That colleague would need to have access to the Power BI dataset, either in the workspace or if it was shared with them. They would then be able to refresh the Excel workbook and PivotTables, but not the actual full dataset that was published in Power BI - which would have to be done in the Power BI service.
Thank you. Is it possible to connect to a report instead of a dataset? I use a shared dataset(created by others) and I add measures, then pubblish the report. When i try the Analyze in excel, i don't have my measures, but only the ones existing already in the dataset.
What about if this gets very slow when using it in excel? Currently dealing with that issue using a model of around 600,000 rows data set and 4 demension tables filtering it.
Wonderful... We can validate the data in Excel itself...great thanks for the sharing...
Glad you enjoyed!
You guys are the greatest here and love the videos very much!
Glad to hear that!
Thank you, i love your energy and how you explain
I appreciate that! Thanks for watching!
Great stuff. If I send the excel file (already connected to PowerBI) to a colleague, Would that colleague be able to refresh him/herself?

Thanks. Very clear explanation. One question - how to fresh the data or reconnect back to the same dataset? Thanks.
The data will be refreshed inside the model at Power BI service. This can be done manually, or with a scheduled refresh.
VERY USEFULL ! THANKS FOR SHARİNG!
Glad you enjoyed!

Probably you need to request more capacity for your worskapce with your IT team.
Can I save this excel sheet on my desktop for further use.
Absolutely, you can save this sheet just like you would with any other excel file!
