  • We dyno test the full Yoshimura rs12 exhaust system vs stock on this CRF250R
    Exhausts are often the first item bought for performane upgrades, but are they worth the money!?
    Let's try and answer that in this video!

    That’s a pretty good gain in power through out the power band on the yoshimura exhaust

    • @HPRaceDevelopment
      @HPRaceDevelopment  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      this day and age is a really good gain!

    • @lindseyhunt1090garageb

      1 hp through some of the powerband for over a grand doesnt seem great lol

      @HPRaceDevelopment  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @lindseyhunt1090garageb what would you suggest for 1 hp gain that costs less?

      @@HPRaceDevelopment nothing. It just seems redundant. Miss the 2 stroke carb days when a pipe could actually add power / torque and change the power band depending on riding style as well as tune the carb to gain power. Those were good times.

      @@lindseyhunt1090garageb Right on, sadly I think people underestimate true inflation over the years. A 1k pipe is the same price a 350 pipe and silencer were in 1995
      Somehow oems have managed to just make way less and still keep 2t pipes kinda cheap - but i can tell you 100 percent the r&d time into 2t pipes is way down too

    Good vid. Have you dyno'd the Pro Circuit system on this bike?

  • @Jordan348_MX
    @Jordan348_MX ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Do you have to change the fuel mapping on these bikes when installing the full Yoshi exhaust? I just bought a 2023 250-R and want to swap out the exhaust but don't wanna mess anything up.

    • @HPRaceDevelopment
      @HPRaceDevelopment  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      you dont HAVE to do anything. If you want best performance - an ecu is generally the best first thing to buy

  • @ThePeteGray
    @ThePeteGray ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Is the SS version a lot heavier than stock? Would you recommend the Ti system for this reason? Thanks.

    • @HPRaceDevelopment
      @HPRaceDevelopment  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes SS is heavier. While power is great, every 8lbs of weight is 1 hp. AKA if you make .25 hp and gain 2 lbs you gained no performance in acceleration but lost breaking and cornering

    • @ThePeteGray
      @ThePeteGray ปีที่แล้ว

      @@HPRaceDevelopment - so the SS system not worth it then in real world use? It's more than 2lbs heavier than stock.......

    • @HPRaceDevelopment
      @HPRaceDevelopment  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@ThePeteGray the power gains are essentially negated by the weight gain...from a power to weight stand point. That doesn't take into account a braking or handling effect. IMHO, NO. Nothing that adds weight is worth it, even if it made 1 hp

      450s are rare for dyno work. most people want them slower
