The more learn about Denny's the more I want to go out for breakfast......at different restaurant! Preferably an local independently owned and operated Mom and Pop's establishment!
Our local Denny's had some real spotty service. Sometimes when we went in, it would be pretty decent. Other times, we would walk in -- on a slow night! -- and wait 5 minutes before someone finally came out to seat us, the only diners waiting. While I enjoyed the food, I'm not going to miss the at times crapful service.
Its been a while since I have been to a Dennys as there are none anywhere near me.. Boy do I wish there where a Dennys here though. There are some great breakfast places here but my favorite breakfast is exactly Dennys fare style breakfast and Smitty's does not even come close. At least it was always hot at Dennys.
I reckon they should bring back the donuts with their coffee, to compete with Dunkin' and Tim Hortons. I mean, they are a family restaurant that profits of competition with every other restaurant out there, after all.
Spent much time at Dennys on Sunset Blvd by the 101 after an evening at the clubs on the Strip (sorry if that sounds pretentious and pompous, but its true.)
March 19th 2022 approximately 11:20 p.m. I arrived at Denny's restaurant in O'Fallon Illinois where I was treated me like the s word. I walked inside the restaurant I noticed only one black person in there, not unusual for O'Fallon Illinois however there was a line, a group of whites, a 58 year old black male which is myself and behind me no one for at least 45 minutes I figured business was slow but come to believe there were other reasons after a group of whites showed up behind me at that time a waitress come to the line walk past me and try to assist the group of whites behind me I inform them that I was standing here they act like I wasn't there and still offered them a second option and still not serving me. I'm not believing what I'm seeing because in my 58 years I have never been a part of racism. It hurts a lot and feels like crap I wish I was a part of the group that sued Denny's or wish I had a case and a lawyer is there anything I can do?
Every Denny’s I know went to shit and eventually closed down.

We have 10 mom and pop diners that are so much better than Denny's. I rank Denny's dead last behind taco bell and sonic when it comes to breakfast

Denny's is far better than IHOP
Denny's has lots of Gluten Free options

The food is always fresh cooked well and I always got my food on time.

They only take care to give the late night drunks good service and quality food but the rest of us get lousy service and crappy food

I went to Denny's for decades but they BLAST the music too loud. I guess they wanna make the customers deaf. We won't go there anymore.
