This was my favorite RPG... Well, Dragon Warrior IV on the NES was pretty epic, too. I liked the process of building your character up, the interaction with the allies, switching them out, the variety of enemies... This game has it all.
Man, that beggar must be ravenously hungry... Give him ~80GP, the Avatar isn't even gone but for maybe an hour, and he's already broke and starving again.
Being very experienced at this game, I can tell you two things about that. First, the beggar is automatically programmed to ask you for gold each time you talk to him. And second, you can give him 1 gold piece and that will do the trick, the amount of no importance, as long as you do it enough times.
The only time I like the overhead map music is when you're sailing. I remember this game, but I never had it, and all the kids I knew back in the day that did have an NES didn't have this one either. They had everything else: Balloon Fight, Ice Climber, Bubble Bobble, Castlevania I and II, Donkey Kong, Excikbike, Karnov, Kung-Fu, Legend of Zelda, The Super Mario/Duckhunt combination, Metroid, Mike Tyson's Punch Out, Blaster Master, Bad Dudes, Double Dragon, Renegade, Starvoyager, Robowarrior, Wizards and Warriors, Dragon Warrior and Contra, but not this one. I guess me and my friends really missed out ;P
Would love to see someone make a full conversion romhack for this game that turns it into Warriors of Destiny since the actual NES port of that game is godawful.
This is an interesting port. Pretty faithful gameplay wise to the original computer version, with better graphics and sound. Too bad the translation kinda sucks
Watch with closed captions (CC under the video) turned on.
Woah, there's actually commentary on the closed captioning!
thanks

It's to build up virtue. There should be some explanatory subtitles but the publishers forgot still haven't added them.
Those Npcs are bugs, the repeatable virtue builder ones.
So unexpected for an Ultima-port to be awesome. 10/10
I'm still playing this legendary game ..
How many replays?
@@mariowario5945 I've done 10 so far. Haven't played it in years and am planning on going through again.

When you talk to npc's multiple times giving the same answer, are you manipulating rng?
There are 2 NPCs that bug boost virtues.
the dialogues were shortened compared to ultima V for pc?

The Sega Master System port is pretty accurate to the computer version except for the dungeons, which have all been turned 2-D.
I cant believe i rented this piece of shit
ITs a great game dude. Ultima is what paved the way for final fantasy and other top down games.
