I'm Xinbas, (match 3, hatebears) In the first game I had a perfect hand, my game developed without much difficulty, but I didn't understand what I was facing, I thought it was a big red deck I side wrong an in the second keep a very risky hand with only 2 plains, it took me a long time to buy the 3th land, i had 2 CoCo but the deck didn't move. In the third i just couldn't do anything against the combo. it was a good game and a pleasure to play with you! Hi from a Brazilian fan here!

After years of watching Seth's content, I can confidently say that the real name of any given card is whatever Seth says it is, sometimes that name might even change a couple times a game. 🤣 He'd do very well for himself working for a Witness Protection Program.

As a Storm lover, watching you getting so excited about casting grapeshot for lethal like it was Christmas it's been priceless! As far as the deck goes, though, for a non-budget version I think a second color as a support might be needed in order to fight better against opponents' hate pieces. Sweet deck Seth. As a Legacy Ruby Storm player, I am so happy to be building this in historic. Too bad looting is a rare wild card. I think I'm going to try 'open the omenpaths' until I can get them
i suspect it wouldn't be broken but probably not a good idea. The reason is historic is a format of getting ahead of your opinion, giving them a land means you ramp them to their finisher and one creature probably isn't going to win any match by itself in historic. Swords is definitely too good because historic is not really a format about life total, you just need critical mass or your combo and you will win even against decks like angels with massive life totals.
Interesting build, went for mizzixs mastery, light up and shocks instead the creatures and artifacts. Mizzixs makes getting 20 if ignus gets stomped way easier.
I was trying to brew my own storm historic deck. I had valakut awakening instead of spikefield hazard since it's another card that digs through the deck and a couple of magma jets to deal with early creatures and scry. Good idea bringing the 1 mana red cantrips.
I originally has Valakut Awakening along with Spikefield Hazard, but ended up cutting Valakut Awakening because it's a rare to keep the price down (I still think it's a good option for the deck though).
I made virtually the same deck except instead of the Ox I went with Arclight Phoenix. That way the opponent will have to use removal on the Phoenixes so hopefully, they run out of removal by the time I go to combo.

Seth is a secret aggro player even though he will never admit it. I never hear him laugh more than when he does aggro videos or plays red. He IS the grinning ingus! Not to be confused with the grinning ingus.
Comments like these feed that ever-hungry algorithm. It costs him absolutely nothing in terms of resources, or honestly even effort. If a normal video would get 1000 comments, but because of a funny mispronunciation it now gets 1020 comments or whatever, that's just free value. I like it because it's creative and beneficial, while victimizing no one.
I was watching this video and went onto arena to try and see if I had the cards to make this deck, saw that I didnt and decided to do a ranked match. First deck I run into is this exact deck. This video had storm too apparently...
I love the deck but with 16 Rares this is hardly budget on Arena. Considering it's Historic, it's probably the only place it would be played so there's no way it could be considered anything less. Still very fun to watch, love me some storm, just a little sad this is something I'll likely never be able to build
In general I try to shoot for 15 rares or less for "budget" on Arena, but in reality there aren't really many budget decks on Arena because the client is so expensive and it can be hard to get the cards you need.
If you're interested in Bo1, LegenVD also made a storm list that is a bit more budget and works just as well, if not better. I've been playing it non stop and it's super fun, you should check it out :p
This deck is even more powerful than the video suggests. We love you Seth, but you definitely aren't a storm player 😅Overestimating the need for infinite mana vs infinite storm led to 2 or 3 losses. if you already have the two extra mana to cast grapeshot, ignus + monument + any card in hand is a win. Untap with ignus + any cost reduction + grapeshot is a win, etc. Looking forward to running this deck!

I think in match #2 you could’ve won game one. You had three counters on your Steam-kin and enough mana to play Ignus, plus a Grapeshot in hand. That setup alone is infinite spells into storm grapeshot. Let me know if I missed something.
I actually play temur storm since I haven’t got a steam kin or enough faithless looting and it is honestly pretty good trying to break out of gold with it now
I feel like there are a few games (match 2 game 1?) Where Seth missed that Grinning Ignus and Hazoret's Monument with one open mana is already infinite storm infinite dig through your deck, and will leave you mana to grapeshot.
This deck is sweet and all, but I can’t help but feel you waited for the historic archive to drop to do historic budget Magics even though Time Spiral remastered just made some of the best cards in modern dirt cheap. Off the top of my head I can say that hollow end is probably only 60-70 dollars now, and I bet you could cook up many more sweet ideas.
Because of the wildcard issue (which is still unforgivable tbh, twice the cost for old cards is crazy), everyone wanted Historic. Even now I feel bad for anyone trying to actually get into Historic, the cost must be ridiculous. Every new format besides Pioneer has at least some early skepticism, funny how it turned out for Pioneer though I blame the pandemic.

ignus costs 1 redto play and costs another red to suck back up, while ignus only generates 1 red mana every time you play it. thats why you need either bergi or steamkin on the board to combo
The only part of Storm I don't like is the lack of automation. Magic online can do it, right? Hopefully they find a solution so it is not lile the cat oven ban
So in terms of the transformational sideboard (after seeing a similar deck in another video) why not run Firebrand Archer over Thermo-Alchemist? Sure, it has less toughness, but you're bringing it in against control, so removal is a wash. Archer at least can ping while you're storming off and isn't subject to summoning sickness, and you also get incidental triggers on things like Harnfel and Monument.
I think the two are pretty similar. Thermo-Alchemist dodges somewhat more removal. Firebrand Archer has the upside of potentially being able to attack. The abilities are pretty much the same (outside of Theromo-Alchemist needing to not be summoning sick).
Oh, yikes wotc. Apparently they're all legal in historic except for specific ones: Channel Counterspell Dark Ritual Demonic Tutor Lightning Bolt Swords to Plowshares Really not intuitive. I wonder if we're going to continue to see the pattern of "this set is legal in this format.... except..." Kind of already feels like we're doing that with banned cards. A set is standard legal except for it's broken cards some time after the set has sold %90 of the boxes it will sell.
In Match 2 I bet that opponent will have just kept a hand full of duds and removal, seemed like the only way they were going to win was to make sure nothing stuck.
I had someone try this deck against me a few hours ago and my single Authority of the Consuls shut it down lol They apparently got frustrated and grape-shotted themselves to end the match.
Historic is in a weird spot right now because its has cards like grapeshot and tendrils of agony without the weird super narrow color hate cards from the old core sets like dragons claw.
Rather than grapeshot, why not use reservoir, it does defeat the point of the deck but since you gain infinite colorless mana from ingus it makes you win more consistently

NEVER underestimate storm regardless of the format! Even in Historic with limited options, Grapeshot STILL finds a way! I know what I'm building!

It is awkward when Seth plays "budget" decks on Arena that are actually super non-budget for Arena players.

I think there are a few games where you didn't realize it is not infinite ;) Ignus gives 2 colorless and only 1 red, not enough to loop it.

Couldn't you still have won on game 1 vs sultai? Monument made ignus mana neutral and you had grape shot
For Match 4 it isn't that surprising. They tend to take out some number of pheonix for anger.
