      I guess the question the movie asks viewers at the climax is whether living by that is worth extinction, or is it better to compromise and lie but survive.

      @@BigUrielI would say it's better to lie, since either you let millions of people to die or you let billions to die, if you don't compromise it would be the mot selfish act there is since the damage is already done and the only one that would benefit from the self-righteousness would be you and the people in power making money out of dead bodies.

    Possibly one of the best superhero movies ever made in fact.

    • @Predated2
      @Predated2 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      As with every movie, it is really, REALLY difficult to portray what is in a book on screen. Lord of the Rings has like 10 different cuts. The movie theater release, the DVD release (which had like 10 minutes of extra footage that at the time would not be allowed at the movies). The extended cut, the directors cut, the extended directors cut, for each danm movie, and then there is the ultimate cut of all movies, where basically all scenes were added. Some altered cuts, where different scenes were chosen.
      Same with The Hobbit, so much extra lore surrounding Sauron in the extended cuts that would have made the movies actually interesing to see.
      And even with all those recorded scenes, you still have die hard fans of the books hating on the movies because they do not perfectly portray the books. Even though easily 90% of the books have been recorded at some point

    Probably one of the saddest deaths in the comic and the film. That whimper when he says “Do it” then going to a more visceral “DO IT!”. Rorschach was afraid at first then shed all of his fear in his final moments as he stared down God and was atomised by him.

    Watchmen is the most important comic in superhero's comic history. There is not such a thing as "the first super hero", Teseo was a superhero. Hercules was a superhero. Son Goku. They always existed. But Watchmen and the death of Gwen were the single most important moments in S.H. comics.
