It is really important to do it this way! I just washed them together like you normally would, shaking soapy water inside. Looked clean. Then before it even dried, I watched this video and took it apart to wash it again and sooo much more dirt came out!
Also a clog can build up in the tube connected to the bottom of the vacuum... that will kick out the flashing filter tube. Check that first, it may save you alot of frustration.
I vacuumed up what I thought were very small leaves nothing to worry about. Lots of cleaning filter later and still getting flashing filter sign it was these small leaves, and the fluff they caught, stuck in this tube at the top of the main cylinder! Get tip thank you! Prizing off the filter like in this video has damaged the soft plastic, I'm not doing it again, normal thorough washing is good enough
Also with it disassembled like that you want to remove the double ring seal to get the crud out of there. That's one important thing you didn't do, also it won't dry properly. Any fine particles in that groove will harden to a cake and cause the filter to bypass with build-up causing filter issues and motor issues.
Dyson own video only recommends washing the whole filter without separating it any further, like in the first option here. Not sure it was a good idea to put it on the radiator, like in this video. I believe it needs to be air dried for 24 hours (Dyson official instructions).
@@thisisveryannoyingDon't listen to Dyson, they know most customers can't wait 24 hours for a frickin filter to dry, it's their shtick to get you to buy extras. You CAN dry a filter with a hair dryer if you know what you're doing, just go slowly and don't cook the fibers shut.
Is there anyway to remove the purple see through cover from the filter on the top? Thats the only part thats dirty I cant seem to clean on mine, the filter inside on the top edges are darkish brown for heavy dust color and I was hoping to remove the cover without breaking it. Do you know if there is anyway to get that off fairly easy? Thanks
@@RCompHacks I'm not sure if it's a HEPA filter or what kind it is, there is the purple see through-ish part that has a filter inside then the other filter below it. I just want to remove that inner layer without destroying the purple outer plastic shell so I can clean that inner HEPA filter but not sure that is possible.
Actually it is better to take it apart. You can use a butter knife which is way better or even a narrowed plastic. spatula instead of a screw driver. Better surface area than using a thin screwdriver driver which could poke through the filter. Taking the bottom filter off you get more of a better eye view of the dirt and lint that gets stuck in there. Also you can clean the double lipped seal better as well this way and get between the crevice on the underside where the tabs are that tend to get a lot of crud in there over time, along with the fine particulate build up that can get past the seals. Which can cause motor failure as well if it gets past the seals. Also with that being removed. The lip seal on the hepa side, also comes out of the groove, that also builds up dirt on the underside which you can't get at with just an assembled rinse. That's one important thing he didn't show on the video.
You really don't need another vacuum. I just wash the filter. You also don't need to go through all that effort to remove the premotor filter to clean out extra residue that is just going to get covered again anyway. It't not a plate, it's a vacuum filter.
Estoy desecionada con la aspiradora limpia muy bien pero la e tenido que mandar a reparar dos veces la arandela debajo de la goma roja se parte con facilidad Dyson haver lo que me dura esta ves Un saludo

Clean a Dyson with another Dyson. Because everyone buys 2!!
Yeah, that part got me cracking up when I saw it.
Or One can just buy an extra battery, filter and charger.
I'm lucky to have 2 🙃
Osea se lava completo, sedeja 24 hr, luego se desarma y se deja otras 2r hrs?
Allah'ına gurban olam
Love how it showed him vacuuming the filter! I WISH I had a vacuum to vacuum my vacuum! :D
You can just buy second filter.
@@RCompHacks They're something like $20. If it's this easy to clean a filter, I'd rather go that route. It's a bit easier on the planet as well.

Great video. Im one of those thorough cleaners who wanted to know how the filters separated. Quick, easy to follow, worked perfectly for me. Thanks!
Єдине відео, де чітко показано як розібрати і зібрати фільтр. Дякую!
I use the wife's toothbrush it works a treat and it makes me feel good
😅😅😅😅
So if you have a Dyson you need another hoover to clean it 🤔
Excessive squishing and twisting is hardly advisable. Can be dried with a towel or napkins
Thanks for showing us how to put the 2 filter parts together again. Otherwise the vacuum cleaner will show "filter not sealed" on its screen.
How did you get the filter to separate? I tried prying it with a screwdriver like you did in the video but the filter would not move.

No es mejor meterlo en la lavadora?
I guess it is more quickly and less water.

Do you mean inner folded HEPA filter?

@@gnomerebel Folded HEPA filter is glued to inner plastic.
I am preparing another video on how to perfectly clean an extremely dirty filter.
Muy interesante pero yo no desmonto el filtro ni de broma si lo rompes a comprar otro y es muy caro
I’m struggling to put the damn thing back together 🤬
I never have to do this with my Miele
Unnecessary to take it apart with a screwdriver just clean as one unit. No point risking breaking the thin plastic.

I put back the filter even if not fully dry. I admit its my mistake.,and now it's not working.
Can it be repaired?
You can try disassembly the vacuum cleaner and let dry a few days.
Thank you
Very good. Worked for me.
So I need a vacuum to clean my vacuum great lol
It take more than 3 days to dry for me..

Let it dry outside if the warm windy weather. Put it on the radiator of heating the house for faster drying.
Awesome! Usefull! Thank You!

Do you mean dust from filter or from cyclone?
Ich habe auch V8 und V15 absolute 👍

A design nightmare - just a hopeless vacuum non-cleaner. A cheapy at one third price is far better
