@lindaherrington6291 thanks so much. Beads solve everything, I think. The colours were surprisingly harmonious. It's a fun way to try colour combinations that are unusual.
@adrienneroberts thanks so m7ch. Could you hear my despair? It turned out well in the end, I think. Thinking about ice-cream is clearly the answer to my pink problem. 😂🍨
I totally agree! I often realise that I've bitten off more than I can chew. It's lovely to go postcard sized and get a piece finished in an hour or two. I do love big projects, but sometimes it's good to just get on with something for an afternoon. 🤗
I’m new to your channel and I came upon this and I haven’t done any sewing all summer but decided it’s time ! I’m stressed with all the things going on in the world, so it’s time to relax with sewing! Love the beads!
Thanks for watching. Most of what I make on this channel is improvised. The Garden Quilt was a little bit planned, but I do tend to just go with the flow and see what happens. It helps me to avoid perfectionism. I stop when I like what I have made. If I don't like it, it isn't finished.
@@featherstitchhouse I am looking forward to get started on a project it will have to be a small one. I am 90 years old so to start anything big to begin with might be a little bit too much, so I would start something small. Thanks so much for your video on slow stitching.😊😊
Hii, I’ve recently subscribed to your channel. Iam fairly new. You are soo right… it is stress relief, I look forward to various videos, watch and learn. Iam retired, been crocheting but wanted something new. This is wonderful, look forward to make new projects 👏👏 Thank you 🤩
What a lovely video. First time watching you and I really enjoyed it. I'm sorry you've been going through a hard time. Isn't it wonderful to have something like slow stitching to get us through. I have subscribed to your channel and I wish you well. 🌷
@helengibson8196 thanks so much. I'm really glad you are here. I'm so glad that I have sewing in my life. It helps more than I can say. Thanks for watching.
Hi Rebecca, I've just come across your channel by chance and I am so pleased I did. I loved the concept of the way you settle yourself down for slow stitching. I was feeling so calm watching you and how you get started with your project. I do a lot of slow stitching and sometimes I run out of ideas what to do and colours to choose. I am definitely going to try the method you used by putting the fabric in a bag and choose without looking. You have given me so many ideas and I'm excited about trying them. Thank you so, so much. What a gem I've found in your channel, Diane x
Wowzers! Thank you so much for your lovely comment. I'm delighted to hear that you are going to give some of these methods a go. I hope you have many hours of joyful and relaxing slow stitch as you do. Enjoy! 🤗
That's so wonderful. I hope you felt totally relaxed at the end of the process. Tag me on Instagram or Facebook if you post pictures- I'd love to see what you have created . 😊
It did make me laugh when you picked out the pink material, but somehow, I just knew you would. The colours blended really well however and the end result lovely. Pink can be so pretty!!
@lizhopewell0507 I just focused on ice-cream and all was well. 😂 Could you hear my dismay? There were so many beautiful prints among those fabrics, and I got brown smears and pink polkadots! Thank goodness for the floral!
@georgiecurnow1393 Hi. I have been gifted many of my seed beads. I occasionally buy Mill Hill or Toho beads. I can recommend Totally Beads in the UK. They sell online. The containers are diamond painting store boxes from Amazon. Hope that helps.
You made those random fabrics work together so well. I love how it turned out.
Thanks so much. My dismay at the first 2 picks was real! So glad I got some colour for the 3rd!
Absolutely superb, love the colours ❤😂
@@lespagne49 thanks so much. I think they worked in the end. 🍨
I'm just venturing into slow stitching -- loved this SO MUCH!
Those colours have gone together so well, and the run of beads is very effective.

I like the scale of this piece. Sometimes it can be overwhelming to work on larger bases for stitching. Thank you!

4” x 5” base
Very nice
Thanks ☺️
Where do you find all those colors in the large spools of thread? We can't find that where I live. Thanks!
They are Sheepjes Maxi Sweet Treat threads. I get them online. Wool Warehouse stocks them, but I think they are now called 'sugar rush'.
Starts at 6:10
You can skip what you don't want to watch. I like to make sewing accessible for complete beginners, so context and set up is important.
No really starts at 1230!!
If you just want the project, that's where to go.
