Procession for Bellevue Police Officer Jordan Jackson

His memorial will begin at 1 p.m. at Meydenbauer Center in Bellevue, located at 11100 NE 6th Street.
Officer Jordan Jackson died Nov. 21 when his department motorcycle collided with a car pulling out of a parking lot on Bellevue Way. Jackson's death is the first line of duty death for the Bellevue Police Department in its 69-year history.

I've lived in Seattle for 2 years and I don't believe I've ever seen motorcycle police. However, a few days ago I saw a dozen in formation northbound on Rainier Avenue South.
I paused out of respect having always lived in cities where representation of the police force was given the respect they deserve. I now believe they must have been practicing for this procession.

Just to clear up any misunderstanding- This is not the first Bellevue Officer to die in the line of duty. Detective Tom Wray died in his police vehicle of a heart attack behind the wheel of his car in 2002, after looking for a wanted felon. Detective Wray just got inducted- recognized into the Federal Law Enforcement Memorial Wall in Washington DC at the help of Bellevue PD pursuing this opportunity on behalf of his family. Detective Wray was a 24 year veteran of the Bellevue Police Department. We are diligently working with Behind the Badge to have him honored by the Behind the Badge for the Washington State Memorial Wall. This is a long complicated story.
