22:34 Thats why they killed the neighbors and wrote "You're Next" on the walls at both the neighbor's place and near the mom. It will look like someone was on a murder spree and not like someone trying to get the family inheritance.
In the credits they show that Erin is listed as a suspect, imagine surviving this hell just to get blamed for it tho.
Honestly, if a police officer walked in on all this stuff and DIDN'T decide to even list Erin as a suspect, they'd be insane. Doesn't mean they can't consider the other possibilities as well.
I mean it's kind of a normal reaction. Whole bunch of people are dead and she's the only one who was alive. And her fingerprints are on everything she touch.
In my head, they can relisten to that call and make put of that who the killers were
I think she’ll be able to be let off. There’s a lot of evidence that reveals Crispin and Felix’s schemes. The bottles of pee and food wrappers in the closets and Felix left his signal jammer in his car. Also there’s Felix’s and Crispin’s phones as they’ll have the proof they’ve been planning this via Crispin calling Felix
Fun fact! The people behind the film originally decided to kill off Erin (getting shot in the head at the end) but was met with severe negative reactions in the test screening so they changed it. 🤣
thank god they did!
It's interesting that Caitlin brought up Ready or Not as a comparison at the end because Grace was actually supposed to die at the end of it as well. Radio Silence decided to change it since they felt it would've been a downer for what was otherwise a fun movie.
@@82Jasteri love when they do that. Such a satisfying end for both movies
bruh that would be dumb
i wouldve loved it
Erin is on Sidney Prescott level survival skills. 🔥
Im sorry but she's much better than Sidney. I love Sidney but she's 5 movies in and Amber still messed her up.
Erin is perfect
@@liltmarshall8717yeah and she was 42 and still survived. I don't understand why you people wanna compared them. Erin it's an unrealistic character. At least Sidney started as a normal teenage girl and still survived. Besides Sidney is horror movie royalty, Erin will never reach Laurie, Ripley or Sarah Connor status. You can enjoy the character without trying to put down another character because when you do, even if you don't like it, Erin could never
@@okiguess8103I love how you talk about not putting a character down...and proceed to put a character down. I swear people are getting dumber 😅
@@aternialaffsalot 🤣 are you soft in the head? yeah I made it clear that I was doing that because a lot of people keep doing exactly the same. It's hard for you to tell when someone is mocking you, isn't it? What Sidney had to do with Erin? Why you people keep comparing them? It was obvious that I was doing the same thing that you do, and it's silly. Can't you just have your fave and move on? Why you can keep comparing Erin to other final girls, when you know she's not gonna be at the same league? That sound a lot dumber to me, girl.
You don't have a counter argument about the rest, you're just mad that I did the same thing you guys do. Let's compared them then, what you got?
@@liltmarshall8717 well to be fair, Sidney had just fallen from the second floor landing and also got stabbed in the stomach after so I could see why she wasn’t exactly in combat mode lol She only struggles with the killers when she’s been badly injured
Best final girl ever, I was so happy watching her go crazy cause in most horror movies they leave villains alive and they get up which is so annoying
Agreed - best final girl ever.
Next to Sydney prescot
@@iconic-deathdealer I would say Sidney is the best final girl with how many times she's survived, whereas this final girl is the most satisfying with how quick she is to go into action and try to take out the villains and not make dumb decisions
@@Shyknitagreed
Samara Weaving in Ready or Not was a strong contender for best final girl ever.
"I'm the fastest but I have a f*cking arrow in my back!"😂 This definitely gave me Ready or Not vibes. I'm a huge Strangers fan too. Another good home invasion movie (minus the comedy) is Hush. Another smart final girl. (Hulu)
Hush is one of my fave thriller movies of recent years. They have some of my fave scenes ever, the scene with the bathtub, the scene with the siren and the scene with her imagination are all insane
This was made on a $1 million budget and netted $27 million at the BO. Very impressive all around.
Also, the actor who played Felix passed from cancer in 2020. RIP.
I…did not know that at all 🥺
Tom Cruise & Robert Downey Jr. have a worldwide box office of $12.100.000.000 / $14.000.000.000 billion.
Fun Fact: The film director is played by an actual film director, Ti West.
He's the guy behind some really great horror movies. House of the Devil, X, Pearl. High recommendation for all of them from me and many others, youre bound to love at least one of them i think
The House of the Devil is still my favorite Ti movie. One of the best slow burns in horror (my favorite subgenre). It's right up there with The Night House and Saint Maud.
omg i didnt knew that was him!! gagged
Big brother was too. That’s Joe Swanberg who has done a few movies, and him Ti West and the director Adam Wingard all directed segments in the first VHS. Seems like they are buddies
The neighbor is also the fantastic Larry Fessenden, who has written and directed a bunch of horror movies and the video game Until Dawn.
@@jarrodoakley6911 Joe Swanberg, A.J. Bowen, and Amy Seimetz are also in Ti West's found footage movie, The Sacrament. It's one of my favorite movies.
I saw others have pointed out that Ti West (director of X, Pearl, House of the Devil) plays the boyfriend who gets sniped by a crossbow, but the neighbor who gets killed in the opening sequence is Larry Fessenden (director of Wendigo, Last Winter, Depraved). Love seeing all of these indie horror folks popping up in each other’s movies.
Joe Swanberg, A.J. Bowen, and Amy Seimetz are also in Ti West's found footage movie, The Sacrament. It's one of my favorite movies.
"I am the fastest but i got this arrow in my back!" was lowkey hilarious xD
You cannot tell me this film isn't the strangers meets ready or not
Edit: With a sprinkling of home alone
I think it's homaging A Nightmare in Elm Street more but Home Alone comparisons are inevitable.
This movie is so iconic! We all wish we could act like Erin 💀
Such a great movie. Glad they didn’t make a sequel as it doesn’t need one it’s perfect as a stand-alone
17:46 ‘OMG There’s a lot of um…..stabby and and knifey in this movie….’ Absolute Favorite quote of the whole video 😂😂😂😂
Ugh, this is such a comfort film! Erin definitely made this movie looks so good, and badass. We love a final girl who actually gotta fight! And this one’s kinda creepy too. Slight recommendation too, “The Sacrament” directed by Ti West, he directed X and he’s a very good director, writer, and editor. Looking forward for your reactions!
before the movie started I couldn't helped by noticing how pretty your eyeshadow looked ❤
sorry 😔 I was just being nice and I'm a girl I like boys
thank you, that's really kind!!
It sucks the movie ended on a cliffhanger and despite having a cult following, there still are no plans for a sequel
i feel like this movie works really well as a stand alone - i think the sequel would have likely been weak but i guess we’ll never know
No need for a sequel what would it even be about the killers are dead and so is the family
My wife loves your eye shadow! She has The Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th makeup palettes.
The guy who got the crossbow in the forehead through the window, is amazing director Ti West!! He directed The Amazing House of the devil, X, pearl and soon to be MaXXXine ..
There’s an awesome super small detail in this movie that I love. It’s when the whole family first arrives and the mom (or it might be the dad) asks if anyone would like a drink and Crispin, Felix, and Zee are the only ones who raise their hands.
One of my favorites!! So satisfying to have a protagonist that is so smart and shes one of the best final girls! :)
*I loved this movie, was obsessed with the lore behind it and director in it etc!!!*
I remember me and my cousin watched this the first time when we were young with my older cousins and sisters and omg it was so much fun and I loved the final girl!! She’s the definition of a final girl
My favorite part of this movie is that “You’re Next” switches from a threat from the antagonists to a warning from the protagonist not to fuck with her. She very quickly begins to pick them off one by one.
This makes me want to see her react to The Hunt now, super good thriller with twists and gory kills
Incredibly that the director went from doing a small yet effective horror movie to Mega Blockbusters movies like the Godzilla vs Kong films.
Fun fact the mother is played by an iconic horror film actress!
I LOVE THIS MOVIE FOR REAL, and I love your reaction as always
whenever someone reacts to this movie i immediately skip to the blender scene… you did not disappoint!
I'm so glad I recommended this movie to you! your reactions are priceless!!
When I think of great 21st century horror, this is towards the top of those films. That borderline comedy, blended with the brutality, and one of the best final girls to ever enter the genre. And while The Strangers truly unsettles me, I'd say that's probably one of those too.
The movie 1408 is a highly slept on gem! Definitely recommend checking it out
Having seen You're Next in so long but I do remember really loving it a lot. I do need to watch it again at some point.
Review Saw 2 please! You’re going to love it 🙏
You’re awesome for doing this movie especially since it got last in the latest poll you did lol
definitely doing all the movies in that poll regardless! 🩷
Genuinely love how strangers have become a favorite of yours
Just started my reaction channel and needed some great reactors to subscribe to! I have been in pure heaven since discovering your channel! Thanks for the entertaining content 😂!
This is the best modern day horror movie ever and it's highly underrated. Most definitely one of my favorite movies
OVERrated?
I just remembered this film I watched when I was at a sleepover as a kid , and It scared me so much. It's the 2001 version of 13 ghosts, would like to see if it's as scary as I remember or it was just so scary because I was 12 😂
One of the first horror movies I ever watched and that running out the door scene will forever b burned into my mind
Check out the movie Would You Rather(2012).
The first time I saw this, I said aloud, "Feels a lot like Criminal Minds" after that first scene played. Spot on! 🎯
A movie I would really recommend ist a little found footage movie called „The Visit“. It scared me so much but also has some funny moments. The tension is outstanding, but please don’t expect to much since many people don’t really find that movie horrifying. Just go in witch no expectations and it will be at least a good time!
I'd love for her to see "Hush". Defo one of my fav "home invasion" type horror/thriller films.
This is a awesome movie so much fun thanks for reacting and watching I'll catching up on the videos 🖤
You should do Hush. Its a unique take on the home invasion type horror story.
It's definitely got a comedy element imo lol. I love when horror does that, even tho most of my friends would disagree and think me weird for laughing 💀Glad you liked it!
I will never forget seeing this for the first time and bring so shook at how bad asss the main girl in this movie is 😭 it was very satisfying
Erin hands down my fav female slasher protag, total badass and through the trope for a curve
21:48 I can't with ur reaction!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Ready or Not actualy came out after this one, and there were comparisons to You're Next with that release as well
I‘d love to see you react to Devil one day. I can already see you in a similar situation to Scream, where whenever you voice a possible suspect, they die. 😄
Fun fact: Tariq is Ti West who is the director of the ‘X’ trilogy
Did you dub over the music playing on the CD player? In the original release it was Looking For The Magic by Dwight Twilley Band. This movie had a great soundtrack overall.
The Sacrament is a great movie which features four of the same cast members from this movie and directed by Ti West.
I love this movie, because of Erin 🔥 She’s my all time favorite final girl. You’re Next is my favorite home invasion movie
I love this movie. such a refreshing take on the home invasion genre
one of my fave horror sub genres
Well there is a hint Crispin was in on it, one of the masked killers was in the closet his dad was about to open and Crispin entered the scene so in all his dad never opened that closet to reveal one of the killers early on.
"....am I?"
😂😂😂
The reveal had such a good buildup.
SHOUT OUT FOR CAITLIN TO WATCH DEAD SILENCE 👇🏾✊🏾
so, if you enjoyed the kinda weird vibe of this movie, you should def check out "the guest" (2014, starring dan stevens), it is also written by simon barrett and directed by adam wingard (like this movie). it has pretty much the same style (less gory, little crazier) and could be described as the movie equivalent of retrowave music (to like 80s action/sci-fi/horror/thrillers). it also has alot of retrowave.
I love this film. Erin is such a great final girl. The moment she jumped out the window because she wasn’t prepared to physically fight her attacker was jaw-dropping.
Oh, and there are definitely moments where Crispin showed red flags. He stopped his father from discovering one of the hitmen who hid in the closet. And just his hostile behavior toward his brother. We see they have an odd dysfunction. I don’t know who I hated more-Crispin or Z.
i remember watching this movie a ten years old with my parents lmao 😭
That cut to Michael Scott had me dying laughing
Really good right up there with strangers and that French film I forget title but a really good home invasion horror film not many too ones out there but I liked this film a lot got a really good take on the whole ending
What French film lol I love the strangers I’m down to watch another movie like it
@@pleaseshutup7053 I think the movie is call Tension or something like that.
@@pleaseshutup7053 I search for it, the movie is call Haute Tension it's from 2003.
Am i crazy or is the music playing at the neighbors different than on the blu ray???
Well if you like home invasion movies there is always Hush (2016) that involves a deaf woman, Intruders (2015) that has Rory Culkin from Scream 4 in it which is about a home invasion against an agoraphobic woman, and Don't Breath (2016) that has a home invasion against a blind war vet.
If you are looking for another staple horror movie, you can't go wrong with John Carpenter's The Thing (Same director as Halloween).
As for You're Next, ya Erin will most likely get arrested and might even go through court, but the crime scene has so much physical evidence that it should be easy to show reasonable doubt so I doubt she would get convicted. The only thing that could get pinned on her depending on how things go down with testimonies and such would be the cop at the end.
aaaah I just watched this two days ago and she is the best final girl I've seen
So so so glad you went into this one blind, brilliant film
Literally anything happens...
Her reaction
"Eeewww"
Thanks for the vid Caitlin !!!
One of my all time faves, def in my top 10
Glad you enioyed this one. I believe there is a story for a sequel that was planned however a lot of the crew's careers have since boomed in recent years so making chances of a sequel fairly unlikely nowadays
Another spin on the home invasion genre I recommend is The Collector from 2008/9.
The lead actress Sharni Vinson was in horror films BAIT 3D(Shark film) and Patrick. She also played on the tv series Australian Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains. The mother(Barbara Crampton) is a horror movie ICON having played in more than 20 fright films!
the fact that you released this on the day they dropped the new Strangers trailer lol
Please watch the Fear Street Trilogy. It is such a good series. It has suspense, plot twists, humor, blood, etc. I love you so much❤️
"the same thing happened to Jim Hopper."
Scream 6 next❤❤❤
I love this movie and I love looking for the Magic by the Dwight twilley band I remember seeing this in the movie theater and thinking this is awesome
You should check out another film by this director, which also happens to be a sequel, Blair Witch 2016, the direct sequel to Blair Witch Project and personally I think it’s super underrated and overlooked but it’s also scarier than the original to me and gets wild😅. Also, found footage of course😉
What song was that at around 12:51 it sounded pretty cool
This movie was a total surprise when I watched it in theaters was not expecting what this movie is and what the trailer delivered for getting you into the theater of course as usual exceeded my expectations to a top tier very cult classic movie for the idea behind it was very well done it has some issues but for what it is the girl makes up for the final girl especially the goriest death ever blender need I say more was not expecting that one there's some other good ones too❤
Such a home alone vibe at the end of this movie 😂
I freaking love the strangers especially the first one and then this movie you're next comes a close second to the first strangers movie on my favorites list there's one other movie it's really older it's from 98 I think panic room Jodie Foster's in it it's a good one and a young Kristen Stewart if I remember right it's been so long since I watched it😊
OMG IM EARLY!!! I watch your videos everyday al day lmao
aw, i appreciate the support!
I cannot do the home invasion stuff because it's so real.
Ay, if you like to play video games you should play The Quarry
fun fact, the guy who got shot with the arrow is the director of X and Pearl
You HAVE to add Malignant to your list. I need your reaction to it
WATHC THANKSGIVING PLZ!! I NEED NEED NEED TO SEE YOUR REACTION
gotta watch thanksgiving suprised u still havent got some intense stream
You should watch The human centipede if you think terrifier was disturbing while you haven't seen nothing yet if you think hereditary was disturbing midsummer this takes the cake you should watch it.
I always look at your wall and wonder, what is your favorite song in the Kaleidoscope Heart album?
Thank you for the videos, love your reactions! Is like watching movies with a friend.
Really?
Hi Caitlin. I know a fantastic audio drama series that I think you should check out. It’s called The Morgue Files. Trust me. It's amazing!
0:08, heeey! That's me
New sub here, I binged all paranormal activities, Blair witch and almost all the found footages😭❤️
Did they have different music playing at the neighbours house for different countries? The version I watched had “Looking for the Magic” by Dwight Twilley.
nah that's just me editing in a different song for copyright reasons
@@shesscared Pesky copyright restrictions. I was looking forward to you commenting on how much of a bop that song is 😂
That and how it’s so joyful in scenes that are so… well… horrific.
@@shesscared i gotta ask: what song is it? Sounds like it would slap to hear the whole thing
The twist in this is brilliant...way to go survivalist doomsdayer lady. She was kick ass. I think you'd enjoy Ginger Snaps. (The movie, not the English biscuits).
After seeing this film, you guys think she's ready for the Hostel series?
Yes lol
Oh and answer your question from the terrifier video because it's crazy that's why people watch it I suspect well I watch it because well I didn't watch all of it it's a guilty pleasure it's insane it's messed up it's graphic and watching people react to it and knowing what's you know going to happen is just so satisfying.
For home invasion movies, have you watched Hush? A fun one
I feel alone about not liking this movie. The girl with the brown long hair starred in Home & Away in many years.
Loved the movie review, good as always :) am curious when you’ll do Friday the 13th though
