Rest Easy, Charlie Watts. You were the Rock of the band.
The greatest drummer EVER.
Reminiscing and watching videos like this one just now, I was telling my wife how I always loved Charlie's style, but especially the funny faces he'd make while drumming, and she said, "Isn't that every drummer?" She gets it. 😂

Tolerant indeed while Jagger prances about like a deeply disturbed aerobics instructor (although, in Mick's defence, seems the look he was going for!)

Spot on, Charlie's having fun playing his part!

As a kid in the 80's when this song came out I thought wow those old guys are still making music. And look 40 years on they still are and now really old guys
Now we know that 38(Mick at this time) is still a very young age.
I got into the Stones in 1982, being 11 myself. I was laughing at them, because they were SO OLD (in their 40´s). Now, I´m 52, and they are still doing it in their 80´s. I´m not laughing at them anymore;)
Now they are realising a new album
I got into them in 1964 and have loved them ever since. I’m now 70 and have seen many great artists. Nothing beats the excitement of a ‘Stones show!
As the saying goes, we need to think about the kind of world we want to leave to Keith Richard's! 😅

Hi how are you doing
Yes
This was one of my father's favorite songs. He was an immigrant from Barbados, who came to the US as a young man. He settled in Boston where he met and married my mom, was solid blue collar, worked as a janitor for over 30 years, retired, grew bored and then went back to work. He was the sweetest, most humble man, enjoyed his Budweiser after work, loved to travel, and always had his camera with him to capture the moments. He was always early and when my mom died and we were cleaning our her stuff it was the only time I saw him cry. Many years later, on his headstone we put a camera as an ode to his greatest passion. To this day whenever I listen to this song, I think of him and how he must be rocking along to the beat with me from on high. Love you forever, Dad. Thanks for the memories 💜

Charlie made all of this possible, and he wasn’t of the rock star persuasion. A great and classy man and drummer. Esquire Charlie Watts would be more fitting.
There was real rock music and true rock stars in those days. The 60s and 70s were great decades for music.
'Til all are one.
The moments where Charlie smiles at 1:13-1:15, 1:43-1:45, 2:26-2:28 and 2:47-2:49 are the best part of this video! It's like Mick, Keith and Ronnie are the little kids acting crazy up front, whereas Charlie and Bill are the grownups watching on in amusement. Who knows what Charlie had to put up with, and it seems like he did so with so much grace and elegance. He's not trying to draw attention to himself, but because he isn't, he is the most alluring! He doesn't even seem like he's in the right band, but his quiet and gentle demeanor holds everything together, just like a drummer is supposed to do. RIP Charlie.
