Ever since I sang in Yiddish in “Talk Dirty to Me” everyone’s been begging me to do another song in Yiddish! So I took Gwen Stefani’s “Rich Girl,” (which samples “If I Were A Rich Man” from Fiddler on the Roof) and returned it to its roots! I also added a chorus in Yiddish so keep your ears open 😘

CURIOUS FACT:
This song is a vintage cover from Rich Girl (2004), a song based on a tune from the 70s musical "Fiddler on the Roof", which, at the same time, is an adaptation of the Broadway musical from the 60s.

As a Jew who never got to attend Hebrew school (I was raised in a Christian household) I LOVE this! Any chance I get to practice Yiddish in my late 40's is worth it.

@@trabant3060 it also takes notes from Slavic languages as well as german and I wouldn't say brutalized... is Portuguese brutalized Spanish, Italian, and French?
@@trabant3060 Yiddish is a language, spoken for hundreds of years in Central and East Europe. It contains Hebrew words, Polish words, Russian words and German words, with its own grammar. There were three language-zones with different vocalization until the Shoah and Second World War. Yiddish is a language of culture, rich history and literature. No need to find derogatory words for something you seemingly don't understand.
@@knules2 No it isn't. They all came from the same language.. Latin, and portuguese has more phonetic sounds that the other 3 you mentioned. :)
