Bruce Johnston - London interview (1975)

Bruce Johnston's friendly Californian demeanour belies the fact he is one serious talent, singer, songwriter and producer. One didn't get offered a lead role in the Beach Boys without credentials, and Johnston's tenure included Pet Sounds and contributing songs to the Beach Boys canon. Interviews in London in 1975, Johnston talks about his label formed with Terry Melcher, and offers his take on the inner machinations of the Beach Boys. Bruce is naturally a positive, relaxed guy. He stays away from drugs. He's a unique Beach Boy in that he has always been a massive fan of everything Brian Wilson did but stood against the partying, drug-using lifestyle.
