haha yes its radio controlled , but only for micro adjustments in ''real'' time not on DST/EST and only in specific countries

Make that 10 years later. I bought an Apple watch 3 years ago and my G-Shock was in a drawer that entire time. I brought it back out 2 days ago and let it charge in the indirect sun on the patio. Then needed to come here because I couldn't remember how to set it. Haha, works like the champ still! On a side note, I've said it before.....I don't know if it's still there, but I used to go into Valencia Time Center frequently as I grew up in Valencia L O N G before there was ever a mall there.

Yes. Make sure you are near a window or outside. Many things can affect the signal reception. Make sure your watch is in the Timekeeping Mode. Hold down the top left button (adjust) for about 2 seconds. The second hand will move around to Y or N, and finally R. R means it is ready to receive. You will know whether or not it was received successfully when the second hand moves to either Y or N for about 5 seconds.

Absolutely. There are however situations where a watch may not receive a signal and it is for those people that I wanted to show the manual setting without having to read the sometimes difficult instruction manual.

Thank you. Very handy. Been years since I wore mine and I needed to change from DST to Standard.
I personally like the 4000. The white on the dial makes all the difference to me. Plus the size is a little bit bigger which I like.

If you are asking about the crystal, then no it is not a sapphire crystal and not deemed scratch resistant. That being said I rarely see scratches on G-Shock crystals because they are recessed enough from the bezel that they do not get hit all of the time.
THANK YOU! You video is the only place I have found that I could use to set my G-Shock (GW3000BB-1A) since I messed it up after the recent time change. Great to have my watch correct again with your help.

The way I understand on this watch it's not optional. An hour in the dark and the second hand will sleep. 6-7 days in the dark and the whole watch sleeps. To exit power save mode just expose the watch to a well lit area.

reset button would be nice. my protrek prw-5100 was a piece of cake to set. why is this one so difficult?
The 24 hour hand moves in conjunction with the main hands. All you have to do is run your main hands back 12 hours, the little subdial will follow.

Thanks for the help I got some settings right but I can't get the day of the week I've tried 3 times. The big downfall of this watch is not being able to tell what mode you are in during setting.

Sounds like it may have received a signal? Maybe the settings for day light savings are incorrect? Start from scratch if you have to, the video shows you exactly how to set it.
Btw, there is a timezone 1 hour ahead of LAX. I believe on the watch is DEN.
I got this watch as a gift honestly I wouldn’t buy it myself because it is too much trouble for setting up the watch even I watch this video and every year I have trouble to adjust it

They would appear to be the same watch. Different model numbers due to different availability in different countries.
helpful video if you watch before casio usa. the guy could not help me set this watch at all. infact he gave up and told me his technical supervisor would give me a call. have not heard anything and now my watch is even more screwed up then it was when I received it. ?!

What are you trying to do? Manually set the time? Or have the watch receive the signal? After the double beeps the watch is ready to be set manually. If you are setting up to receive signal there are instructions in the comments below. If you can get more specific I will try to help.

Oh it's very complicated to adjust the time. I have the unit and took long to adjust the hour. Maybe after 8 yrs if my watch will not work already. Maybe I'll look better or easier G-shock. Simply to adjust. This unit is hard to adjust.

Thank you for the video. I followed everything accordingly and for some reason, my watch does not keep the proper day of the week. I set it for 1005AM 27 March 2021. The watch for some reason thinks that is a Thursday....odd.

Casio doesn't advertise any specific temperature ratings for this watch specifically, however, I would think this watch should be sealed in a manner that those types of temps shouldn't affect it. If the build up is indeed on the inside of the crystal I wouldn't feel comfortable. Casio may be able to provide a better answer bu in short, I don't feel like that should be happening.

It has atomic time keeping u dont need to mess with the time
Would it not be easier to just select your home time zone and then activate signal receive? The watch then does everything for you.
