My man thank you was wondering if that mk8 custom switch would fit. Looks a bit sloppy and I can live with that but it seems like you can pry the side tabs off the old one will see when I get mine if I can add them to this version

Check the fuse, sometimes when the old switch fails, it can short and blow the fuse, especially if the switch gets real wet when a door is left open in the rain.

Yes, driver side gets exposed to rain and moisture more often than the passenger side, 99% of the time the switch.
