I decided end year of last year to call it a day will all these android boxes and got myself a Nivida Shield the difference is night and day updates, support, tons of good horse power I'm very happy keep up the good work
I'm coming to that conclusion as well. I use the Nvidia Sheild as my main streaming device and it's the best there is.

Thanks for the video. WARNING: The internal port of the A95X Max, which should support up to "2TB", only recognized a old 160GB Hitachi drive. It was formatted Fat32. Tried 1TB WD red and 2TB drives. The drives are immediately ejected. Tried Fat32 in GPT and MSDos mode. No luck. So don't count on this box to run Kodi with attached sources. You will have to plug a USB drive externally.
Mine works OK with a Kingston 250
You remove the hard drive mounting bracket you might be able to squeeze a 3.5 instead of the 2.5 hard drive into it. Maybe rap the hard drive with tape or plastic over the metal to make sure there's no shorts.
Hi i just brought 3 of this devices for bedrooms and one in the living room. But how come this device even when i turn it off it will automatically switch it on and same time the tv turns on by itself after i have turn everything off.. is there a solution to fix this??? But i notice on my big tv this doesnt happen. when i turn the device off it will be off and when i turn the tv off the device wont turn on by itself. But the other device on the other tv's means when i turn the device off on remote control and then turn the tv off on remote in 30 seconds time the device turns on by itself and the tv turns on automatically... What is happening there i have no idea.. could it be under settings or something i ain't sure? I even tried to reset the device but that wont fix the problem... I notice the tv remote control would actually navigate on the A95X MAX when i have the device on... strange.. Course i thought that should only work on the A95X remote control and not the actual SONY tv remote control tv.... Please help me im confused.... But the big tv in the living room does not have this issue with turning itself on by itself.. But i did notice it will actually work with the actual sony tv remote control instead of the actual a95x max remote control.... So this is confusing but anyways.. could all this be under some kind of settings that i should be looking at ? help me how to :) Meanwhile he only disapointing is i have to unplug the cable from the back of the android box device otherwise it will turn the tv on by itself and the device on too after i have turn everything off in the first place.. I prefer to turn things on when i want to and NOT automatically turns on 30seconds later when i just switch off the tv and the device. Plus i have not pared the tv remote vs the android remote control together in order for the sony remote control to actually funtion the android device.. which i prefer to use the a95x max remote control for that android device and the sony tv remote only for the tv itself and not have the whole 1 remote do everything which is confusing for everything else...
Be some sort of issue with CEC control on your TV.
@@MXQPROJECT Hi and thanks. Hmm i have tried something today.. And this is like turn on the tv with the sony remote control as normal.. turn the Android tv box with the android tv bote remote control. Then i watch channels overseas and then i turn the android tv OFF by actually pressing the red button on the android remote control for 5 seconds (not just a quick click) but pressing the red button for more then 5 seconds and then a small white corner pops up indicating (turn off / Restart. I clicked Turn off.. And apparently the tv wont turn on by itself or the device at all. So it sounds like what i have done was to actually turn off the android tv box correctly. Not just thinking by pressing the red-button quickly but rather more pressing the red button for about 5 seconds until you see a corner pops up indicating the message (turn off or Restart) and this actually works. Looks like this is exactly how to turn off the device correctly... Because before thinking why when i went to bed all of sudden the device turns on and the tv as well when i didnt press anything... And so i suppose i was clicking the red button to turn the device off but just a quick click. Where u are suppose to click the red button on the A95x remote control for 5 seconds until you see a pop up message to shut the device down correctly This was my experience today and it seems to finally work after days or trying to figure what on earth was going on. So if anyone has some issues please take note of this as i have tested and works fine now. And yes this is the correct way to switch off the device... And not just thinking that if you press the red button on the android remote control it turns off.. it will turn off but maybe not correctly there for you need to keep pressing that red button until you see a pop up corner message on the android screen. So there you go. However i do thank you for your help as well. So for now it works correctly. But most people dont realise this because when u click the red button quickly the device goes off but very little do people realised that the actual device isnt really turn off until you actually hold the red button for 5 seconds until you see a pop up message on the screen. I see, yeah on some boxes you have to keep the power button pressed to bring up the shut down menu otherwise it just sends the box to sleep.

I never test the remotes as they usually are rubbish on all TV boxes, from memory it didn't have it but it was quite a big remote with various functions

I think the box is the most interesting S905x2, and I think you could also run Emby Server for Android on it or servers Ultimate Pro/ auto boot. ..as a NAS+media player;)
But I have a question, how does Kodi 18 behave on it, are 4k interfaces possible and can Dts HD Master be output via passthrough ? Netflix HD should work with patch yes. (...I shouldn't have cancelled the box, now it costs a bit more^^).

QUESTION: Does Google Services and Google Play Store come up to date, or is it a very old version like most boxes come?

Damn, I just ordered this after watching/reading a number of reviews recommending this. And now I hear you say it's cheaply made.
Bought but. Have terrible time getting Plex and Emby to work. Which ones are stable dang working? Help would be appreciate. If I can't fix this I only but Android TV in the future. Thank your for advice.

Probably would make no difference anyway, as the transfer connection has a bottle neck of SATA to USB - But no it cannot be done.

Where can we find the new firmware update for this box...
I purchased two A95X tv boxes. They are advertised as 1000m download speeds. I can only get 100m. I have 400m to the box and only 100m come out. Is there a special setting?
Hi. Can you help me with the screen. When I open an app I can't get up on the screen with the remote to press menu need to be switched to mouse to get further up to be able to press menu. Tried everything the same all the time. Why. Can you help me?
Remotes that come with these devices aren't always the best, would get yourself an air mouse
Besides the cool adaption to add a SSD or laptop type hard drive, all these new boxes do NOT provide much of a upgrade over the recent Amlogic S912 boxes. My almost 2 year old T95Z Plus Android box with its 3gb of ram, 32gb of rom using the Amlogic S912 chip gets the same exact benchmarks as these new boxes. It extremely sad that even after a year or 2 that there hasn't been an improvement in performance.
Same benchmark, but just ignore it as benchmarks aren't always a good indicator of real world usage. This chip is faster than the s912 for gaming but should expect similar performance for other aspects.
Is there a way to schedule recordings with this box?

These boxes have problems formating sata hard drives no real info given except some pre formating with pc I used fat32 to get it to work do not download from apps like youtube pandora ect.. as they constantly erase and redownload same material it will ruin sata drive fuctionality

Not that good a resolution. It would seem great if you are used to lower end boxes. I have high quality boxes that get sharp pictures except of course I give about a hundred dollars more for them. I have this to use for company in the guest room when I have people staying over.

If you are looking to run TH-cam TV keep looking as even though I was told it would work, it does not and Google said it is NOT supported for TH-cam TV. Don't like the GUI/Launcher

Yes there are other videos on TH-cam that show you how to use the record feature. That was one of the reasons I purchased it

I can verify it is NOT supported by Google at least as far as TH-cam TV is concerned. Wasted my money on this box.
