Started going into jazz recently myself. And my brother who does guitar. We’re just so over the direction of rock and metal and the generic recording structure of it all that we’re no longer inspired by it. But jazz is something that speaks to path in life or place you’re at that conveys something as a musician to yourself first, musicians others, than the audience. I also think theres more room to experiment in jazz now more than ever and a lot of young cats are getting into it. We’re fortunate enough to have a knack for our instruments that we can transition to styles without fundamental “studying”.
Interesting interview, there seems to be background music going on? At times Peter is trying to expand his answers but is interrupted mid flow which is unfortunate.
Hello there, glad you enjoyed that interview! Music is put on post production. No music was played during the interview, that was in fact a specific request from Mr. Peter to not have any music during our conversation. 😛🙏🏻 heheh. 🎶
I have to laugh at the idea that any engineer would tell Peter his drums rang too much or were "misbehaving." When I engineered recordings, Peter's drumming on Bass Desires was my example of how drums were supposed to sound if recorded well.

Came here for Peter talking about music, not 'white privilege'.
He didn’t mention BLM burning down cities etc.,
