There’s something so peaceful about the snow, the utilitarian nature of the plow, the one man against nature, put in the hours helping out the community. It’s all very satisfying. Thank you for posting.

Growing up in central NY and living in the NE and MW regions, I’ve always enjoyed plowing/blowing snow… even if I lacked the enclosed cab feature for my garden tractor, I’d still be out there, bundled up like “Nanick of the North”, plowing my driveway and sidewalks, along w/ that of my neighbors…. Always enjoy the ambiance of plowing later in the evening - scent of fireplaces burning logs, the dark and starry sky, the cold making your nose runny and your eyes tearing up, the deafening quiet and stillness of the night, w/ the only noise being the sound of your tractor, blade and it’s tire chains on the packed snow surface…almost a magical time

In Washington state they fired all the good plow drivers during covid for not wanting to take the “mandated” jab. It ruined access to multiple passes out here for months because the experienced drivers were fired. It was so disgusting that they did that to people that were so important to those areas.

Skied in Tahoe several times. Opened the door to a wall of powder. It may well have been your dad who cleared our road enabling us to get to the resorts. We stayed between the Bridgetender and Homewood. If it was him, God bless him. I love Tahoe but it’s a rich man’s game now. Best wishes from the UK.

Growing up in Minnesota, I learned the concept of space management. Basically, it means, where do you put the snow. When looking at new homes I always have that in the back of my head and decided against some houses because there was no place to put the snow.
Parts of me would love to take over for these guys to give them a break. Alas, I live in CO and we have our own share of snow. Thankfully, I have a beast of a snowblower. Even with the wet heavy snow we got Mid March, it was still able to throw it far enough. When the snow is light and fluffy, it can throw it about 30 feet!!
I love blowing snow, I love being out in the winter helping others out.
My neighbors like it when I am out as I do as much as I can of their driveways.

This the kind of weather where people get stuck at home for 2 weeks and can’t even leave for supplies or medicine and tons of medical calls that ambulances can’t get too. I haven’t seen a light besides his so I’m sure the power got knocked out so no one has power and you better have a wood stove and a good generator with back up gas because unless you have a straight snow wheeler you ain’t getting to the gas station. This the weather they don’t even pull over the side by sides or lifted trucks with tags out of date. This is the same area Jeremy Rener the actor lived when he slipped on the steel tracks of his snow cat and broke everything and almost died. But he had to have a snow cat just to keep his road clear. Lots of these are private roads so the county doesn’t plow or provide services on private roads. I live on one and the guy at the top of the hill bought a smaller one just because we’d have 3-4 feet and they’d wouldn’t plow they go by and leave a berm from the regular road even tho ours is paved it’s not owned by the city we had to pay to get it paved it was dirt

@@Lorddurangoanyone who wishes for snow over an inch has never lived in it. Literally the only cool thing no pun intended is the beauty but other than that everything else about the snow fucking SUCKS. Everything hurts more. Everything takes way longer to do. It takes my 15 min drive into 1hr15 min to get the city it’s 15 miles and the speed limit is 55 but you can only do 10-15 going down so if you can go 15 miles an hour it’s gonna take me an hour plus for what usually takes 15 maybe 20 min

I was with the California Conservation Corps at their Tahoe Center when this was happening and man it sure was crazy. The amount of calls we got just to help shovel out the roofs of local high schools and elementaries is something i'll never forget. We were out there for about 10hrs a day just shoveling and sometimes it'd rain so we'd all be freezing cold by the end of the day! When it was all done though, it was super rewarding to hear from those people we helped all those cold months :) hopefully the snow doesnt get as bad as it was this yr.

I am happy to live in a neighbourhood where more than 5-6 inch of snow is a rarity in one day. And we also have a fleet of new JCB loaders to push it around for us on those days, so I guess we are pampered. Nice to see what your day is like. Feel free to comment a little more. I liked seeing the snow from inside especially during a storm. It was the cold and aftermath of dealing with it that I couldn't take.
That's partly what brought us far enough south to a place which averages 3" of snow per year. Much better now.

I've never seen so much snow in my life, as a southerner, but wow! The snow is like liquid to the plow! It's mesmerizing to see how the snow moves with the plow!
At this point, what's the reason for plowing? Some cars are almost completely covered in snow (which is insane to me). Who are you plowing for? Is it more to just make sure it doesn't become a bigger problem in the future? These are dangerous conditions! Whose driving in this? Also how do you know where the road starts and ends?! I'm sure it's not an easy job, but good on you for helping the community! (Also my questions are genuine questions since I've never experienced snow like this before)

I grew up off of Lake Ontario and we got a lot of lake effect snow, I've been over Truckee in the winter in an 18-wheeler headed east and barely made it before it closed down the interstate. I'm in the Philippines now, it is December 30th, and it is about 75 f out at 8pm.

I've lived in Florida my whole life and only visted places where it snows a couple times. This is really cool to see. Definitely looks like youve done this before 👍😎

We will do the route up to 4 times a day if it is snowing hard. Lots of work this winter! Thank you for watching!

You know you’re in the high rent district when your driveway AND the roads are plowed in tandem. Where I live we’re lucky if our road is plowed and if they do come through you’re lucky if your mailbox survives.
A job well done and conscientiously executed!

I love plowing snow. I use a Cat 930M and a Cat 950M. Personally I like the 930 but the 950 can handle a lot more in the big pushes and can stack higher when needed. Thanks for sharing this vid tho. Give me something to look forward to on the snow days.
