in their life a lot longer than their romantic partner has.

@@yamilsenior A person usually has known their platonic best friend a lot longer than they have known their romantic partner. Childhood friends are some of the most closest friends you could ever have.
There are many kinds of friendship: work friends, school friends, drinking buddies and more. Yet one of the very closest types of friendship is that of childhood friends. Before you have to worry about the shock of betrayal or the possibility of romance, this is the friend that will always have your back. No one knows you better than them. And it shows when childhood friends are treated more intimately or are trusted more than other friends.

@@yamilsenior Since many friends have known each other since childhood, they're very likely to be best friends. Regardless of what form it takes, the experiences they've shared since childhood is what forms and strengthens their bond.

I think a lot of people misinterprete romantic relationships with sexual relationships because in both instances they incorporate Romance and somewhat exclusive (not every relationship is exclusive). And instead, base their Lust as a foundation of the entire relationship before actually forming an emotional attachment/bond with their partner. Which leads to relationships failing and not lasting long, because they don't actually get along with them, having chemistry rather than compatibility.
Friendships on the other hand last longer because they are more casual, usually have compatibility, and have less expectations than what an exclusive relationship has.
It makes you wonder why don't people just date their friends, but as you know, most people aren't as attracted to their friends than with people they actually fancy, which invokes more of an emotion than an attachment.
It makes matters worse, because people tend to separate that lust and attachment through people and make decisions within dating through their emotions rather than logic.
Hense also why, people get into poor relationships.
Which brings you to that conclusion, because you see relationships with people don't last and experienced that the friendships that you have had has lasted longer than those relationships.
