Honestly the Kraken bones in the game don’t look nearly as Big as the Kraken’s tentacles in the game in my opinion so if We were to ever see the kraken’s body it would have to be super to match the tentacles

It could be a squid morphed by alchemy and magic. I've been tapping into some Dungeons and Dragons lore recently wich says that Kraken are sentient beings(squids) who constantly dabble in dark rituals and magic to improve their physical form.
You've kinda mentioned this theory in some of your other videos and I really support it! It just makes so much sense. Theory: Could the fact that 'the opening to the Sea Of Thieves changes', be because krakens leave the Sea Of Thieves, once in a while? So when a kraken leaves, a passage opens for everyone.
Hey falcore I have a theory for you So in the maiden Voyage the first island you see after passing through the shroud is thieves haven, correct. So if you look below the island of thieves haven there is shroud this means we know the location of old sailors isle in that area. I feel soon this part of the shroud will open up and we will be able to talk to the pirate lord for a new tall tale, maybe a sequel to heart of fire? Or a new voyage idk.
On my first day in the Sea of Thieves, the ship that my brother and I came on was attacked by the Kraken. Not to mention this was just after we escaped the Devil's Shroud... I can't tell you how happy I was to find the Kraken many months later, before I was a Legend, and slay it alongside other pirates that happened to be sailing the seas that day. Unfortunately, I think that because of this- and ever since the fog banks rolled in- that Kraken keeps reappearing to battle me. I must be cursed.. I can sink other pirates like nobody's business, yet my oldest foe always returns. I hope one day I could perhaps deal a final death blow to this beast.
I know this comment is old, but I'm leaving it incase you still don't have an answer. You can never kill the kraken because it always runs of after being too injured. This is because the Pirate Lord (Ramsey) fought it while he was alive and half blinded it, now it never shows its face and always hides in it's ink. while writing this reply, I realised that In the book where the Ramsey fought it, it was described to have a scab over one eye already from a previous battle (even before Ramsey half blinded it in the remaining eye) but in Tall Tale 2 of A Pirates Life both eyes are completely fine, so I thought maybe the Sirens healed it when they reawakened. maybe they could also strengthen it during battle?
TerOor every update has been insanely buggy, i guarantee even with the delay this will come with a ton of bugs, devs are incompetent and show it consistently

When a skeleton ship ambushed me on a solo run I pumped 10 shots into its side in a row it turned and ran. As I attempted to catch up it submerged, not sunk it dove down while I was chasing it.
If it wraps the stairway just either keep someone down there or shoot someone off so they can take a mermaid and teleport below deck. To bail without going above, either have more than one person go below as stated above and then hold the water until they can leave, or throw firebombs and put the fires out to make the water disappear.
Phil Spencer spoke about this, he tweeted that it was a really difficult task and that it would be a problem not only for coding, but animate the model itself. So they took the Kraken away and we can only see the black ink and its tentacles.
This reminds that today me and my friend were on a sloop and he had an alliance with another sloop and we just completed a fort and while we were taking the stuff to an outpost we got attacked by a skelly sloop but we had 10 cannon balls and no wood. Then after that we got attacked by the kraken and so the only way we could survive was to keep getting the water out, oh yea i forgot to mention we also had no food so whenever we took damage we couldn't heal. Thankfully our friends on the other sloop came to the rescue and repaired our ship which had like 5 or 6 holes. So what did we learn: to always stock up on supplies like get atleast 100 of food, cannon balls, planks. You can loot the outpost you spawn in you can go to other islands and search for supplies and yeah It was the most intense moment ever.
My bother's thoughts (he who modeled the Kraken whether or not you believe that) are that either 1: there are 2 breeds of Kraken and that is why it keeps getting depicted as a squid or, 2: Rare never considered the concept art or skeletons when they animated the tentacles and accidentally created a biological paradox (the skeleton does not line up with where the tentacles come out of the water). In any case an interesting video and nice to see my brothers work get some attention.
How I think it went: The ancients worshipped the Kraken as they saw it’s ability to part the shroud. They and merfolk wanted to kill the old mother to save themselves. However, the ancients wanted more. They used the old mother’s body to harness her power in order to craft the Shroudbreaker. When they used it to uncover lands such as the Shores of Gold, they would sculpt and carve items to pay tribute to the old mother. However, some merfolk didn’t like this. As shown by some cave paintings, the merfolk were split into two different tribes that support two different ideas. One side, the mermaid on the right with the torch, supported the ancients. The other side believed the ancients were abusing this power and had to be stopped.
I wish that the tentacles went down further. If you swam too deep in the water during the kraken encounter, you'd see a large kraken eye suddenly come very close, before being instantly killed and taken to the ferry of the damned.
For the skeptical- the kraken cave painting is facing forward, so it just looks like a squid but we just see it’s head and it’s tentacles are behind it
I think the reason (or at least of one the reasons) Rare hasn't shown the Kraken body or anything yet is because they don't know whether to make it a "normal" squid like kraken or go with that original concept art, because some people might complain and stufd like that. I personally imagine the kraken as a squid even after seeing the concept art, which is fine because Rare hasn't shown a body in game yet (skeletons don't count) and we don't know what it looks like because they could easily use the concept art, go with a squid, or make something entirely new, just cause there is concept art, doesn't mean it is NECESSARILY canon yet. And I see no problem with people seeing it how they want if there is no proof otherwise, all the cave drawings and everything in game (Besides skeletons) points to an octopus or squid rather than something similar to the concept art so..
I hope in the future updates they make another kind of boss fight with the kraken like it bopped your ship with its head and we could see what it looks like or when you get hit into the water and look down you can see the eyes
Whenever I sail across the Sea of Thieves with my cousin, all he has to do is mention the ugly fish and it attacks us. We've called him "the Summoner of Krakens" as a result. We got extremely lucky the last three times when the kraken attacked us when at the same time we were attacked by either the megalodon or a skeleton ship, and we just sat back and waited for the both of them to kill each other off and collect the spoils
Yeah, what I’m thinking is those mermaid jewels everyone is collecting, maybe when you drip krakens blood on them, they have a chance of becoming like a shroud breaker jewel. Although the fail rate is rather high so they need quite a few of them. However if you found the old mother’s blood or successor’s blood maybe it would work instantly but the secrets of this were lost to the ancients.🤔 I mean that would give rise to reason aside from “let’s help out the fish people out”

On thing that always gets me is that people talk about the Shroud and how it damages and warps your ship. But have we ever thought about if the shroud effects you just the same Under the water? Could it be that these krakens are able to go back and forth because of the depth they swim to. Does the shroud effect under the water or just a micro potion of the surface?
I didn't know the kraken skulls where kraken skulls until the pirates life arc, I assumed they were a bird-like species since I've never seen the artbook until now
Nice video :) Also maybe you and your friends might want to look into something. So the Shrouded Ghost. A Meg that's in the game but no one's seen it; what if you start the tall tale to go to the Shores of Gold but instead of going there you look around the other parts of the map locked off by the shroud? It seems logical but I've not seen anybody try it
Argh! I imagine they revamp the kraken fights so that after you take down 3-5 tentacles, the face of the kraken would rise from the water and start spitting deadly ink at your ship, it would slightly blind you while also dealing damage to your ship. The kraken would also send tentacles to your ship in almost the same way the megalodon charges at your ship.
I think the kraken is some type of squid just because in the rock paintings that the ancients left the kraken has a beak but it’s on the front side of its face making some other type of squid or creature that resembles a squid. So basically what I’ve said it what you’ve already said I suppose 😅
Those skeletons at Kraken's Fall are Kraken skeletons, squids don't have bones, and the skeletons do match the design of the concept art and the Kraken you fight in the second Pirate's Life Tall Tale
Btw krakens DEDINITELY have a shroud stone cuz they can spawn in the shroud while sharks die after roughly 2 minutes in the shroud but krakens act like its nothing
It is a squid, but it’s not a squid, but SoT sorta makes it like a squid...but it’s not a squid. It’s something that’s squid-like but not a squid at all
Maybe when they killed the old mother that created the shroud seeing as she was the oldest and largest of the krakens but her kind was able to navigate through it because they came from her and that could tie in with the shroud stones maybe coming from krakens

On thing that always gets me is that people talk about the Shroud and how it damages and warps your ship. But have we ever thought about if the shroud effects you just the same Under the water? Could it be that these krakens are able to go back and forth because of the depth they swim to. Does the shroud effect under the water or just a micro potion of the surface?
I didn't know the kraken skulls where kraken skulls until the pirates life arc, I assumed they were a bird-like species since I've never seen the artbook until now

what if you start the tall tale to go to the Shores of Gold but instead of going there you look around the other parts of the map locked off by the shroud?
It seems logical but I've not seen anybody try it

I always thought that the kraken was THE kraken like there was no other, so I thought you never really killed the kraken you just defeated it
Argh! I imagine they revamp the kraken fights so that after you take down 3-5 tentacles, the face of the kraken would rise from the water and start spitting deadly ink at your ship, it would slightly blind you while also dealing damage to your ship.
The kraken would also send tentacles to your ship in almost the same way the megalodon charges at your ship.
I think the kraken is some type of squid just because in the rock paintings that the ancients left the kraken has a beak but it’s on the front side of its face making some other type of squid or creature that resembles a squid. So basically what I’ve said it what you’ve already said I suppose 😅
Those skeletons at Kraken's Fall are Kraken skeletons, squids don't have bones, and the skeletons do match the design of the concept art and the Kraken you fight in the second Pirate's Life Tall Tale
I can imagine flameheart trying to revive the mother at some point it seems too important of info to just mention and never see it

Btw krakens DEDINITELY have a shroud stone cuz they can spawn in the shroud while sharks die after roughly 2 minutes in the shroud but krakens act like its nothing

Maybe when they killed the old mother that created the shroud seeing as she was the oldest and largest of the krakens but her kind was able to navigate through it because they came from her and that could tie in with the shroud stones maybe coming from krakens
