Go Light up has gotta be the only youtubers i'm aware of that's made a cover for this song. NO ONE ELSE has made a cover for this song. Hot Wind Blowing is one of my favorite songs to listen to :D I wish people made covers for this song
A meatbag following order blindly and a mass of steel, wires, and circuits do not have much of a difference in concept of a soldier fighting and killing without thought or mercy towards any and all life that is pointed at or moving against them. If they fail or disobey, well, meat and iron are abundant and more are always needed to keep battle and war going on. Defectives and dissidents end up in the graveyard and slag heap with the rest of the undesirables and are replaced by those who are much more merciless in following orders and directives than their predecessors. Good soldiers follow orders, good machines follow directives, no matter what. If they cannot be freed from their chains, then they shall hang by them as reminders of the crimes and sins that come with blind obedience with the words "I'm just following orders" being last words they may either regret before or after death or go mad from knowing and hearing it in their afterlife. The dead that they've killed await them, eager to kill them over and over for the perceived reason of their atrocities being "I can so I will". Pray you do not go blindly in obedience, lest you become blinded in many more ways than one.
"Freedom is calling to all men who bend their will" is probably the most underrated line in all of the MGR Songs. But man, did that bridge give me the goosebumps. Amazing
I've listened to the MGR soundtrack more times than I count, this one more than any other, and I really cannot put into words how much the new lyrics you guys give these songs mean to me. And I don't just meant for this one; every single time you've both shown you completely understand the themes at play, and managed to take them even further. LYRICS
Verse 1:
The hot wind blowing
Jagged lines across the sand
The crumbling buildings
In our minds are all that stand
Just like the buffalo
Blindly following the herd
We try to justify
All the things that have occurred
I don't know what I've been told
But the wishes of the people can't be controlled
I don't know what I've been told
But the wishes of the people can't be controlled
Chorus 1:
Heat of the desert
Dust settles on my face
Without a compass
The soldier knows no disgrace
Out of the ashes
The eagle rises still
Freedom is calling
To all men who bend their will
Here I am
Dirty and faceless
Waiting to heed your instruction
On my own
Invisible warrior
I am a wind of destruction
Verse 2:
The hot wind blowing
No way out, or so it seems
Millions of ruined lives
Haunting us in our dreams
When have we gone astray
Seeking place under the sun
No way to justify
All the things that we have done
I know what I've been told
And the anger of the people can't be controlled
I know what I've been told
And the anger of the people can't be controlled
Chorus 2:
Heat of the desert
Is filled with rotten smell
There is no warrior
Who can tell the land from hell
Not asking questions
Whose wishes they fulfil
Freedom is calling
To all men who bend their will
Here I am
Empty and selfless
Willing to cease misconstruction
All alone
Invincible warrior
I am a wind of destruction
Chorus 3:
We fight for justice
In a forgotten place
Fulfil our duty
Then vanish without a trace
Don’t need a medal
For all the men we kill
Freedom is calling
To all men who bend their will
Here I am
Dirty and faceless
Waiting to break all obstructions
On my own
Invisible warrior
I am a wind that will bend their will
Wind of destruction

The music gods cannot be stopped, their universal conquest is inevitable.
Now I am hyped for when "Stains of Time" is covered.
my mind be like haha more like “Remember, The longer the icon of sin is on Earth, the stronger he becomes.”
This song, especially with the new verses, is the phrase “Good soldiers follow orders” turned into a song.
It's also a fitting song for games like Spec Ops The Line and Project Wingman.
"If you don't know freedom, then I can't expect a clone to get our cause!"
