I heard this a while ago at the end of the movie 'Shooter' and thought it was excellent.......then the other day i watched 'Public enemies' and heard "Ten Million Slaves" so i hunted for that and found both.....very cool...:)

Yea I made a vid out of 10 million slaves too but YT banned it for copy right issues. Yet allowed this one to stay up even though its from the very same album. Weird.

I'm glad you liked it. I put another O.Taylor song from the P.E. movie sound track on here with great pics too but for some reason they allowed this one but not that one. It was 10 million slaves. It hurt me so bad when they blocked it. It had been up for over a year before they took it down siting copy right issues. ): I like the 30s too. Especially the way they dressed back then. So stylish.

Depends on how you look at it. Its a Robin hood sort of thing in my view. And some people like you see them as terrorists. I see them as freedom fighters defending their homeland from foreign invaders and occupiers who came to their lands and started a war with them not the other way around and since this in MY video I mix it any way I damn well choose and if you don't like it then never watch it or any other lady bat video again.

I'm sorry Jstock I must have missed this post from you. Just saw it now. That person at the 2:06 point in my vid, I think, is just a self portrait of the artist who created that image. I'm not sure though. I just felt it sort of went with the music which is why I chose it.

"Ten Million Slaves" but for some reason YT said that one was not allowed because of copy right issues even though it was off of the very same album. I see its up on YT by other users though. Its another very cool song by Otis Taylor and also used in the movie Public Enemies.

I don't know. Back when I made this vid I was not keeping track of the artists names because it was more time consuming. But I realized how unfair that was so I started providing the artist name for each image in my more recent vids. I'm sorry I don't know who the person is in that image. It came from the Deviant Art Web site. I used search terms like Public enemies, gangsters, and John Dilinger.

  • @batlady2
    @batlady2  11 ปีที่แล้ว +1

On the same album there is a song called "ten million slaves". I love that one too and made a video out of it but for some reason YT said it was a copy right violation and deleted it. I don't understand why this one was allowed to stay up but that one was not. They even put a strike against my YT account for it. Any way, other people up loaded that song and it stayed on the board so you can look for it. Its a real cool song.

that was the 1st one ever I heard from Otis and still perhaps my favorite. I was hearing that song all through my trip around the Ashanti region, where I am a declared brother to King Long. Such as they would never give in, it was others who had this tragic odyssey to overcome, both a sad statement of our humanity and a testament of our strength. I belong free. It is not always as simple as being a personal choice. Many are not fully aware. I only have been so far. batlady2, thank you yet again- always great to visit with you, and many times over, I am listening... layers of meaning. Appreciate, and will always need to listen again. I swim in the deep end. Oh and yes finally did see the movie and it really is fantastic! Best regards, good health and high spirits......... ~RaVen~

Thank you for taking the time to share that information with us Das. I think the term "wrongfully accused" when applied here to J.D. means he was not as much of a bad guy as law enforcement folks in those days said he was. That is how I think of J.D. any way. He was thief but he did not steal from the people. Politicians and people in power who steal from the people are the real thieves.

Yea I love Otis too. And I had never heard his music before the movie Public Enemies came out. When I heard his song 10 million slaves I HAD to have it. Now I'm a fan of all his music too. I had another video uploaded in here with his song 10 mil. Slaves but YT deleted it for copy right issues a whole year after I put it up yet this one was allowed to stay. Weird.

  • @batlady2
    @batlady2  12 ปีที่แล้ว

Yea I've watched other films about him but none were as great as this one in my opinion. Back in those days, depression era times, people tended to side with the criminals because they saw them as the underdog taking on the establishment.

John Dillinger may have been a legen in his on mind and time and a hero to the people however he was not wrongly accused he committed the crimes and was shot by the newly formed fbi for these crimes including murder fraud kidnapping and bank robber. Although saying this is his still a hero of mine. But saying he was wrongly accused is like saying the Kray twins where just business men

+tom cannon the fact is that the song speaks for wrongly accused people.... i guess in the movie "public enemies" they used the song just because it was good.
instead, in the shooter movie the song suits both the story of a wrongly accused soldier and the atmosphere created by the movie itself...!

Dear batlady2 I am thankful for your statement, and if you please, there are often many sides. I condition Accords, a Field Agent for 25 years, a Field Commander for 10 more, do you know my odds... hahaha, the odds are irrelevant, I found 5 regimes in the '04 Indonesian Conflict, yet then 3 more came to talk. I found 6 regimes in Accra, not counting all the Chiefs and the Ministries, I am a reformed outlaw, spent some time on Death Row. Self defense is tricky business, the more they send the more I dispose. I take this all as being playful, just another rowdy half breed don't want to know from heavy chains, cages and Burma Shaves, don't find peace for the sound of guns- I do not run, or take cover anymore. I use whatever means I have to. My own nasty letters are beyond what many can imagine, so I post this here for you, as an outside, eich bin un austrader, hahaha, thus for me, I ride the fringe...
    SLOW BULLET RAIN
    Love eternal, time betrays
    ebb and flow... infernal maze!
Do I trust or perhaps refrain?
Heavy metal jacket, slow bullet rain...
to go out on my own terms played
    moments born as memories fade.
Beware signs worn out too much to read-
World of want, now world of
    greed.
There is a value, so there
    will be a price.
    There is a blindness, sees
    only the wise.
    They who came shall come
    again,
    Heavy metal storm, slow
    bullet rain.
    Same old tracks, yet a
    different train.
    Sunshine soul mine; Slow
    Bullet rain...
    ~ce la fin~
    By RaVen DaWn
…at the end, begins again, have thou faith,
    mercy and grace…
