    I wax with Sally Hansen wax strip kit. Fast, cheap, easy. I then put 100% aloe vera on to keep it from irritating. Fast, easy, healed.

    I've been threading my eyebrows myself since I got them done professionally once a few years ago. It's nice to clear up my eyebrows quickly, and I go in with tweezers after to fix tiny missed hairs. Once you get the hang of the thread motion it's not bad, but I'm pretty excited about this product! Takes the difficulty of holding the thread out of it.

    this honestly made me so sad. why does Tina have to put a disclaimer out for her legs having such small hairs? it shouldn't be anyone's place dictate what is acceptable for her legs to look like. if a girl doesn't want to shave her legs, WHY SHOULD SHE?! it's a totally natural occurrence and is our choice. hairy legged girls unite!

    honestly i feel like the issue with the pain with this thing is the speed, ive watched a few pros working (im a dude who wears makeup occasionally and keeps his hair because gender roles are dumb) and they are SO fast that i think it probably works like a bandaid and hurts less when you just rip them out lol

    I thread all the time. I used to get it done at the salon first, but then I learned it myself through practice. Its really effective way of plucking eye brow and upper lip hairs. Firstly, never do it after a hot shower or scrubbing your face. They make the skin loose and the risk of pulling out your own skin increases. Second, you really have to powder it and use a toner or moisturizer to massage the skin after you thread. It soothes up the skin. Thanks for trying this product, Tina! I think I'm gonna try it out too! Doesn't look so bad at all!

      but try the egyptian recipe the one that becomes kindof solid and easy to use and pull with your hands not liquid like hot wax that is removed with paper

    • @r55tem
      @r55tem 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Can you please give a good recipe? :)

    • @hamousaa
      @hamousaa 8 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      the recipe we use in Egypt is:
      Two cups of water
      2. Three cups of sugar or three cups of honey
      3. Two teaspoons of lemon juice
      Procedure
      1. Place all ingredients in saucepan. Bring to boil.
      2. When its color changes to golden brown, lower the heat and continue to simmer.
      3. Keep a careful watch on the color. Once it starts to change to brown, turn off the heat.
      4. Allow to cool a little, then pour small quantities onto heavy duty plastic, of the cereal bag type. Plastic that is not heavy duty will melt. It is not a good idea to use a plate, as you will need to peel it off something pliable after it cools.
      5. When it becomes cool enough to handle, pull a piece off the plastic and pull and stretch it. This will immediately cause it to change color, from a clear golden brown to an opaque gold. It should be easy to stretch and pull. If it is too hard, you have left it on the heat for too long and must make a new batch. If it is too liquid, it has not been heated enough and must be heated once more, or a new batch made.
      The trick is in knowing when to turn the heat off, and may take a few batches until mastered. One test is to take a drop on a spoon and hold it between your thumb and finger (cool it under water first!). It should stretch between them. If it too liquid to stretch, continue to heat, and if it stretches but is brittle, discard and repeat, reducing the time you leave it on the heat.
      Good luck!

    I've been going to get my upper lip and eyebrows threaded for 15 years and I love it. Like any hair removal it does hurt a bit but you get used to it. I've tried waxing my upper lip and I break out cause the whole process irritates my sensitive skin and threaded is the only method that's worked. I've watched tutorials on how to thread so if I can't make it to the last that does my threading I can touch up.

    Hey Tina!!
    I wax my legs at a Salon, as people say that when you shave, hair grows back thicker, may/may not be true, but it's always stuck in my mind! I don't do anything with my arms, I'm happy the way they are! I actually pluck my armpits, time consuming, but I've done it for years and it doesn't hurt. I had my eyebrows threaded once or twice, but I pluck them to maintain the shape!
    Love watching your videos!

    • @christinak1759
      @christinak1759 8 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Lisa L the way it looks, you could almost just DIY your own threads buy some thread and a few beads of the same size and tie them on the thread and then just put it on the same way as the ones it came with

    • @reemyziz
      @reemyziz 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Lisa L re-use them?

    • @izamarvalenzuela5677
      @izamarvalenzuela5677 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Reem A' since you're causing friction, you're wearing down the thread, so the more you use it, the thinner the sting becomes until you have no string left. There's no point in reusing them if it's too thin to work

    • @Sakisasvictorianmask
      @Sakisasvictorianmask 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It depends a lot on your age - the younger you are, the more likely it is that your hair will grow back eventually. Yet, it will NEVER be as thick and much as it has been before lasering.
      Another factor is the thickness of the hair and your skin tone - lasering works best on extremely ligth skin in combination with very dark hair.

    I prefer threading because it really gives a defined and clean eyebrow look without pulling off a layer of skin like waxing does. Though it will be painful at first, you will have more and more tolerance as you thread on a regular basis and the pain will be bearable. I definitely prefer threading than waxing or plucking!

    From 0-10, how much did it hurt to get the laser and then does it permanently remove hair?

    • @shana7926
      @shana7926 8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      its not that painful for the most part, but it was really bad for me around my knees, ankles, bikini line, and underarms. It also still grows, just MUCH slower. This is probably more due to the fact that I stopped at 8 months and less that it didn't work tho

    • @twinkletoey
      @twinkletoey 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Abigail Jeong I have laser hair removal and I don't think it hurts at all but the pain depends on the colour of your skin and hair, the paler your skin and darker your hair the more it hurts. Your hair does grow back if you don't maintain it with the laser but it grows back a lot slower. I've noticed that my leg hair doesn't completely dissappear as it is very light and the laser doesn't pick it all up, but my armpit hair completely dissappears as it is darker. For the first few months you have to do the laser every 2 weeks but after that you need to go over it every 3 months to ensure it doesn't grow back. Overall I think it's easier to just shave, it's cheaper and quicker.

      depends on the area, ive done bikini ant it hurts like a bitch but underarms and everywhere else is ok like a 2 out of 10. depends also on your type of hair, if you have very black thick hair it will work perfectly but after you're done with your sessions you need to do a maintenance session every 6 months to prevent the hair from growing back. It's been 3 years and my hair is grown back but very very thin like face hair.

      Abigail Jeong Depends the part of your body, the legs maybe 1 or 2. Behind the knees and the ankle like a 7 or 8. But it's great! I'm suuuper hairy and in the first session my hairs start to fell off by themselves. I did it like 10 years ago, and still have no hair

      It's really hard to tell - before I got my first treatment everyone told me it would be quite painful (and I have a really low pain tolerance...), yet the actual treatment was rather easy to endure (I did my legs)

    I have ordered it online and it actually works
    Yes it's painful but I find it most painful on upper lip
    This is life saver now no more trips every 2 weeks or so for threading
    Practice on your arm or leg hairs and it takes a while to get use to the pain

      evicaf4e waxing is also good for getting rid of the 'peach' fuzz around the eyebrows too. Since everyone has small little hairs on their face, it can be difficult to get a smooth application of foundation all over the face. Waxing is good for that purpose. :)

      @Dank Meme: One of the ways to relieve pain is sponging the area you want to thread with luke warm water for about 10 mins. Wipe off dry, apply powder immediately while the skin is still warm and then try threading..It hurts a lot less. You can also use a hand towel dipped in luke warm water after you are done to ease the pain.
