I’m born and raised in Texas. Been to the state fair at least 20 times but I watched this video writing food items down that I need to try when I go myself this year lol. Great video.
This was so well put together. I forgot I was watching TH-cam and not Food Network for a second. I can’t wait to try some of these places when I go to the fair.
This was great! I've been in Texas over 35 years and have been to the fair at least 20 times, but thoroughly enjoyed this video. The Fletchers jalapeño corndog with KETCHUP AND mustard is a must. Chef Cassy's fried collard greens have become a yearly staple, along with Louisiana foods of any kind (Louisiana girl). I'll definitely try the deep-fried cinnamon roll with bacon thanks to you and try again this year for the Biscoff cheesecake (you tried the churros version). The line was tooooo long last year, but it received rave reviews. Thanks for this! You need a day or two of fasting after all you tried for us and your tastebuds!
Amazing food! I've never seen this level of creativity with food. I want to eat all of it! I can't pick a favorite. Your enthusiasm and positivity about all the decadent food had me smiling throughout the video!
❤ from north texas. This episodes' quality and film style is really amazing 👏 Its up there with the likes of Jolly, KoreanEnglishman,TopJaw, and Huckberry Y.T. channels
I’m born and raised in Dallas Texas. I been to the Texas state fair through my childhood to now in my 20s and college student. And it family tradition when my family members from Louisiana to came the game to watch Grambling State vs. Prairie View. I been look at new food items at Texas state fairs to write down to try new food items that I been seen on the web and social media. I love your videos Matt James

Not sure how you made it to my scroll but I thank you for the video! I never knew they had a food “hall” I will definitely make a trip to the fair this year thanks to your informative and entertaining video!
I was lucky enough to see you at the state fair! My daughter recognized you in a second. I was the awkward spectator watching you eat fried butter!! Good times!! 😅
Was at the state fair this weekend and it was unbelievable! The game for Texas / OU was going on and the crows was just ridiculous. Texas State Fair is legit a must attend no matter where you are from!
You're just the best, Matt!! Loved watching. You tried and loved my favorites, and I can't wait to try tge oatmeal cream pie next time. P S. ....Missed Rach.
I loved his reaction when he eat the fried oatmeal cream pie and the love he showed to Drake and Drake’s appreciation. Warms the heart. I live in North Texas and the fair is close to me but I haven’t been in like 5 years. Maybe now is the time to go. But those prices, man 😅!
My family and I are going to the Texas OU game at this location on Oct 12th and we absolutely love this video! We have made a list of food choices to try out once we get there, thank you!!
Next time, try the fried pickle pizza! Btw, Chef Cassy has been at the state fair since 2009. We visit her booth every yr for her fried collard greens! 🤤😋
i’m going tomorrow and i’ve been wondering what very interesting new foods all the fooods should i try? since i knew i was coming to the fair. I was born and raised in texas but i haven’t been since the pandemic. But i’m a very picker eater, so wish me luck!great video❤
I'm from Pa and went to the fair on Tuesday and Wednesday. I had the cotton candy bacon. I did not care for it. I had the pickle pizza, and it was excellent. Tried the fried butter and did not care for it because it was too gummy in the middle. Thanks for the video.
Watching this kinda makes my tummy hurt, but doesn’t change the fact that I clearly missed out on some interesting stuff at the State Fair of Texas the other day!
I always get The Fletcher's jalapeño corn dog....🥰 Chef Cassie's fried collard green's, the sweet potato pie in the pavilion, can't think of the name of the place, but it's orange and the strawberry crispy waffle with with whipped cream powdered sugar right outside of the automobile center. Also get the jungle juice inside the pavilion. It's cheap. Can't forget the fried banana pudding either!
Great video! Stopped for a kool aid pickle last Thursday night and the employees were being rude to everyone. But will say the lady in the video was nicer! Maybe it was rough night for them 😅

Yes mustard is a must and only condiment on a hot dog! I'm 1000% behind this as a Texan myself. Lol. 🤤😋
no ketchup??
@@Mattjames919 NOOOO! Lol! Mustard is so much better. It's the only way to go. And that Cotton Candy bacon looked! 🔥

Right; with the pause😂😂😂😂
Stop liking everything lol. Your too nice brotha! Not a bad trait at all !
But I appreciate your video cuz I could tell what you actually liked lol.
Looking like a Fletcher corny dog followed by boudin balls and the stuffed chicken followed by churro cheesecake would be the ideal plan!
that sounds like an excellent course of action!
Loving everything about your channel.
Recs for Austin

Uchi
we went to uchi last visit! 🍣 - I’ll have to try the others :)
What days are the state fair of Texas?
It opened sept 27th and runs for 24 consecutive days! 😊
MAtt in Dallas!!!!? yesss! dallas is my home and ive never seen those honey wings.. on my way!!!
You should try a piccadilly snow cone now that you’ve tried the kool-aid pickle. They’ll chop it up and put it as the topping on the snow cone 🤪
The grandfather (corn dog originator) was in Vaudeville 🤩💫🎭🕺🏾🎤🎶🥁 STAMPED ✔️

The title of the video should be “The Texas State Fair featuring Chef Cassy” ❤❤
What was the ticket on all of the food?
Great video! Stopped for a kool aid pickle last Thursday night and the employees were being rude to everyone. But will say the lady in the video was nicer! Maybe it was rough night for them 😅

Matt, how was your tummy after all this? Everything looked scrumptious.
And you wore a white t-shirt the entire video. Legend 🔥
Man all of that food looks good
Great content!! Could also title this video “How to Spend $1000 on a Heart Attack”. Thanks for the recommendations!
Matt, how do you eat so much?? 😅 I lived in Texas (Houston) for 9 years and never made it to the state fair. I guess I was missing out!!
you’ve got a whole month to make it happen! why haven’t you ventured up??
My favorite dish at the Fair is "Deep fried PB&J"!!!!
As a Texan I've went to the fair in early 20- 24 keep this up.
Next year you HAVE to go to the Minnesota state fair. Long time debate - but as a fellow Minnesotan it beats Texas’ fair 🤣💜
any Minnesota recs??
Has 2 B da most *elaborate* state fare review vlog
It’s 6 vendors with turkey legs, but which one is the better one?
I'm hungry 😅😅😂😂
Giving a stranger a bite instantly makes me like you partner.
Wow!!!!

anything stand out to you??
Where to get the taquitos and the fried plantains???? I know I'll go by chef Cassy and fletchers and stop with the goat.
Matt I love you and your channel but you need a better mic we cannot hear you that well
