hey! I’m really interested in film and wanted to know if u think it was worth it to work as a film student! like, are jobs easy to find so far? (my parents have been really settled on jobs that are stable, so like some jobs in film sometimes aren’t :(. so do u think the salary is stable as well depending on what job u want?)

Hi!! In full transparency it is a really rough industry to break into, but it is not impossible. You really have to love working in film to stick with it. Personally, even as a rising senior at nyu, I don’t have any family connections in the industry so I have been having a hard time even landing a solid, *paid internship. I would suggest looking up job listings for future positions you want to gage salaries! LinkedIn has some listings from places like Netflix for example that have salary ranges right now. If you are still a little worried about the major, you can always double major in business or business entertainment! I know a lot of people who do that- super common.
