  • You can use direct modeling for more than you thought! In this example, taken from the getting started content, you'll see how to design a part in context to a larger assembly. See the rest of this series by using the link below:

    Every time I watch a video, there’s always a little gem of information hidden that I learn about. Fantastic video, thank you.

      Re-Anchor. Been using F360 for years and never used that or knew what it did!

    Great tutorial, how easy and fluid the design process using Fusion 360 with many tools discussed here, direct modeling, dimensions, re-anchor, split body, and others with design intent in mind, just amazing.
    Thank you.

    Shouldn't you start by making a new component rather than sketching directly on the base assembly?

      You caught us forgetting RULE #1...yet again. Old habits die hard.

      @@adskFusion Thanks for the response. I didn't know if it was some big brain technique or just an oversight. :P

    Does anyone where I can get this model so I can follow along?

    Why we have to convert the body to a component?

    • @adskFusion
      @adskFusion  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you ever want to show how parts are going to "interact", they need to be components.

    Very cool, but wouldn't the new part collide with the outer casing?(if installed as to the plane which cut)

    • @adskFusion
      @adskFusion  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's definitely possible, but an easy fix at the same rate.

    The reason why i can't use fusion over solidworks is i don't have weldments option on fusion, i use it for many of my projects

    • @adskFusion
      @adskFusion  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We've definitely heard that before! As an ex SWX I get the value of weldments. Hope to have those abilities at some point.
