The actor and actress of Xufeng and Jinmi acted really well. They always portrayed their emotions particularly well, really gets you emotional and you are able to fully engage in the show. This theme song is filled with so much emotion too, I love it, I always feel like tearing up when I hear this song. No one deserved what happened to each other - not Jinmi, not Xufeng nor Runyu.
This drama. It made me sad. Because after I was done with the episodes, I had to come back to the real life, where such a love would not exist. Where such beauty does not exist.
The guy's voice is so tender and rich. I love 3:58 the most. He hits you most in the heart with the change of tone. I've read some comments and I agree that with the right context (in this instance, watching the drama), one can hear the intense emotion in his voice. Especially with how he's singing, absolutely beautiful once you listen to it a few times and pick up the little details in his voice. You can hear how he's trying his best to hold back his singing potential to portray vulnerability. Very good control.
When Jinmi stabbed Xufeng in the back of his heart 💔💔and he turns around to stare at her and asks "weisheme" omg I cried 😭😭😭. One of the best drama romance shows I've watched 💖 To think I kept bypassing this showing for a good year and finally watched it and now kicking myself wondering why I waited so long to watch it!!!

This is definitely the words of Xu Feng expressing his sorrow and waiting for the flowers (Jinmi) to return again. He starts off with saying that the flower in his heart withered, which references Jin Mi's death and how time cannot be reversed to save her. He regrets being pretentious and making himself hate her when deep down, he loved her so much...wishing that he can go back to brush off the ashes of his body (his anger about his unjust murder). He replays the memories of them to keep living on in order to search for her primordial spirit and yearns to drink her speciality wine. He thinks he has a shorten life span because of the counter charge and he refused to take the hairy feather since he was hopeless after she died. He wishes that he can have eternity to wait for her return so they can be together again. Sighs. This song is so heart breaking.

There is 2 versions of this song used for the series, of course. Other is by Sa Ding Ding who also sung the ending theme song. But Mao's version which was the beginning theme song was the best one for that. Love Sa Ding Ding's version too. They use Sa's version during the episodes for really sad scenes mostly but also Mao's. I just see in my mind when I listen, Xu Feng trying to force Jin Mi's frost petal into her close fisted hand. And when he can't it just drops to the ground. Jin Mi then picks it up, crying. Jin Mi then waits until he leaves to crush her own frost petal in her hand causing blood red snow flakes to drift down. Then after they can't see each other Xu Feng holds up his hand and catches one of them and it suddenly causes a lot of pain in his chest which represent their love being crushed as well. In his mind we hear him say 'why didn't you tell me you loved me a 3rd time. I would forgive you anything if you had'.(not exact words used in scene)

This is my first Chinese movie that I have ever watched and it serves as my Chinese gateway movie that opens my mind to watch more Chinese movies. First I was just attracted to the girls in the Floral realm when I watched the episode 1, they were so gorgeous and I can see myself in them like we have the same hair color and hair length thats why I continued to watch and love the story of Xufeng and Jinmi love them both ♥️♥️♥️
A friend hassled me into watching this series... and I watched all 64 episodes or so in less than two weeks. This song is now seared into my mind and each note gently carries me off into the realms walked by the characters. A truly amazing experience brought by the talented actors, amazing storyline, gorgeous visuals and unforgettable melodies.

I'm surprised Mao Bu Yi is actually recognized outside of the closer Chinese audience. He blew up in China a couple of years ago when he attended a type of "idol creator" show. The judges noted his somber voice (especially for his age) as well as the lyrics of the songs he wrote for the show. His lyrical abilities are out of this world especially with how highly technical Chinese is as a language. I highly recommend listening to his song 消愁 (xiao chou). It's the song that really shot him into stardom and 100% worth a listen.

Honestly the only song i can't stop listening to. The emotions are real and it makes me cry even tho i am not sad or somthing, + ashes of love is a drama i can't describe how much i love it! No other drama ever made me to rewatch it but this did, like the fact i can rewatch the 63 damn episodes 100 times and not getting tired of it shows how amazing it is. 1000 years silence for those who still don't know this drama exist😭

Before I don't watch this drama because I thought the female lead and male lead wasn't attractive. Now I regret my choices and judgement. I love this drama so damn much. I laugh so hard. I have never binge watched a series like this one two years ago. Got my heart broken and cried a lot of times amid the episodes. I don't know where I go the strength to finish the 63 episodes, I wasn't the same after that, I don't think love should be that painful. I'm surprised Mao Bu Yi is actually recognized outside of the closer Chinese audience. He blew up in China a couple of years ago when he attended a type of "idol creator" show. The judges noted his somber voice (especially for his age) as well as the lyrics of the songs he wrote for the show. His lyrical abilities are out of this world especially with how highly technical Chinese is as a language. I highly recommend listening to his song 消愁 (xiao chou). It's the song that really shot him into stardom and 100% worth a listen.

This song hits me in the heart everytime I hear it and I refused to skip it while watching the series. For all 60 ish episodes. A part in the song just hits me and i wanna cry every damn time but it's just so good and i dont wanna skip it. In the intro it's around when Jin mi is kneeling at her mother's grave mourning her father's dead and I think from that point on. Sorry for the fangirl but its just that good to me
From san Antonio Texas.. came across ths on Netflix by chance my roommate had to work late so I click this and read thru all the episodes in 2 days because i only speak English and Spanish.. .i became a fan immediately. I cried thru most of it OMG and when she died in his arms,, and again when he finally opened the box with the pictures. She must have remembered happy times with Deng Lun while filming Ashes of Love and must have been in pain for what had happened to him that he can no.longer come back to the silverscreen. That scenario clearly showed she deeply cares for Deng Lun😢😢😢
