That kinda gave me an understanding of watercolors, cool tones, then warm tones, light to dark, layers and layers for details, love it and thanks!

I was very taken back by the blue that was added in the beginning but theres always a method to the madness 💛💛💛
I was as well, until I realized that it was being used to show where the shadows are, at least that's what I got by the end of the video.
It’s an undertone, it clashes against the brown and desaturates and darkens it.
So if you kind of know the color wheel you know that orange is opposite of blue. Brown is a very dark orange but in order to make a color darker you have to add the opposite color on the color wheel, in this case blue. Hope this explained it :)
natural shades always have a blue-ish undertone so it makes sense to start with the blue, but tbh i was confused at first too

I am not able to make a portrait. Water colors are the most difficult ones to work with. I'm so frustrated right now. But thank god I'm not alone lol

You know....as artists we have the ability to not only produce tangible pieces of art, but the innate ability to see what many others are not able to see in the world around us. Sometimes it can drive us mad. And if we are truly lucky we can produce pieces that show the world exactly what we see without explanation needed.

As I have learned to say "sometimes you gotta make a load of crap before you get a small diamond. And make even more crap to make diamonds more consistent." Don't worry if it's not the best practice makes progress. Don't give up and it will be beautiful. 💗
