Just hearing you share your thoughts was very relaxing. I also drift off when sewing. Look forward to how this progresses. Liz

Really enjoyed watching this video and your memories of childhood - I remember sitting with my Grandpa watching the wrestling on a Saturday afternoon and there would be a John Wayne film too! Such simple times xx

Strange, I love random and can't be tied to set pieces such as cross stitch, which is such a rigid discipline, and yet, unironed fabric gives me stress. I love what you do, and crewel stitch is a great way to go. I love doing that. Wood pigeons are definitely the worst nest builders. I love the wood pigeons and the way he hops and bows to his lady.

I enjoyed your trip down Memory Lane! :-) I learned to embroider from my (maternal) Grandmother who lived just a few blocks from my house. Back then, we bought iron on designs of flowers and birds and bunnies and girls in bonnets that were applied most often to pillowcases. I have a small bedspread my grandmother embroidered for me when I was born. I rarely stayed the entire day with her but for lunches, I remember eating something that she would get the ketchup and mustard out for (hot dogs? bologna sandwiches?). She kept them in these tall squeeze bottles. There aren't any birds in my memory of her house but there are hollyhocks. They grew along the garage wall and I didn't known anyone else who grew hollyhocks. I've always wanted to grow them in my yard but I don't have a good spot for them. There's a song by Judy Collins I think of often - Secret Gardens - that starts out: "My Grandmother's house is still there, but it isn't the same." It's about growing up with memories of childhood still strong. My Grandmother's house has been torn down and I wish I had a good photo of it. Thinking of times in my Grandmother's house always makes me happy so... thanks for the prompt.
I always watch you to embed ideas in my brain for my own ongoing project. I don't do Facebook or Instagram so I never 'tag' you in those places. But I appreciate how much you share your skill and inspiration with us. As a past teacher (of many different types of thing), I recognize a good teacher and you're great. Be kind to yourself at the moment and let posting here be something that seems right... and not an obligation or a burden. What we bring to this is support... not a demand for content.

Hello Rebecca. What a lovely end to Sunday afternoon; you, me and lots of others turning scraps of material into something wondrous.❤

I lost my mom in 2020, and found slow stitching shortly thereafter, it is extremely healing but also so creative.

Thank you for sharing your fabric stitching process as well as your memories. I love the colors you are working with for your weaving. I've made 2 pieces just for the sake of trying it, but now I'm going to follow you to make a pretty picture ❤❤❤ Thank you, again
