The difference between the two teams right now is that Georgiev is being asked to not lose the game all by himself, and Hellebuyck is asked to win it all by himself. It is unfair, but the Avs are just the better team.
Not really. Avs look like the best team in playoffs rn but that’s only because the jets are getting the worst goaltending getting penalized too much and not showing up. They haven’t played any games this series to the full potential we’ve seen in the regular season.
I do see your point, OP. The Jets are failing him in a way that the pressure on his responsibility is made a lot bigger. The Avs have been shooting the hell out of the puck, so that adds to revealing the Jets lack of solid D. They can't contain a heavy skating Avs team.
The Avs have out played Winnipeg in all the games the only reason we won one was because their goalie was worse then ours for a game jets ain’t built for the playoffs and that includes helleybuck time for LB to start

Georgiev did not L the 1st game all by himself. Avs defence made terrible errors all through the game.

as an English-born Australian, I just love the traditional of throwing the hats on the ice whenever someone scores a hat-trick. Tis wicked! Avs starting to find their mojo. Jets are a quality outfit, but Avs getting some momentum here and now one win off progressing to the next phase. Can't take it for granted though, but alas...pretty damn cool :)

Sooo happy Big Val is back and healthy! George also played well (regardless letting a butterfly in). Nevertheless, Avs are for real and it's a pleasure to watch them skate.
I think Avalanche is best skating team in the league by far. They can demolish everyone by just how fast they ALL are. All you can do is to try to slow them down....but with all 4 lines being so good and fast, that's insurmountable task.
Makar's skating is unbelievably smooth and powerful. There are many very good players in the league but I think he's the most complete. Makar's style of playing is the future of hockey. He's phenomenal.
They should watch out. Slavic sluts can appear anytime again 😅

Jets fan here. Avs have just been better every single game. Disappointed the Jets couldn’t do more, but then again the Avs have just been too much to handle and Jets haven’t had an answer. Hoping the jets at least put up a better fight in game 5, but must be so much better. Cheers Avs fans.

I love when respect is earned and not automatically granted. LIkewise, as an Avs fan, I would still like to see the better team win the Cup. But for now, I'm very happy with how Colorado Avalanche is playing. I've been Avalanche fan ever since they came to Denver in 1996 and won the cup! Hope they'll do it again this year! Go AVS!

This is looking like the second season in a row that the eventual Vezina winner gets wiped out in the first round. Last year, Ullmark got the Vezina after he and the Bruins fell apart in the first round against the Panthers, and now Hellebuyck, who is probably winning the trophy this season, currently has a GAA of 5.22.
The last goalie to win both the Vezina and the Stanley Cup in the same year was Tim Thomas in 2011. Having the best goalie in the regular season doesn't mean you're winning the Cup anymore.
The Jets have been to Hellebuyck this season.

In truth, out of playing for 22 years, I can’t recall a defensive player who has the speed of Makar with those hands and those points in any history of the NHL.
It’s like watching Patrick Kane but at 6’0 with the lane shot ability of Laine.
Nicklas Lidström and his 7 Norris Trophies and 4 Cup wins just entered the conversation
@@reallifelebowski4732 Lidström is probably the greatest defenseman of all time, but is not comparable to Makar in terms of offense. Makar has been at or over a point per game since he joined the league. Lidström was almost always much lower. That's why Makar is more often compared to Bobby Orr.

If the Avs can make a deep run I could see Landeskog getting back in for the WCF and possibly more, then retiring. I don't think his knees can handle many more NHL games.

As a Rangers fan, seeing Pionk & Namestnikov on the same team, I knew what was going to happen.
It's so wonderful to watch the Jet Win or lost with the sound on since Kevin Sawyer isn't taking all game. Nice
This game had proper colour commentary. Not excellent, but solid.
1. No telling me what to look at. Look at that pass. Look at that save, etc. I'm already looking.
2. No self-congratulatory "You mentioned that before the game" or "That's what we were talking about" comments about stuff that just happened which was peripherally related to something they said earlier.
3. Discussing strategy and reasoning at times rather than simply saying what you see.
4. No screechy high-voice.
This is the Jets' regular broadcast team, and yeah, I agree that they're really good. In addition to your points (all good observations), I'll add that they call the game evenly and aren't homers (they don't get excited only for Jets goals, or complain only about calls that go against the Jets, etc.).

Avalanche will have tough with Vegas, since the style of play is a match up that is particularly difficult for them. Just as was Kraken`s a year ago. Still hope they go far this year. Georgiev is not the avs` weak link, TO`s and occasional bad defending are.

Of course it’s easy to call it offside when you have the luxury of watching a replay lol. The officiating in the NHL isn’t that bad like you make it out to be. Just be thankful the NHL doesn’t have an Angel Hernandez officiating.

Absolutely. People blaming this on Hellebuyck have either not been watching the games or just don't understand hockey. He's a great goalie, but the Avs are just dismantling Winnipeg's defense with their speed and skill.
