DIY RV Storage Drawer

- After building my first RV storage drawer in our first RV, I knew that I would want one of these in our next RV as well. These drawers make it so simple to be able to reach everything in a compartment that is four feet deep and sometimes a pass through compartment. If you have a travel trailer with minimal storage, you are certainly familiar with having items in the storage compartment that you can’t reach or that you haven’t seen in a few years due to it being lost behind something in the deep, dark corners of the compartment. After purchasing our new travel trailer, I planned to build this drawer and fortunately, Vadania reached out to me offering a set of heavy duty drawer slides. You don’t have to add drawer slides to have a working drawer in your storage area. Drawer slides do make it very nice, easily operational and much more professional looking. vadania.com/

Great job! Thanks for inspiring me to do my own!
Good job sir and thank you for sharing
Thank you, I appreciate that. You’re welcome, I hope it was helpful.
Very nice. Looks sturdy.
Thank you, I appreciate that. Very sturdy so far.
Need plans for the "mother-in-law" size slide out tray.
Very nice. Can you tell were your got the slides from?
Nicely done! Would you be willing to share the approximate cost of this project?
Since this is your 2nd slide out is there any places you feel like you could go thinner wood to save weight without compromising the integrity of the unit?
Great job, looks nice! One question for you. In my use case, maximum drawer height is a concern because I'll be holding a cooler on my sliding drawer. I noticed that your cross beams were vertical. Is there any effect on load bearing by rotating the beams on my frame horizontally (where possible) to save some vertical space?
I don’t think there would be an issue with load bearing, if I understand the question correctly.
Is that storage space accessible from the inside of the rv bedroom? If so how can I secure it?
Yes, I can raise the bed and access the back side of the storage space. I attached my drawer frame to the back side of the partition that separates two inside drawers under the foot of the bed from the storage space. If that makes sense
