Love the how villian's drums came after the Krypton theme,Ken thorne did the perfect job for this Superman movie and part 3! The signature drums he used for Zod and his henchmen and the evil Superman from part 3 is just amazing!!!
I feel like Ken Thorne put more effort in composing this soundtrack than he did for Superman III but then again the Salkind’s probably told him to not use anymore musical instruments than he needs to in order to save money…
@@bratton79 The score for III in general is pretty weak much like the movie itself. There are some good tracks but overall it's nowhere near as good as the score for II.
“They can be a great people, Kal-El…”….”and for this reason, I sent you, my only son…” (S turns back to earth after soaking the suns rays, and shatters the sound barrier). “Father, they know not what they do…” choked up, powerful stuff
Thorne definitely did a great adaptation of John williams's Superman theme,i love the notes of music he added to the theme which made it a perfect opening to a classic Superman movie!!!
Superman II se estrenó en mi ciudad el 25 de diciembre de 1981. Hubo dos largas filas en los dos cines donde se estrenó simultáneamente. Nunca lo olvidaré, fue una experiencia inolvidable y la gente lo disfrutó mucho.
The vote must be unanimous, Jor-El. It has therefore now become your decision. You alone will condemn us if you wish, and you alone will be held responsible by me.
I bought this record, yes record for a record player for 12 dollars back in 1983 or 1984. I listened to it a million times!! -Then I started listening to Acdc and Metallica behind the parents' backs.
I imagine this as the soundtrack to Superman flying out from the surface of Earth to go meet and fight off whatever new thing showed up in space lately to threaten humankind.

For some reason this score always sounded tinny -- like it was coming from under-powered speakers. Not a bad adaptation by any means, it just suffers from a woefully underpowered orchestra.

Probably one of my absolute favorite movies of all time ⭐

don't care what anyone says, Williams was a genius, but Thorne made this PERFECT.
There is no bigger fan of John Williams than me but I agree 100%
Yeah, the way that theme kicked into gear at 3:30 was amazing.
I have to agree. Thornes rendition of this score is infuckingcredible.
@@rokerroar Yes but without John Williams, Ken Thorne would no where near be able to come up with his own Superman theme.

He did the best superman themes ever

Love the villain music in this, especially how the Krytpon theme switches into it.
Brings tears to my eyes, as that timpani rumble begins... 🥲🦸👍🏻👍🏻

This soundtrack score beats anything Metallica ever did lol.

Crazy. I always dream about flying.
Great stuff buddy. Big thumbs up.
Wow an amazing start love the first minute then we have the superman
First minute BAD ASS!
2m.50 is an assault on the senses, incredible!
The music at 2:51 is great.
fantastic!
Love this version better than the original strangely enough!!!
Lovethis listen to it everyday!
Thorne inspired hinself in Willians. The movie Dublado in Portuguese is amazing.
Thorne took this theme to new heights
He was able to reverse engineer Willaims score and make the arrangements even more ambitious.
I wish the soundtrack was on cd
IT IS .

Love this !!!!
I like what John Williams did

They're definitely not the London Symphony Orchestra. That's for sure. Still, not bad!
No it's the audio recording in the movie sounds very flat but when you hear remastered especially like this it's just as perfect as Williams

@@JohnDoe-tm9wz It’s a great way to start a Superman movie
@@TheKevinKruger Yes sir!
It is good and I like it but it does not have the same oomph as the John Williams score.
Thorne was given a studio orchestra half the size of the London Symphony to work with. There were only 50 players in the ensemble, per Thorne himself.
