- Germany could potentially use facilities funded by the UK to process some asylum seekers in Rwanda, according to Joachim Stamp, the country's migration agreements commissioner. These accommodations were originally intended for people deported from the UK under a plan now scrapped by the new government.
However, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has been sceptical about processing asylum applications abroad, making it unlikely that the idea will move forward. The UK's Rwanda plan, introduced by the Conservatives, aimed to deter Channel crossings by sending some asylum seekers to Rwanda. German ambassador Miguel Berger stressed that Germany's discussions differ from the UK's now-abandoned approach.

In order to sort out immigration, there has to be a will, and an intention to do so. Neither Labour, or the Conservatives have any intention of sorting this out, think about that before you believe their campaign lies and stupidly vote for them.

There is a school in Pakistan where they get taught how to claim every single benefit in the UK and send the money back home. I know this to be a fact.

Maybe not a wall, but there must be a sort of floating Sea barrier that would pop these rubber dinghies if they try and cross. Have a gap in the middle patrolled by the coast guard for cross channel ferries.

I'd have thought it because the Refugee Convention and UNCLoS clearly states you can. Even if France was at war we probably could, though possibly not if they were specifically targetting these people. The problem is that it's all moral hazard - as long as they don't want to stay in France, Spain or Greece et al there's nothing compelling them to put a stop to migration, and the argument "well, other countries in Europe take more!" is so comprehensively absurd as an argument it doesn't deserve a response, but I'll give one anyway: that's their problem, not ours. The second anybody actually stops these boats and turns them around they'll stop coming, they'll stop crossing the Med and Africa to get here - so some in France are right in a way, that it's kinda our fault.
The guys who wrote these treaties weren't idiots and we need to start holding the people we charge with securing our borders accountable, including criminally - because what they're doing if not outright treason, is definitely misconduct in public office. If it isn't that then the people responsible need to be sacked until we find somebody who will do the job.

These were never designed for people deported from the UK. They were deigned for processing Asylum Seekers.
Rejected claimants would be deported to their home countries. Successful claimants would be kept in Rwanda. THAT is what was illegal as tested in our High Court.
Germany would bring them to Germany. That is why their plan would be legal.
Quite apart from whether the country is considered 'safe', and Rwanda is certainly questionable.
I think Germany could be hesitant of use Rwanda is it is a political and media hot potato. The name alone. The same thing can be done in other countries.

Down here in Somerset we had just enough migration to keep things intresting but that is all changing & walking through our LITTLE town yesterday I was bemused (along with everyone else!😆) to see a cafe taken over by African migrants (all done out at GREAT expense for them) not ONE white person in there...the aroma of African dishes as people walked by & everyone having a jolly good time!! All nice to see if they were legally here!!! Some deterrent!!
