Speaking strictly though there is no expectation of privacy when on government property. I had a job with a federal office that got broken into 3 or more times (most likely by janitors, security of all people or maintenance. I lost a couple of personal items and probably $1,000 or more in federal property including a chair! I mean that is something you can easily carry and put in a car. After multiple times I routed security concerns to the security team at HQ and was told almost word for word that if I don't want something personal stolen to remove it from the site. oddly installing a full time camera let alone a hidden one is against policy without express written permission ahead of time. Once I noticed the office had been entered as I had implemented a DIY string intrusion detection system and notified security before touching the handle that they should get a fingerprint kit from the PD. As everyone on site has their fingerprints on file. Was yelled at for my Supervisor for that and not to bother security for useless issues. Also had the second highest person maybe third highest boss on my site for my division expressly say I should haver no expectation of privacy at any time on site.

@@ruledbysaturn I don’t think you read the full comment I made. Below the main text is a post statement saying “for any idiots of course the bathrooms and breast feeding room would be considered off limits” those are the only areas you can expect some privacy though technically it may be legal to have audio recording as creepy as that would be. As any other employee could walk in the bathroom as well and hear anything you say. The breastfeeding room would be the 100% private room as you would not have another woman walk in at the time your using the room.

@@ruledbysaturn not to say I agree with this as I don’t. This was wrong most likely. I don’t know what the report says but seems it may not been to see her undress. As they actually talked about aiming to see the screen which makes little sense. Like was it an undercover investigation? For not making proper reports or doing the job? Or was this just some weird sick spy cam for whatever reason.

    • @raphaelvermin
      @raphaelvermin 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

@@philiplubduck6107 nobody was trying to see her undress. Its common that every room in a government installation is under 24 hour surveillance and not all the cameras are immediately visible.
Like the other poster talked about there are very specific areas where an expectation of privacy is assumed but an office especially a shared space office is NOT an area of expected privacy in a government facility. Changing there is honestly inappropriate of the officers in the first place. Why are they not using the locker room or bathrooms like the other officers.
This camera was clearly there to investigate corruption. Funny how the cops that saw it dont want to be recorded but they'll put up cameras anywhere and everywhere they can and tell people "if you dont have anything to hide you have nothing to worry about" almost makes you think these officers have more to hide than just them cheeks. @@lisagrafton2529 They're installing a camera. The person who said "do you want it to capture more of her computer" is asking a legitimate question. Nor is he part of any investigation, nor is he the person who will be watching any videos.
It's a camera. It's hidden. It's purpose is to record the occupants of the room. What do you think it's there to see if roaches are crawling out of the vent? Maybe some Russian trained roach spies? Use your brain lady.
When you install a camera and the guy you hired asks if you would like the camera to record more of the front room, or the screen to the right. He's asking you a question so you're not unsatisfied with the work he did.
Please use your brain next time, this is how people spend their entire lives with disdain for an incident because they can't think for themselves. The woman also got fired for legitimate reasons. If someone lied about her not searching a suspect and charging him with incorrect or false charges, she would've had a million dollar lawsuit on her hands and multiple people would've been losing their jobs. Also it's all public information, you can read about her firing online. Again, *Use Your Brain.*
State police found no wrong doing. City officials found no wrong doing. Before the woman even noticed the camera one of the guys complained about it and was told to not worry about it.
Do you think the state police also hate this lady? They don't even know her.
*Me* - Mam, would you like your surveillance camera to film less of *her* screen or more of the wall?
*You* - Yeah more of her screen is good.
*This lady* - OH MY GOD the camera positioned above my head to film the entire room and multiple computer *AND* the entrance was put there to spy on me!
*TH-cam morons and the news* - Gasp. The IT guy asked if the camera meant to record the people and the property in the room should record her screen more clearly!! Omg omg. Hurry. Let's not use our brains and pretend they're all the same person and they all have ill intent.
*USE YOUR BRAIN.* She was fired. She's mad. She's a bad police officer, it's a precinct riddled with problems and they wanted to catch the problems.
Should it have been hidden? No. Was it illigal or wrong? No. The goal was to not alert them to see what laws they're willing to break, or what constitutional rights there violating from public citizens. Such as the person she violated and got fired for.
They seen the camera, the gig is over. It's now in a public spot. If there was a problem, state police wouldn't say there isn't a problem.

    • @SixSnax
      @SixSnax 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@lisagrafton2529 Also proving my point about you pretending all the men are the same person. You refer to the incident as *THEY* wanted to what she did and said. No. The police chief wanted to see what she did and said.
You're stating the obvious without realizing how ridiculous you sound, while simultaneously trying to twist reality to fit a narrative that doesn't exist.
This is why people are crazy today. Media and social media alike has people's brains spinning. No one knows what is what anymore.
Media and social media aren't required to be ethical. They're not required to be logical. They're not required to be truthful. They're allowed to manipulate and deceive.
You don't even know what you're saying anymore. They recording captured the IT guy asking if it should film her screen better. Everyone refers to that as a key point.
Well what the heck should he have said then? God forbid he used her s pronoun, she's a female. Should he have asked if the camera should record more of *it's* screen? Is she an it now?
You state the obvious while also trying to twist it. The camera was set there to record the occupants. It's a camera for Christs sake. And then you say they wanted to see what she did and what she said. As if for some reason that wasn't obvious...
*ITS A CAMERA, NO SH_T THEY WANTED TO SEE WHAT SHE DID AND WHAT SHE SAID.*
Question. The camera is still up.cshe doesn't work there. Are they trying to get a glimpse of an alternate dimension now? Maybe they want to see what she's doing in a timeline where she wasn't fired?
Lmao! I can't. Imagine being a 6th grade drop out who is deaf and was raised in poverty. Yet somehow the able bodied people are all going nuts.
I often cant help but assume it's because of my deafness. Because I don't have to listen to the bull crap you guys and the media spew out every day, all day.
But the I catch myself and I remember. But this is all common sense. With a single functioning brain cell between a family of 4 I could still figure this all out. So what's the problem?
Idk. I guess the camera that was placed to record people in the room and what they say is bad because it recorded people in the room and what they said. 👌

It's an office, not a bathroom, or locker room. No expectation of privacy. When I was a cashier at a popular department store, there was a camera over the register, as well as the product room in the back. They shouldn't be changing clothes in an office. If the chief is a perv, there will be other indications of that, likely in his private life as well. If guilty, he'll get his due, but this is not a crime.

This segment is loaded - so watch both and make your own mind up.
She is also a demoted Sgt, who hides behind motherhood/being a woman to try and get special treatment... Obviously this does not reflect all women in law enforcement - I just think in this case she is using a dodgy camera placement to push out a chief who will have gotten rid of her & is now trying to get an angle.

There is no law against monitoring spaces in a building you own in New Mexico, providing you post a warning that the space is under video and or audio surveillance. They made no mention of any such sign.
To have surveillance without that warning, you need a warrant, even if it’s your own building. It appears officers changed in that space and at least one other officer was unaware of the camera. Certainly, if it’s your office and no one else is in it, you would expect that you could change your outfit without someone watching you.
If you want to know what someone is doing on their computer, there’s this thing called a data logger which can monitor everything that goes on. Also, at my place of work everything goes through servers owned by my employer and there’s a record of every single transaction. So if the employee is using the system networks, there is no need for external monitoring at all.
I feel we don’t know the entire story here and perhaps another investigation is warranted.

Yup you’re right what you’ve stated. The difference between a citizen and a dirty pig cop is. A dirty pig cop knows all the loopholes and elements of a crimes. And always skillfully finds loopholes to weasel his way out. Not to mention if you’re in the good-ole-boy system in law enforcement. Conducting an investigation by putting a hidden camera directly above her…YEAH RIGHT??? BS

I don’t give a fucking shit about her rights should be not recorded in an office room not the changing room if the camera was in the changing room hidden then yes that would be a big issue put it in an office space it doesn’t matter that only one person work a shift it’s to someone is Office actually says it’s an office not the changing room with a computer inside
Are you going to complain about the rest of the cameras around the station because they recording you oh what about going out and then getting told that you want the camera is turning off around the city or are you going to accept people who are citizens of the United States have the right without being bullied by the police to record your stops and you as a lawful reason you can’t have both

Gloria , It's Alleged, Just because she's a female doesn't make her words absolute. Cant play the female victim card on everything, because your feelings were hurt that you dont agree with. She should have filed a grievance and started an internal investigation. That would have been the proper channels to pursue something like this, and would have protected her job for whistleblowing.. Second this could be a motivation for retaliation for getting FIRED, Wonder what her service records would show about her conduct during her employment as an officer, for all we know she was a bully and Tyrant with the people

Your not too bright huh. They don't call them hidden cameras for nothing. Not a single damn thing wrong here. She's looking for a pay day. That is a 2.8 lens camera. WIDE ANGLED LENS in lamen terms. If she was targeted, they would have used a 3.8 or 9.22 lens and would only have covered her area for better resolution. She's a joke and so is the new channel.

If they caught her changing her clothes and still keep the camera a secret, pointed at the desk of the only female who uses the office consistently, then that's grounds for porn without consent. Filming people where they're KNOWN to change or relieve themselves, like dressing rooms and bathrooms but also offices (since the locker rooms are sometimes super uncomfortable). I think those men overheard a conversation about locking the office when no one's around so she could change privately, and they decided to film a peep show for themselves or possibly blackmail.
