I read Mary's speech (article, actually) on UnHerd in a mad binge of her writings. She's brilliant. She reminds me much of Douglas Murray. First time I've seen her speak, won't be the last. I'm unashamed to be in awe.
In terms of her clarity and originality of thought, she actually reminds me more of Christopher Hitchens! There's be no other thinker who reminds me of him up to this point.

Given the prominence that science has in our society, it was inevitable that ALL things, living and dead, would be described in such a way. Darwinism has as much to answer for as Marxism in ''deconstructing'' the world around us.

My take away from Harrington's economic analysis is that there is no positive resolution of the conflicts generated by the kind of economy corporate capitalism has given us, without the elimination of corporate capitalism. Destroying consumerism and unbridled profit-seeking are the foundation of any stable family system.
This speech so beautifully ties together many strains of thought that I and many I know have been wrangling with. Very inspiring against the deluge of daily black pills. I hope this budding movement can avoid the pitfalls of political fashion and the social media-generated hedonic treadmill. Bravo Mary!

There are no shared norms? Compare an American or European with someone from a developing nation. The similarities among the citizens of developed countries will be remarkable. Living standards of the median household has been revoltingly steady for 50 years. Peak oil hasn't happened, although it is a real concern. Life expectancy for white American men is falling, not for everyone. "Pluralism has spawned a Hobbesian moral anarchy" Well, technology is not helping, that is for sure. Unplugging the INTERWEBS would be a big improvement, if we could reintroduce landlines and newspaper subscriptions, vinyl records and $5 movie tickets.
I`ve been to lots of radfem groups and read lots of stuff. Nothing says that. She is just another conservative trying to gain more followers by twisting the facts.

I truly believe that if you want to respect women and end all violence towards women you need to address the problems that Men have to live with, and respecting Men is a good start. Strangely enough, this was only slightly faster and clipped than how Mary Harrington usually speaks. She does have work to do on her public speaking.
