Yep, that annoyed me, too. Firefox in particular is possibly the only browser that genuinely tries to protect you from the ills of the internet. It's also the only non-profit. Calling it D tier because you're not using it sucks. Also, it has really great native picture in picture which is a big win for me.

Guys please don't think you're being productive by watching "Productivity Apps 2024, How to be extremely productive" sort of videos. They're very fun to watch and also feel like you are being "productive". It took me an absurd amount of time to get out of this, now I finally realise how stupid I was. Now I consciously choose what I do or see, it is extremely hard to get to this state but you will definitely get there. Make sure you frame reading productivity books, watching productivity videos on TH-cam as breaks / self-care / relaxation...basically anything but the actual work you have to get done. Hope this helps someone
Yes! Information and apps alone are nothing without action! That said, a good app can upgrade your character's stats and help you tackle difficult quests and bosses, so hopefully this helps someone tackle a new challenge ❤️
Yes the only thing these youtubers are productive at is making videos about productivity and how much that translates to making a living or achieving life goals is very very subjective LMAO.

I've tried so many things and found the more features the farther you get from your work. I gave Notion a solid shot for a long time, and I'm glad it's improved quite a bit. Overall though, everything ultimately just feels like a worse version of a notebook. Every new option for organizing and grouping is just a way to allow you to engage with the product more and pretend you're being productive when you're actually just wasting even more time. I see people with these giant webs and complex tagging systems and wonder how the hell they could ever lose anything if they spend so much time playing with them. They could probably find that one email they added 19 tags to in their sleep. It's like spending a week tackling a messy desk and ending up with even less space because you prioritized buying binders and trays instead of throwing things away.
I genuinely see your point and probably agree. The less you do, the better it is and it's for any app out there because ultimately you are the user. In the end, user ease matters as much as all the features that make it up!
What makes it great though is the customizability and gamification of your productivity. The latter I think is really useful for a lot of people, especially those who might struggle with just getting to work. Some of the features that might make it seem useless I've found to be useful as it makes productivity fun whereas with all the other apps it can feel the same.
I know these kinds of lists are pretty subjective, but I don't think this list is really reliable, since I feel like you don't really have enough experience with each app to really do them justice. Firefox is a shining example, but also a lot of apps in B and some in C, which you only name a (few) characteristic(s) about.

Actually Edge is far better than before. I guess it should be S rank. 1. It is using chromium code base, yet it was far faster and less resource hungry than Chrome, which makes a better choice for laptops. 2. It supports all chrome extensions. 3. it works better with microsoft account. 4. it has copilot baked in. 5. It supports vertical tab (but not as good as Arc though)

I am a first-year Bolivian medical student studying at a private university, I dream of going to do my specialty in another country but I have had problems when taking notes since many of the methods I see on TH-cam are oriented to use from an iPad, (which I don't have) I only have a laptop and my notebooks, so I would like you to recommend a way to study efficiently with only this equipment
why didn't you mention anytype? imo it's one of the best solutions if you don't want to set up loads of plugins just like in obsidian, but also care about your privacy, which notion isn't capable of
I've been a Hey mail user since beta and its become my only email app. Their UI is neat, screening is awesome, they added a calendar and notes, you can publish blogs simply by sending the content to a specific email, and now there's a 'powerthru' mode which is awesome. My email had never been this clean and managed. I love it!
Placing Figma in the "graphic design" category is like putting a Ferrari and a Cycle in a "vehicle" and grading them. You don't need to put something into a bucket if you don't know what it is. On a side note, the majority of the online digital products you use today are made in Figma.
This is a great introduction to productivity apps! It’s hard to find high quality content that showcases the range of these products. These days it’s too easy to hear rave reviews about (blank) popular productivity app and feel funneled into it. BrainFM is the exact kind of thing I could use, and I haven’t heard about it until now! I grew up on so much classical music that lyrics get tuned out, so I’ll often work to high energy, “distracting” songs because I enjoy the melody. I also always “need” to be listening to music, even if it’s walking to/from a parking garage… it brings some sort of comfort to have music playing. Not sure BrainFM style music will be my cup of tea, but glad to hear such things exist because of creators like you.

My dudes, you totally lost me on browsers. Firefox is actually great, and if you're doing webdev, you should be using Firefox. Edge basically is Chrome, like it or not. If Chrome is A tier, Edge has to be A tier by default as well. You just don't like it because its Microsoft, and that's pretty biased. And seriously - what makes Chrome so great? It is a major memory and CPU hog. There is nothing sexy about it. It is as plain vanilla as browsers get today. 100% wrong on all accounts.
The only apps i use from this list are: TH-cam, TH-cam Music, Notion, ToDoIst, Gmail, Google Calendar, Discord, Canva, Photoshop, Davinci Resolve, Google Chrome. dont know if i should change anything tho cause i like that all this apps can work together with eachother
I use WorkTime productivity software. I particularly love the variety of insightful reports it provides, helping me stay accountable and make data-driven decisions to optimize my workflow.

Tana is great if you want to help train an LLM or AI. If it has AI as a core feature, stay away from it unless you want to feed and then have your data leaked.
tbh Microsoft Edge is a solid browser and it's working smoothly on the windows computers and laptops and the best thing about that it doesn't eat your ram up like google chrome does all the time if it was for me i would give it a solid B tier for now but i am using Arc beta for windows till now and it's great for me.
Evernote since bending spoons took over is one to watch. Lots of changes which is brining it into the modern world of productivity apps. While I don't think it's there yet i think its going to have pretty big comeback (given there is more they do for the free tier to attract users).
Case for Apple Music; One really cool feature I like is that you can follow people you know and listen to each others playlists and even collaborate on playlists. My friends and brother have similar tastes so it’s cool to see if they found some new songs in the same genre or whatever

Google calendar is actually connected to the calendar on android phones. Even my default calendar on my Samsung is connected to my google account. I have not used apple calendar but, the ability to use google calendar on any device should put it higher.
All these apps are just an illusion of productivity. I'm not a hater, I really loved their content when they used to make content on study and focus.Ngl These apps are overhyped.

They know very little about the apps they are reviewing. I am a developer, I've worked with the api's of many off these apps, especially Mondays GraphQL api - trust me. These guys have no idea what they are saying. The title of the video is "These are the best". It's a declaration. It's meant to inform others and guide them to good apps. But its literally a waste. They very literally, in the most LITERAL SENSE, DO NOT KNOW THAT IN WHICH THEY SPEAK SIR. The video, and their opinions, are as useful as you making a video ranking the various soccer teams of Ireland. You know nothing about it. It'd be a waste of everyone's time to make that video yes? Actually, many of the products were reviewed purely based on popularity / social opinion and not guided by objectively grading the product which I dislike
Interesting idea and there is probbably a lot of work behind it. However you are missing some key players in projects and tasks for example which is more important than music category and social media... These cannot be called productivity apps. The video is either too short, either it should be separated into 10 apps per topic, with real tiers based on current usage. It does fell you haven't tried many of htese apps.
Exactly, the team behind firefox came up with JavaScript. They are one of the few popular browsers that are not chromium-based. Yet, they managed to put TH-cam on the S tier. TH-cam censors tons of videos, they disabled the public dislike counts, they are trying to block ad blockers, they don't allow picture in picture for music videos on their mobile app to force their premium model. They are now pushing TH-cam's version of tiktok on everyone 's face. Hate it or like it, you'll have to consume it. TH-cam has basically no competitors. That gives them huge powers.
Google calendar a C ???? WTH. Its easy S++ for me. It pulls data from Gmail automatically. Flight times, bus ride, etc. It works seamlessly with the Google ecosystems, I understand usa people are apple guys. But it is the simple and reliable. Doesn't get any better that google calendar.
Edge browser is almsot the same as chrome but is pre installed on every modern Windows PC. I do not use it myself but that alone makes it even better than chrome so an easy S tier! Why? Because most people are not allowed to install software on corporate machines. In the past those people had only internet explorer but today they have an actual decent browser. This is a game changer for web based business applications!
Considering this video is just 2 months old, putting figma on the same tier as canva is just absurd. Figma have the best community in design field right now where we can utilise designs and use plugins for 10X(if not more) faster works. And is competing with the top design companies like Adobe ( one specific field ).

I use edge daily. I get chrome plugins without chrome’s weight. It’s amazing

All these apps are just an illusion of productivity.
I'm not a hater, I really loved their content when they used to make content on study and focus.Ngl These apps are overhyped.
There are so many more calender and mail apps that I would of loved to see you guys review. But overall good video :)

Calendars: Amie, Morgen, Vimcal, etc. There more niche so it's understandable why they where not covered
Mail apps: Mainly just Proton mail. There are a few others I just can't recall them.

@tristen_grant It's a comment section, I'm allowed to have critique on the video. Also, I'm not the one with a TH-cam channel posting videos posing as someone who has something to say about these apps. They are. And they have nothing to say. They know very little about the apps they are reviewing. Because of this, this ranked tier list is of little value to anyone, and the guys in the very most literal sense do not know what they are talking about which is why I left that comment. I am a developer, I've worked with the api's of many off these apps, especially Mondays GraphQL api - trust me. These guys have no idea what they are saying. The title of the video is "These are the best". It's a declaration. It's meant to inform others and guide them to good apps. But its literally a waste. They very literally, in the most LITERAL SENSE, DO NOT KNOW THAT IN WHICH THEY SPEAK SIR. The video, and their opinions, are as useful as you making a video ranking the various soccer teams of Ireland. You know nothing about it. It'd be a waste of everyone's time to make that video yes? That's what I'm saying about these guys. And this video. I can only hope you don't need this much hand holding in other areas of your life. Hope you learned something.

Interesting idea and there is probbably a lot of work behind it. However you are missing some key players in projects and tasks for example which is more important than music category and social media... These cannot be called productivity apps. The video is either too short, either it should be separated into 10 apps per topic, with real tiers based on current usage. It does fell you haven't tried many of htese apps.

Firefox in D Tier is a crime against humanity.
Exactly, the team behind firefox came up with JavaScript.
They are one of the few popular browsers that are not chromium-based.
Yet, they managed to put TH-cam on the S tier. TH-cam censors tons of videos, they disabled the public dislike counts, they are trying to block ad blockers, they don't allow picture in picture for music videos on their mobile app to force their premium model.
They are now pushing TH-cam's version of tiktok on everyone 's face. Hate it or like it, you'll have to consume it.
TH-cam has basically no competitors. That gives them huge powers.
Google calendar a C ???? WTH. Its easy S++ for me. It pulls data from Gmail automatically. Flight times, bus ride, etc. It works seamlessly with the Google ecosystems, I understand usa people are apple guys. But it is the simple and reliable. Doesn't get any better that google calendar.

Edge browser is almsot the same as chrome but is pre installed on every modern Windows PC. I do not use it myself but that alone makes it even better than chrome so an easy S tier! Why? Because most people are not allowed to install software on corporate machines. In the past those people had only internet explorer but today they have an actual decent browser. This is a game changer for web based business applications!
Considering this video is just 2 months old, putting figma on the same tier as canva is just absurd. Figma have the best community in design field right now where we can utilise designs and use plugins for 10X(if not more) faster works. And is competing with the top design companies like Adobe ( one specific field ).

Seems like this is a ranking whose user has only touched the "buzz word" apps.
For me normal opera is at least in top 3 of all browsers out there. So much functionality.
