One year and on with the Jazz SV idtec and now 19,000kms! This car definitely ticks all my boxes in terms of safety, build quality, mileage, roooomy cabin, excellent ride quality and the suspension feels really good and is slightly on to the lighter side which absorbs all the potholes and bumps. I checked out Baleno before buying the Jazz, but trust me the Baleno offers poor quality to match up with its price. Think before buying, there's no point in saving those extra money and buying a car of low safety standards, build quality.
I own Honda Jazz VX diesel......driving since 6 months...on road getting avg of 16/17 in city traffic with AC ON (Mumbai). Drive quality is awesome, yes initial pick up is slow but after that it flies. I did test drive for Baleno, Ertiga, Polo, and Jazz. Baleno built quality and inside material is not up to the mark of "Premium Hatchback" whereas Jazz scores well in this point. Jazz is very practical, good mileage, very spacious inside cabin....v good boot space....good leg room for rear passengers....its personal choice to choose between these 2 cars....both are equally good. I was driving Maruti car since 14 years hence i opted for another brand and Honda is tried and tested. Polo was my first choice but there is little leg room for rear passengers also less avg and Ertiga's seats are not comfortable for long drive.......Either car (Jazz or Baleno) is equally good.

before buying baleno plz see its euro safety test. remember family safety is top priority specifically for a car which is a good long distance drivable car. i love the baleno but becz of its lighter frame its safety has been clearly compromised. compare jazz to it and u will see the safety standards. i was looking forward to buying a baleno but i changed my mind when i saw the car Hit a skoda rapid behind. the skoda didn't even get a scratch while the baleno got royally crumpled from the accident. if u r sure to take it around in cities only where max speed is not more than 80km/hr then go for the peppy baleno but if u have a family and u care about their safety go for the jazz. ur life in ur hand..... cheers

Jazz is a globally successful model, looks very stylish Inside too you shall come across huge space and sheer premiumness too with safety features like dual airbags, ABS and EBD. Mileage is good enough, petrol engine is super refIned and quite as a winter night so much so that you wont feel at all that the ignition is on. extremely enjoyable and a stable car to drive. I dont want gimick and eye washing features. I have JUZZ petrol, in city getting 16-18 KMPL, Thumps up to Jazz!

Sir you didnt mention about the first in class magic seats on Jazz. That is a real advantage when we go for long rides. First in Class Auto Ac with touch Control panel on Jazz also you missed out. Also in terms of Panel quality, Jazz is way ahead than Baleno

some people are complaining of the build quality of baleno cos its light weighted and suspension, but baleno still manages the highest selling car in the premium hatch segment , over jazz and i20....i wonder how... lol the fact is that its the most lightest yet safest, fuel efficient, loaded with features vehicle which yields you peace of mind and value for money. it sells over 10000 a month than i20 which was the segment leader, its cos of its superb styling and cabin space, plus the safety feature and the maruti suzuki badge which offers gud affter sales service, YOU CAN GO FOR IT

Today I bought Honda Jazz CVT (pearl white) and must thank you Ashish Masih _/\_ for the brilliant job of comparing both the cars, which helped me choose Jazz over Baleno. Its looks dint impress me initially but, the color of Pearl White struck me so beautifully that it smoothly changed my opinion (when compared with Baleno). Yet It was a tough call between both, but Honda certainly excels in the areas of build quality, after sales service, and durability. Took me a short while to go with its tagline of "Nothing else is a Jazz!" :)
9 places to put the water bottles!. I own a jazz v cvt. I am not finding a proper place for at least one water bottle. The door bins are almost non-existent. The one beside steering wheel cannot hold the bottle tightly. Still I am still happy with my Jazz as the ride quality is miles ahead of the competition.
Hmmm...I won't suggest Jazz CVT. The pickup is very dull & the mileage is not good. If you try to get pickup, mileage drops drastically. There is nothing in this car that bring a smile on your face. I am already thinking to get rid of this sluggish ass in just my 2 months of ownership.
AC is good. But mileage sucks. You need to drive it like a grandfather to get decent mileage. Normal(need not be insane) driving gives very low mileage. Baleno CVT is good in all aspects except for the low seating.

Why would it be different for ladies? They don't change technology with gender. I think the main concern might be the driving position so the lady will have to take test drive and decide. Features you can look up anywhere. Transmission wise I would suggest Jazz for automatic, very smooth.

Bro. These are additional features.. Necessary features are Safety, Comfort, Performance, build quailty.. Even I wanted to buy baleno, But then I went to Honda showroom and fell in love with Jazz.. 1) Safety wise:- Jazz is much better than baleno.. It has scored 5 star rating from most of the rating agencies.. 2) Comfort wise: Baleno's rear seat is too flat, Under thigh support in jazz is better.. Headroom is lower than Jazz & middle passenger will find it difficult to adjust the feet as floor hump is high.. 3) Boot space in Jazz is 354 ltr.. Best in this category.. So you can easily keep 4-5 bags in it.. But In baleno, loading lip is high and car's suspesions have occupied good amount of space.. 4) Build Quality: I won't say anthing on this because everybody knows Honda's standard.. 5) As the reviewer said, Jazz's glsss area is good and Honda has given small cup holders.. And believe me, they are very useful.. AC is very powerful.. 6) Performance: Baleno's milege is better than Jazz.. Performance wise it is good car.. It is lighter than Jazz.. They have given R16 tyres.. In jazz, you will get R15 tyres.. I don't knw if it really makes any difference.. Because many hatchbacks are having R14 tyres and I don't see any problems in that.. Overall Jazz is better package.. BUT.. In 1 imp area, Maruti Suzuki is better than Honda.. and that is Maintenance.. Maruti Suzuki service centers are available in every part of India.. Its maintenance cost is low.. And its service intervals are good.. i.e. 1 year.. Honda's service interval is 6 months means double maintenance cost.. And Honda has completed my 3 free services in 6 months only.. (1 month, 3 months, 6 months) Who drives 10000 km in 6 months?? This is my honest feedback.. Except the last point, Jazz beats Baleno in every aspect..
How is the performance of Jazz automatic? Is the initial pickup same as that of the manual version? I didn't like the initial pickup of Honda brio MT, it was slow..
baleno offers dual airbag and abs from base variant but jazz offers the same only at third variant... looks like Honda is not bothered abt passenger safety...
If Honda is so confident then they should not provide airbag in any of their variants... I don't agree this reason for not giving airbag and abs in base or even base+1 models...

Both cars are good at their position, they have their own importance. even i have baleno but i like honda jass as well as baleno. at last, both cars are too good.
Baleno is more expensive buddy.. And it offers better features than Swift Dezire.. Similarly, i 20 is more expensive than Xcent.. and Jazz is more expensive than Amaze.. Length wise these cars are same, but width wise I20 is bigger than Xcent, Baleno is bigger than Dezire and Jazz=Amaze.. So you will get more space in Premium hatchbacks.. In Baleno, rear seat foot space is good, but in Dezire, your knees will touch the front seats.. And features like push button start, touch screen display, UV glass, Arms rest are not available in Dezire.. Thats why Baleno is more expensive..
+spartan actually there is push button and keyless start in dzire and even in d swift hatch. but that car is not as good as the baleno. the baleno is premium and the best premium hatch by maruti so far.

hyundai elite i20 diesel sports model is good car. Streeing is light, Good brake & engine performance. All are good but while driving in cities you have to work more on gears compare to baleno driving in cities.

+ashish Is the car (CVT model) able to climb on hills and slopes with 5 people sitting (as the car itself is heavy)? Does the CVT gearbox work properly without giving any jerks while shifting gears? Is there enough acceleration while pick up? Lastly can we add rear AC vents as an after market accessory?
Atish Gandhi it easily climbs uphill, no issue with 5 ppl..no jerks in gear shift.. acceleration isn't as quick as baleno or i20 but inside space is class leading ..and engine is very smooth at cruising speeds

Even I wanted to buy baleno, But then I went to Honda showroom and fell in love with Jazz..
1) Safety wise:- Jazz is much better than baleno.. It has scored 5 star rating from most of the rating agencies..
2) Comfort wise: Baleno's rear seat is too flat, Under thigh support in jazz is better.. Headroom is lower than Jazz & middle passenger will find it difficult to adjust the feet as floor hump is high..
3) Boot space in Jazz is 354 ltr.. Best in this category.. So you can easily keep 4-5 bags in it..
But In baleno, loading lip is high and car's suspesions have occupied good amount of space..
4) Build Quality: I won't say anthing on this because everybody knows Honda's standard..
5) As the reviewer said, Jazz's glsss area is good and Honda has given small cup holders.. And believe me, they are very useful.. AC is very powerful..
6) Performance: Baleno's milege is better than Jazz.. Performance wise it is good car.. It is lighter than Jazz..
They have given R16 tyres.. In jazz, you will get R15 tyres..
I don't knw if it really makes any difference.. Because many hatchbacks are having R14 tyres and I don't see any problems in that..
Overall Jazz is better package..
BUT..
In 1 imp area, Maruti Suzuki is better than Honda..
and that is Maintenance..
Maruti Suzuki service centers are available in every part of India..
Its maintenance cost is low..
And its service intervals are good.. i.e. 1 year..
Honda's service interval is 6 months means double maintenance cost..
And Honda has completed my 3 free services in 6 months only.. (1 month, 3 months, 6 months)
Who drives 10000 km in 6 months??
This is my honest feedback..
Except the last point, Jazz beats Baleno in every aspect..

You must start including what safety features are offered across all variants in car reviews.
How is the performance of Jazz automatic? Is the initial pickup same as that of the manual version? I didn't like the initial pickup of Honda brio MT, it was slow..
rage against bs I have a brand new CVT Jazz. Slow take off and quite noisy. Love it none the less.
always mention safety features and after sales service in each comparison
What about the elite i20? it is also a premium hatchback in the list

one thing I hate about jazz is it comes with too many Windows, it's hard to go on a long road trip in summer in country like India.

yes..there was a little stiffness in the rear suspention..but maruti fixed this issue

baleno offers dual airbag and abs from base variant but jazz offers the same only at third variant... looks like Honda is not bothered abt passenger safety...
If Honda is so confident then they should not provide airbag in any of their variants... I don't agree this reason for not giving airbag and abs in base or even base+1 models...
your videos are good but you miss out on average service cost, average spare parts cost, crash test rating, these things r v important while deciding a car.

Baleno is expensiver then d dzire. Top model price for dzire is 7.90 lakhs and baleno is 8.45 lakhs.

Length wise these cars are same, but width wise I20 is bigger than Xcent, Baleno is bigger than Dezire and Jazz=Amaze..
So you will get more space in Premium hatchbacks..
In Baleno, rear seat foot space is good, but in Dezire, your knees will touch the front seats..
And features like push button start, touch screen display, UV glass, Arms rest are not available in Dezire..
Thats why Baleno is more expensive..
+spartan actually there is push button and keyless start in dzire and even in d swift hatch. but that car is not as good as the baleno. the baleno is premium and the best premium hatch by maruti so far.

hyundai elite i20 diesel sports model is good car. Streeing is light, Good brake & engine performance. All are good but while driving in cities you have to work more on gears compare to baleno driving in cities.

Jazz is a little sluggish, but it totally makes up with the space , airiness and ride comfort...Baleno is dreary.Jazz will look new5 years hence
..but jazz is from the past century = old engine + old weighty seel - without options like in Baleno...
+ashish Is the car (CVT model) able to climb on hills and slopes with 5 people sitting (as the car itself is heavy)? Does the CVT gearbox work properly without giving any jerks while shifting gears? Is there enough acceleration while pick up? Lastly can we add rear AC vents as an after market accessory?
Atish Gandhi it easily climbs uphill, no issue with 5 ppl..no jerks in gear shift.. acceleration isn't as quick as baleno or i20 but inside space is class leading ..and engine is very smooth at cruising speeds
