Most memorable trucks on tfl was the 2014 6.2 Raptor, Mopar modified Gladiator, and the TRX. Honorable mention to the Red Silverado Trail Boss

For me, TRX was the toughest one to see leave the channel, so it has to be king of the hill out of this group of vehicles

If the TFL TRX was the first one available to the public, it's destined to be a high-value collectible. 50 years from now, that truck will be very popular.

After listening to the conversation about the hemi options I wanted to add my experience. 2012 ram crew purchased new all oil changes performed at the dealer and 134k lift froze then flattened out my cam. Asked ram dealer for a quote to repair and they said 11k. I laughed at them and sold it on Facebook. I now own a f150. Maintained per the manufacturer.

Also run full synthetic oil always and change it every 5K religiously and you shouldn’t ever have internal engine problems! Only have 62K on my Rebel so I can’t speak to experience there, but I’ve dealt with a lot of Mopar engines over the years and one of my good friends used to be a Chrysler Technician at a Dodge dealer. So I’ve received good sound Mopar advice for years now as well. 😊

I think it’s important to note you all were ahead of the time on the 7.3 Godzilla. Now all the rage is heavy duty overlanders even if they don’t always perform well on the trails. If you look at truck trends today you all either sparked or were on the front edge of many.

I saw junior doing a car review yesterday, and he kept sharing his screen, showing photos of what you were talking about. Watching on youtube, that is much more enjoyable. We had a TRX, ok, show me stuff you were doing while talking!! He would pull up an old video, share his screen and then your conversation turns into a voice-over, even though the topic might not change to suite the background video, didn't matter. It turns "2 guys talking" (a podcast) into a video for those watching, while still providing a podcast. 2 birds kinda thing. Keep it up!!

Thanks for the thorough breakdown guys. One of the many things that makes TFL great is your willingness to bring us the latest and relevant vehicles. I know you guys put a ton of effort into it, and that is appreciated.
Of course the favorites are the Raptor R and TRX, just from the sheer "smile factor" (as in you cannot stop smiling while driving these trucks lol). I know the RAM with the Cummins has long been a powerhouse when it comes to utility and towing, but I was a bit surprised by just how much you guys love this truck (Trail Hound), so that was a cool takeaway. You guys have mentioned your affinity for this pickup in other videos as well.
Also Nathan, I can understand where you're coming from when you say that the Raptor R doesn't do enough to distinguish itself from a standard Raptor. I thought the same at first too, however, I have a different thought on that now. I actually like the way it's understated. I think in the future that may actually add to the mystique of this truck as well. Imagine in 20 years walking through a parking lot and seeing one. You'd have to get a little closer to it to see that it is in fact a Raptor R. I think that is actually kind of cool. Also, I'm not a huge fan of gawdy and excessive trim panels and such.

For me, it’s the Ridgeline all day long. For someone who occasionally tows and doesn’t need a “get deep in the woods” truck the Ridgeline has room, ride quality and gas mileage. Most people don’t use trucks for what they were originally made for. But they are still ugly! But I love mine.

    • @is6566
      @is6566 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

It’s pretty much the same money. They just roll it over from one vehicle to the next. That’s why they have most of these trucks only for a few months. This is also a business. They make money from TH-cam and ads and product reviews and some infomercials. They budget some of the revenue for new vehicles.

Why don’t TFP mention about the ego boost engines come from? Eco Boost engines are Mazda engines. Mazda built Ford Probes back in the 80s. Also, Mazda builds Fiat 124. Germans built Catallac Cateria in the 80s. All the problems associated with poor quality imports. Early 2000 Mazda made three valves heads for Ford.

None of these trucks are perfect I bought a brand 🆕 Tacoma TRD 4X4 off-road 6-speed manual I live in Phoenix went to turn on the AC when it's 115° outside & it didn't even work it was a bad hoes all the freon had leaked out... The truck would never go into 4-wheel drive but I've never owned a truck before so u didn't know how long it should take & it just seemed to take forever n forever to get out of 4-wheel drive come to find out the front diff actuator was bad (truck has never even been off road) because it got stuck in 4x4 mode & had to be towed to the dealer! Make in Guanajuato Mexico quality 😢 everything else seems to look really good tho, body panels lineup & paint looks good well see. I refinanced it thru my credit union & got a 120,000 mi warranty for like 6 or 7 years. So at least the time I'm financing it will be covered under warranty. Mind you I had all these problems under 6,000 miles 😡

I don't believe those Chinese electric cars are doing well. There's plenty of reports of them catching on fire in a variety of locations causing much more harm than good. This has also become a subject on some other youtube channels showing such vehicles in China causing harm to people, homes, businesses and the environment.

Several manufacturers of EV cars and trucks make claims that their vehicles can not meet. Whether Range, price, or actual dates of production and sale. Sometimes things fall outside of their parvue, sometimes a little puffery but in most cases it is outright lieing.
I was surprised to notice that there may be a little bit of that with TFL! I hope that I am wrong, but I did remember Andre and Mr. Truck claiming that they were going to do an Ike Gauntlet test every week for the next year. I was very excited about this as the Ike is what first brought me to TFL 5 years ago. Instead, we get the Denver 100 or some other poor substitute. I find myself asking what have they done with Andre and why replace him with The Dark Lord Elon? Enquiring minds want to know.
    Promises, promises, promises.

Two thoughts that are related but not really.
1: Jeep Gladiator, pretty sure it’s discontinued. It makes me wonder if Jeep would ever make a Ram 1500 but Jeep version. The problem is that it’s based off the Wrangler, and it’s a fun truck. However if they built a more regular truck with off road goodies and the Jeep branding, that’d be pretty cool. Similar to how the Comanche was a Cherokee with a bed.
2: Ridgeline is due for a redesign. I’m really wondering how Honda is going make something that stands out. The current generation has a V6 which is great, but there’s nothing about it that really makes it stand out. I’m assuming Honda will do the Passport since they just did the Pilot but excited to see what they come up with.
