I just got a log home. It was stained sealed 5 years ago, there are cracks in the logs and the stain is faded. Only two sides of the home. Other 2 sides look great like it was done last year. What do I need to do? I am in new hampshire.
I was already a fan of the wrap-around porch idea, but what kind of maintenance is required is combat the UV rays? and what is a typical time frame for completion of a modest (~1500 sq ft) sized home?
Helps to keep the sun and the UV rays off of a lot of the wood. It’s like having blinders in your windshield when your car is parked in a parking lot. Also, roof overhangs of 3-4ft help, too.
What about bugs and woodpeckers going for lava?
