Good LORD the excellent voice *and* the new lyrics in the second verse? This is an amazing cover in every sense of the word. I would *love* to hear "A Soul Can't Be Cut" or "Dark Skies" covered too. Those normal battle themes never got the love they deserve.
Beat the game for the first time last night. You do not want to know how many times I listened to this song while I stood there with no healing items for the final boss fights. (I know Armstrong has his own theme but he is just so epic he gets a multistage boss fight where the weakest mode is a 5 story tall mech with dual wielding giant swords and Death Star lasers.)
Funnily enough, this IS Armstrong's theme-it's about his Social Darwinist philosophy and even plays during the battle against him in the Jetstream DLC. "It Has To Be This Way" is RAIDEN'S theme.

I've realised something about this song. The reason people think it (and in a way 1984) is about ether capitalism or communism is because both sides seem like this to the other and this song has elements of both collectivism (usually tied to socialism and communism) and capitalism (usually tied to individualism) with the name "collective consciousness" and "let the country control your mind" implying collectivism and to some an idea associated with it by people on opposing political sides, that being dictatorship, with lines like while lines like "live in ignorence and your happiness" imply's both consumerism (which is linked to capitalism) and in the same breath dictatorship, This is getting more modern but in a way this means that the song C.C can be applied to ether side, and isn't that kinda true, The left is seen as a group interested in equal rights but censor people percieved too be against it, even if when looking at a factual angle its sometimes warranted The right are seen as people who want too keep the status quo and oppress and (maybe) censor people to keep the status quo, even if sometimes these things are likely safe from change for the most part, some thongs might be better left behind and it isn't like they are trying to keep are all bad all the time. Yet both are interested in people being free when not at their extreme, but the thing is that these biases build up resemtment and maybe a feelings of righousnes on both sides for "being against the oppressor, those who will ruin us". So in the end both sides gain a picture of the other somewhat precent in the song. Thanks for reading my ted talk.

LYRICS
The unenlightened masses
They cannot make the judgement call
Give up free will forever
Their voices won’t be heard at all
Display obedience
While never stepping out of line
And blindly swear allegiance
Let your country control your mind
(Let your country control your soul)
Live in ignorance
And purchase your happiness
When blood and sweat is the real cost
Thinking ceases, the truth is lost
Don’t you worry
You’ll be told exactly what to do
I give my people the lives they need
The righteous will succeed
The fires of greed will burn the weak
So we’ll make freedom obsolete
Making whole the fabric of society
Collective consciousness controlled as you will see
(Let your country control your soul)
(Let your country control your soul)
(Let your country control your soul)
(Let your country control your soul...)
The passive backward masses
Are the result of what I’ve sought
A shepherds might surpasses
The sheep who need to know their slot
Display prosperity
While never having what to choose
Indifference is equality / makes you equal
Let your country control the truth
Live in ignorance
And purchase your happiness
You’ll never learn of the real cost
Until you lose what you love the most
Don’t you worry
I’ll make world a better place to live
Where everyone will be rich and free
Or is it just for me?
The fires of faith will burn the weak
We’ll silence all who disagree
Making whole the fabric of society
Collective consciousness controlled as you will see
Indifference is equality
Misery is prosperity

You all deserve as much praise as I could possibly give you, and I hope you take to heart all the praise you've received from all of us. Can't wait for the rest of the mgr covers. My final hope is that, after Red sun and Stains of time are done, you also set some time to do The hot wind blowing. I think it's up there with the other greats. Cheers from Norway!
I love how this song is exactly the opposite what armstrong wants but its what raiden beleves armstrong wants before he actually meet him
Wrong. Very incorrect.

It's beautiful, I've listened to this for one hour now(while playing warframe because that Adrenaline made me)
If i never knew the original song and had to guess which verse is original and which is from a cover artist i'd have exactly 50% chance of guessing. Fitting as always, even making the song richer and less tedious after listening to it in a constant. Great job! I'm happy as always consuming the work of artists and looking up for future projects! :D
Great cover! One of my favorite songs from the game. Love the additional lyrics you added too. Makes me think of these lines from 1984:
WAR IS PEACE
FREEDOM IS SLAVERY
IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH

ok ok jokes aside, this is a really good cover. the added lyrics fit in PERFECTLY with the song!
Its nanomachines time!
"Why won't you MORB!"
"Nanomorbchines, son! They morb in response to morbical trauma! You can't morb me, Michael Morbius!"
- Senator Michael Morbius
This was one of those songs i didnt like very much at first, but grew into, and then absolutely loved.
Great job with the cover as well! A little more emotion and it'll be even better!

Now waiting for "The Stains of Time". Love your covers so much!
One of my Favorite Tracks from MGRR, very happy to see you cover it!
I love the suit, goes very well with the song and senator armstrong
Never anticipated a song about rewriting america through the power of a metal gear, an absolutly shredded senator and nanomachines sung by a woman with a french accent instead of Jimmy Gnecco.
I fucking dig it.
All of your MGR songs are great. Plus the extra lyrics are a nice touch. Catchy as hell too.
It's a Russian accent tho

theme song of this week
This cover will help me a lot while thinking about the main villain of my story, or when trying to draw her in practice. ^_^
No type of musical cover is better than one that creatively adds it's own lyrics to the songs whilst still retaining the overall theme and meaning of the song
Good LORD the excellent voice *and* the new lyrics in the second verse? This is an amazing cover in every sense of the word. I would *love* to hear "A Soul Can't Be Cut" or "Dark Skies" covered too. Those normal battle themes never got the love they deserve.
3:23 "Or is it just for me"
She really nails that.
@@UnderDoge-gg9to Not really, while this is in a way Armstrong's theme, it is the opposite of Armstrong's ideology, which advocates for people to have control over their own lives, fighting for what they believe and in support of extreme individualism.
@@UnderDoge-gg9to Actually no. If you listen to what he says "live in ignorance and purchase your happiness" is the exact opposite of his ideals. This is what Raiden *thinks* Armstrong is about.

Alright i gotta admit i was having a high spectative, but this is even better than i though, even some extra lyrics! My God! It's so great!

Great cover! Really well done! The additional lyrics fit the song and the topic of it. Keep going like this!
As a suggestion: Stains of time.
The Stains of time, what an exquisite theme
@@drsatanrx Themes, Jack. The DNA of the soul.
I've realised something about this song.
The reason people think it (and in a way 1984) is about ether capitalism or communism is because both sides seem like this to the other and this song has elements of both collectivism (usually tied to socialism and communism) and capitalism (usually tied to individualism) with the name "collective consciousness" and "let the country control your mind" implying collectivism and to some an idea associated with it by people on opposing political sides, that being dictatorship, with lines like while lines like "live in ignorence and your happiness" imply's both consumerism (which is linked to capitalism) and in the same breath dictatorship,
This is getting more modern but in a way this means that the song C.C can be applied to ether side, and isn't that kinda true,
The left is seen as a group interested in equal rights but censor people percieved too be against it, even if when looking at a factual angle its sometimes warranted
The right are seen as people who want too keep the status quo and oppress and (maybe) censor people to keep the status quo, even if sometimes these things are likely safe from change for the most part, some thongs might be better left behind and it isn't like they are trying to keep are all bad all the time.
Yknow, there's just some things that tell you that this is a person's favorite song.
And this is clearly mine
this is goddamn god-tier, and extending is absolutely amazing!
This theme fits IngSoc from 1984 very well. Nice references to it, by the way.

I was already loving the cover, but when I heard the new lyrics I almost jumped out of my chair. They sound so cool and fit so well with the tone of the original song. Amazing stuff!
The unenlightened masses
They cannot make the judgment call
Give up free will forever
Their voices won’t be heard at all
Display obedience
While never stepping out of line
And blindly swear allegiance, let your country control your mind (let your country control your soul!)
