shew ! .. Great channel Peter - these are great interviews ! .. so glad so far to have seen no sh$t attempts to entice other people to gamble. Keep the lustre alive & never pollute the truth
Jees I could name the team almost, Garvie, Alan, Kempson for awhile. Mark and Atherton, Fyvie, Teichman, Putt, Stransky, Muir, Thompson, Cobus van der West, James Small, Juba!!
For every NZ's fan and AB's supporter as a Bok fan my whole life, I have never seen courage displayed by a team down to 14 men to still be in it at the end. Absolute respect for the AB's and Like Ritchie, I would follow Ardie Savea into battle as easily as I would follow Francois Pienaar. Just for Kirwan 4 that's right count em up 4 WORLD CUPS and if you ain't down with mauling, scrumming and 7-1 splits we have just two words for you..................SUCK IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mark's comment on the amateurish behavor back in the day, wont pass the sustainability test on human rights today, because the players were litterally slave laborers, well thank God that part is out of the game now. The fat cats are now a footnote to history
For sure. I always like to say that sports administrators are politicians. Not necessarily the type we are used to but politicians nevertheless! They care more about their parking bay at the front door of the stadium than the players. We must always be suspicious of them!
What an absolute legend! I still have 4 busted teeth from attempting to crash tackle Mark while playing hostel rugby one afternoon at Selborne Primary back in the mid-80's.... great times! It was an incredibly proud moment seeing him go on to lift the Webb Ellis trophy 🤘😆
The ref that Mark was referring to is Peter Marshall- I met him once at a function in Sydney prior to RWC 03! Great interview as usual Peter! Geez it sounds like Dick Muir liked having fun! Mark Andrews( Selborne) & Dick Muir( Queens) are from the Border region- wonder if any ex Natal players went to Dale- the 3 top boarding schools in the region!
I couldn't think in that moment but after that chat I wondered if it might be Wayne O'Grady but I think you might be right here, Sean! Glad you enjoyed the interview. Dick Muir's name comes up time and time again when it comes to the funny moments! Some great players have emerged from the schools in the Border region, that's for sure.
Mark , Bakkies and Eben are the standout Locks of our generation ....Mark looks as fresh as he did in 95.
Some incredible players you've mentioned there. Could add some more even!
Mark does indeed look great!
I love it when Mark uses the Afrikaans words because those words in English just don’t carry as much power!😅
Absolutely! There are some words that you just can't translate!

Some amazing players in that squad!

Four is the magic number!
Another thing the Sharks did to build spangees was giving kicking duties to Ollie le Roux when they were far enough ahead.
It was a great side. I think most South Africans who didn't support the Sharks, actually had them as their second-favourite team in those days.
@@frontrowrugby you could sense they were happy playing together. And that rubbed off on their supporters…

@@frontrowrugbyif Rassie doesn't become the outright head honcho of SA rugby in the next few years then I'll give up !!!

Great story, Adam. Thanks for sharing! Mark made everyone of us in this country very proud in the end. What a wonderful player!
