What an incredible journey this has been😭😭😭 and I’m even more grateful that all of you have traveled and experienced it with me😭🙏🏽❤️I’m so proud of our boys and girl Tanjiro, Nezuko, Zenitsu and Inosuke they have really come so far and I cannot wait to continue this journey with them in Season 3 along with Muichiro and Mitsuri I’m kinda bummed we didn’t get to see Muzan and the rest of the Upper Moons reaction to the news of Gyutaro/Daki falling to the hands of the Demon Slayer Corps😭😭😭but I’m sure we will eventually mostly likely in the first episode of season 3 given that they teased it at the end with Akaza being summoned to the Infinity Castle hopefully Muzan doesn’t take out his anger on Akaza again🤣🤣🤣🤣as for our main man Tengen I’m glad Nezuko healed him and I’m glad both he and his wives survived and are now able to keep there promise of retiring they absolutely deserve it this was an absolutely beautiful ending❤️❤️❤️ with all that said I will see you guys next year or whenever Season 3 comes out and we shall continue the journey🥳 this isn’t Goodbye it’s more of I’ll see you guys next time love ya’ll and thank you all so much for everything🤗🙏🏽❤️

Ume is Syphilis. Actually, the meaning of ume is plum. When Syphillis is infected by a sick, a plum-colored mark appears on the body. Then, at that period of time, they called this disease as "Ume"

To be more precise, syphilis is called Baidoku（梅毒）, which is written as plum poison. Bai is another reading of ume, and doku means poison. So the name Ume was taken from the word bai, which means syphilis.

Fun fact: I'm 95% sure that's not true. The only reason I'm not 100% sure is it could've been mistranslated in the English version of the manga but I doubt it.

Just to clarify, from what we know so far - Nezuko's blood demon art affects demons and blood demon arts. Since the poison is a result of Gyutaro's blood demon art, Nezuko is able to burn the poison away (giving the impression of healing). If it was a regular poison they were affected by, Nezuko wouldn't be able to remove its effects.

Exactly! Since I've read the manga watching the anime adaptation alone hasn't been as thrilling compared to being an anime only since I know all the twists. Watching Michael getting hyped up gets me hyped too.
Swordsmith Village is my favorite arc because best boi Genya will finally make his appearance!

Secondly, I’m a big Zenitsu Fan, seeing him go from Sixfold to Eightgold, and then finally Godspeed left me speechless.
Thirdly, Tengen, my favorite Hashira! I love his personality so much. It was kind of like liking Joseph Joestar the moment you first see him. And I was always so curious to see how Sound Breathing would look like.

The reason Ume stabbed the man's eyes was because the man spoke badly about Gyutaro. The author wrote about it in the fan book.
i’m ngl, as someone with a sibling i teared up a couple times in this episode, Gyutaro and Ume deserved better when they were kids
and that ending made me so happy tanjiro and the others made it out alive, this anime is definitely top 3 for me, i can’t wait for the next season
i do hope no more hashira’s are killed or retired, i see they’re trying to pave the way for the next generation but they can hold off on writing them off for awhile lol

the first in the opening of season 1
the second time when kyogai (drum demon) was talking about the kizuki
and the third time when enmu was mentioning the upper moons!
@@paulsmith9192 Well the story in the manga has already concluded, so all of the happenings would be spoiled if you were to read it before the anime airs it
And thus far the anime has faithfully followed the manga, with some extra scenes to give extra information

The name “Ume” comes from the disease “Baidoku” in Japanese, and “Baidoku” is “Syphilis” in English. Which means, Gyutaro and Ume’s mother had syphilis. (I guess you’ll know why.)
After Gyutaro got killed, Muzan gathers the upper moons and have a little conversation with them, so I was expecting to see that in the last episode of season 2. But it looks like we have to wait until season 3… Oh come on(´°̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥ω°̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥｀)
Seems like rather than healing, its burning away anything demonic. i remember in season 1 with rui that nezuko's flames do not affect humans and only demons. Hence tanjiro can run through it. Since the poison is of demon origin, her fire burns it away.

I know others have explained that ume is syphilis, but the characters in Daki mean something along the line of fallen princess, and gyutarou is a slang for pimp/gigolo
I think how it works is that Exploding Blood only burns away demon-related things. Thus the poison was able to be burned away while not harming the person in the process
There's also the fact that Nezuko's blood demon art can't hurt humans as it was made evident in the Mugen train arc.

Man watching this episode really got me in my feelings as someone who has a younger sister and for a while we weren’t in a really good place and just seen that that that could’ve possibly been me I know this is a work of fiction but it’s based also in reality that some people can live in the worst of things in their life could be going good for just a little bit and then it all comes tumbling down thankfully life got a lot better for me and my little sister and my momSo I am thankful that demon slayer caught the emotional part of the sibling bonds cause that really got above me and my little sister today and we watch this episode and when we read it and this is why I truly love anime

Well, "Ume" refers to "梅" in Japan, and if we add "毒" to the word, which can be read as "梅毒", meaning syphilis (a venereal disease) in English. The people working at the district easily contracted such disease in the past, so I would guess Daki's mother passed away because of it and Ume was named from the incident.
I pray this man never gets spoiled because his reactions are so good!

Actually Gyutaro was 26 when he was turned (I think) and Ume was 13 when she was turned
In the afterlife Ume was forgiven by the God's and allowed to go to heaven since it wasn't her fault that she became a demon. It was Gyutaro's fault so he told her to go the other way so that she could go to heaven and be reborn one day. Gyutaro couldn't go to heaven so he went for hell. Also so she could be free of his curroptive influence. Also the only reason Ume stabbed the samurai was because he insulted Gyutaro

the fact that we got to see akaza at the start and end of the new season is just so great for me since he's my favorite char. Man what a badass

Ume is wrote in Chinese character 梅.(It means plum)
It is named from 梅毒(syphilis)(梅＝plum 毒＝poison)
and maybe, Gyutaro’s appearance is designed by Congenital syphilis (his rash, tooth …etc)
Syphilis spreaded at Yukaku in Taisho era.
It is said that Another upper moon damons are also related to various deseases.
